I thought while it leaned on the sweeter side, it also just had a great atmosphere for getting work done (open until 9pm) and with accessible parking! I'll be coming back!

AMBIANCE = 4 Ample seating. Windows give an open feeling. But the earth tone colors makes it feel like a cozy place to chill. Read. Meet with a friend. It was not crowded at this time. 2. FOOD/DRIINKS = 4 Coffee was perfect. Not bitter. Smooth. Perfect temperature. Tiramisu was very good. 3. SERVICE = 4 Took order with quick turn around. Positive attitude. 4. BATHROOM = did not use. 0. 5. PRICING = 2 This one area is where I find it drags the business down. Plus I dislike that all apps pop up the tip percentage. Here they start at 15% unless you use custom. Caps at 25%. For coffee and a couple of dessert and tip it came out $17.95. When we visited a Ben and Jerry in VT. They required no tipping. They paid employees enough and the price reflected it. 6. OBSERVATION Station was messy. Creamer was full. Plenty of items available. 7. Walked in and took time…read moredeciding on a lovely Dulce de Leche cinnamon roll and ordered a skim decaf latte to go with it. After clarifying that a Dulce de leche cinnamon roll is a cinnamon roll (there was a voice of two different cinnamon rolls, so it made sense to me to be specific), I was asked if I wanted it heated, which of course I did. I then caught that a regular coffee (rather than a latte) had been rung up. While I was typing my phone number to register for repeat customer rewards another person came in. While I was typing the cashier rang up the other customer cancelling my entry. This does not matter, actually, because the roll, while the frosting looked like it had been heated was stone cold and stale (clearly the icing had been touched or brushed somehow) and I would be crazy to return and spend money the amount I did, which unfortunately included a generous tip. This was before I realized that four workers could not focus on their jobs enough to incorporate a new potentially repeating customer into their morning routines.

I'm always looking for a great coffee shop in the Ann Arbor area where I can get some work done and…read moreenjoy a delicious breakfast and coffee. After thoroughly searching Yelp, Google, and Reddit, I decided to check out Moonwinks this time. I arrived right as they were opening at 8 am and immediately loved the parking lot and plentiful seating inside. They also have some outside seating. Ann Arbor seems to have quite a few of these cafe/bar combination concepts so I think this spot turns into a bar in the evening. I ordered the Sammy's best (bacon, egg, spinach, tomato, swiss, and garlic aioli) on an asiago bagel as well as an oat milk latte. They brought my order out to my table when it was ready. The wifi was super fast and I was able to get quite a bit of work done. The bagel sandwich was super tasty and the asiago bagel was the cheesiest I've had in awhile! The garlic aioli gave it a bit of a zip and I really enjoyed this. The latte was smooth and creamy, not the best I've ever had, but it did the trick. I'm so glad I gave this spot a chance and will definitely be back the next time I'm in town. It was getting pretty busy by 9 am, so get there early if you'd like a table.

I like Drip House. I'm happy it's here. However, I don't know if I would be coming much if there…read morewas another coffee shop within a short walking distance. The main thing Drip House has going for it is that it is effectively the only coffee spot to sit and study or meet someone right by the stadium (where a bunch of us live and/or work). It is also open into the early evening when a lot of other coffee spots aren't. And we do love an outside seating option. The service has always been just fine and it's a pretty cute spot (not to sound ridiculously nit-picky but while we're here--someone might wanna sheer some of the many dead leaves off the beautiful plant inside though). Also, the banana oat latte they had as a special a couple months ago was delicious. So yummy. Some things I don't love about Drip House: the blue chairs. So uncomfortable. It is expensive and, dare I say, overpriced. The first time I got my $14 piece of ricotta toast, it was delicious. And I figured, fine. It's $14 for a piece of bread with a little cheese and jam but it's so yummy, I'll splurge every once in a while and go with it. Plus, I can't eat tree nuts, so it is one of the few options for me. However, the second time I got it, it was most definitely not worth it. The "whipped" ricotta was just a sad, thin wet layer and there was practically no jam. I get it. It's expensive out here. We're living in the shadows of the avocado toast economy where espresso drinks cost minimum $7 and you effectively can't buy anything for less than $4. But just because you feel like you *can* doesn't mean you *should.* Paying $14 for a piece of bread.... Come on. It's insulting. It feels exploitative. Will i be going back? Yes, because of the proximity and sometimes a girl needs to go for a cute little walk to get a coffee--just to feel something. Would I if there was a competing coffee shop nearby? That remains to be seen. Also the size of the "large" iced drink. Come on guys.
