Not as good as before The side dish tastes sour and smelly Very disappointed Maybe there's no Ac inside so the food easy get rotten..

Food is good. Service? What service?

I'd give this place zero stars if I could. I came here for lunch today with one other person, and the entire experience was honestly baffling and uncomfortable. The restaurant was only about 1/3 full when we arrived. We found a table and sat down, only for the woman owner to rush out of the kitchen and demand that we move. She claimed the table we chose was "reserved for a party of 4," even though the table she moved us to was the exact same size. Whatever, we obliged. Then it got weird. A few minutes later, another couple walked in, sat at our original table, and she gave them the same speech and shoved them into a corner. Ten minutes after that, a third couple walked in and sat at that same "reserved" table--and this time, she didn't say a word. She just let them stay. The other displaced couple and I just looked at each other in total confusion. It felt completely arbitrary and honestly disrespectful. The "service" here is non-existent anyway. It operates like a food court: you have to get your own water and walk up to the counter just to order your food. They basically just drop the plate and disappear. Because of the rude treatment and the fact that I did all the work myself, I didn't leave a tip. To my shock, the owner actually had the gall to come out and demand a tip. The level of entitlement is unreal. You can't treat customers like an inconvenience, provide zero service, and then expect to be rewarded for it.

Pork chop and chicken leg rice

This review is so long overdue. My family and I used to come here consistently and it does not disappoint. This restaurant is small and family owned. Trust me when I tell you that their pork chops and specifically the fried chicken leg is so much more superior than any other Taiwanese restaurant I've ever been to. I don't know how they are able to achieve such flavor, tenderness, and crispiness of the meat. Super good! And it comes with sides that varies every day. This time it came with ma po tofu and veggies. The meal always comes with an egg. I crave their food all the time and I'm sad that I don't live that close to Rowland heights anymore, but whenever I'm in this area, I will always consider this place as one of my meal choices.

Haven't been here in awhile, food is still as tasty and service is better! Will come again soon

Definitely some of the best Taiwanese pork chops you can get in LA. Pork chop had nicely crispy outside and achieved that perfect flavor you find with Taiwanese pork chops. Although their pork chop was really good, their fried chicken leg tasted even better in my opinion. Popcorn chicken was fine. Their rice and noodle soup tasted standard. I liked the service. It's gonna be hard to search for another restaurant in LA that does Taiwanese pork chops better than this place. So search no further and just come here!

Hair under the pork chops. Gross.

Came to get my pick up. While I got to the store, I waited by the cashier for my order. I figured I would get a cup and get water, which is right next to the cashier. As I grabbed the paper cup, the (rude) lady yells from INSIDE the kitchen: There's no water for pick up orders. (Geez, super Nazi!) Their pork chop is good, but will definitely make an effort to never come back. Update: Just started eating our take out and my son just told me there's a hair in his pork chop. Time to ask the health department to check their sanitation.

Noodles with pickled greens and crispy pork chops.

Got the pork chop and noodles. The soup was not that salty and the pork was crispy. The picked greens were tasty and added great flavor. Don't expect much service or a super clean place and your expectations won't be dashed.

Authentic, delicious Taiwanese food at a very affordable price. Service is great despite only two people running the restaurant. Ambiance is casual like a mom and pop Chinese restaurant. Highly recommended!

If this rating is for the food is is 5-star as this place is famous for the Taiwanese pork chops. Even though is mainly ate with rice I love their pork chops with soup noodle. The reason for 4 star is that it seem like a mom and pop shop so don't expect friendly customer service as I went today by myself and they don't even give me one napkin but gave other table who has 3 people. Also, their appetizer includes pig ears which I like but tried to order last 2 times they don't have it maybe discontinued but still on the menu. It's a small restaurant so not a lot of seats. Definitely not the best place to go if u have a big group more than 4.

The cuts are perfectly thick and tender, and mixing it with the runny egg is incredibly satisfying. Even better than my usual go-to spots. But the real plot twist was the Pineapple Bun with Butter. I normally skip these because I find them too sweet, but theirs is a game-changer. Extremely crispy on the outside with that perfect slice of cold butter melting inside. The papaya salad is lack of flavoring (specifically the garlic taste). It's not very marinated. Tom Yum Soup: We got a small bowl of the seafood tom yum soup. The portion is great for 2 people, but don't expect too much seafood from it. The flavor is good, so it's still a great soup option. Non-Sweet Sticky Rice: Unlike other places, their sticky rice is served as a dessert, you can still taste the coconut flavor. Most other traditional Thai places serve sticky rice as unsweetened and plain (i.e., jasmine rice soaked overnight). Not really mad about this. The service was absolutely amazing. Food is stellar and of value (6 XLB for $8!), portion sizes are good, and everything is piping hot! The soup dumplings have soo much soup IMO beating out Mama Lu's which is what I would consider to be their nearest competitor. The spicy shrimp wontons are also good, but I think the flavors don't quite hit as well - big pieces of shrimp are enclosed though! The Peppered Beef Udon was great the beef pieces were tender and juicy and great textured noodles. Pro tip: If you are a first timer/came from far and waited a while don't let them seat you at the bar the experience is not as nice by far (I saw someone say it's like paying to stare at a wall - I concur) Being seated at a booth or table will allow you the full experience but I do understand there's only a limited amount of room in the bustling place.

The young woman working immediately acknowledged us before we even finished writing our info down and asked how many were in our party. We said two, and she told us to go ahead and start building our bowls. The concept is pretty cool and very straightforward. You grab a bowl and tongs, then walk through the different sections choosing your ingredients. They had a good variety of veggies, noodles, meats, seafood, tofu, etc. Pricing is by weight at $15.99/lb. Once you finish building your bowl, you head to the cashier where they weigh it and you choose your broth and spice level. The broth selection was surprisingly huge, around 15 options if I remember correctly. I got the Tom Yum broth mild spice, and my girlfriend got the Organic Miso mild spice. We also added jasmine green tea and white rice for $1.99 each. After ordering, they give you a table number and you can head over to the self-serve sauce station while your food is being prepared. The sauce bar had ponzu, sesame oil, soy sauce, sriracha, Tabasco, scallions, cilantro, red onion, satay sauce, shallots, minced garlic, chili powder, chili oil, and more. The soups came out quickly and were served over a live flame at the table, which was a nice touch. Both broths were excellent. Even at mild spice, there was still a pleasant kick. The broth itself had good body and flavor and didn't taste watery at all. Service was also great. The server checked on us consistently, kept drinks refilled, and was attentive without hovering. The restaurant itself is pretty small, maybe around 8 tables, but it felt cozy rather than cramped. Nice interior, comfortable temperature, clean setup, and the vibe was relaxing. They were playing bossa nova versions of 2000s and modern hits which honestly fit the atmosphere perfectly. Definitely a spot I'd come back to. Great value, fun experience, and genuinely good hot pot.
