This ypsilanti coffee shop is conveniently located near downtown. The nitrocold brew is smooth and fruity and requires no added sweeteners like over roasted bitter coffee does. It also seems to have a absolute shhh ton of caffeine because I am BUZZIN afterwards. They also have an assortment of delicious local baked goods. Definitely worth a stop.

Love the communal aspect of this cute shop! We sat at a table where others were and was able to chat while enjoying treats and drinks! The tea is worth every penny! You get a small kettle with your tea so it's a lot to enjoy. The tea set is super cute however not that practical with the small mugs that get very hot and don't have a handle but still great. Our friends go every week and it was nice to visit while we were in town. The cinnamon bun was huge and we split one which was perfect!

Perfect little neighborhood spot for coffee, pastries and occasional sourdough breads from Ypsi local Birddog Bakery. Liv is conveniently located just off of Huron, in between Ypsilanti downtown and Depot Town. They have a wide variety of coffee drinks and the service is always friendly and amazing. I really like that they have e outdoor seating here. My latte was good. What really stood out was the Chipotle pastry (forgot they exact name). I have stopped by a few times to try both the pastries and coffee, and I would recommend both! I tried the Madeleine iced latte and surprised at how much it tasted like the actual cookie. The baristas are friendly and the environment is conducive to studying or hanging out with friends. read more

Super cute new coffee shop near downtown Ypsi! Love the vibe here, great outdoor seating with big garage doors with lots of lighting if you sit inside. They have tons of unique flavors you can add to your coffee! Free parking right outside and lots of seating if you decide to stay in. This is a great addition to the area. It is absurd when they act spiteful towards people that just are trying to express an opinion on how they would like better service. The atmosphere is lacking a welcoming feeling overall. I prefer not to spend my time here at all, since i have given this cafe too many chances, so one-star rating, since you were given fair chances to redeem the shop. read more

You'll have to ask if you wish to know the prices, on EVERYTHING, otherwise they're secret... or just pass your credit card and find out next month. Tipping is assumed. Sooo good! One of my favorite coffee spots now in Ypsi. Love the baked goods and all the lattes I have gotten are great. Love the flavor. The spot is cozy and not pretentious, staff is friendly. There's a cute community style table as well as lots of other smaller spots. The parking lot can be full but it's easy to find spots on the street. I'm excited to bring my laptop and do some work here in the summer. read more

I can spend my money at Cafe Liv, Hyperion, Sweetwaters and/or Vertex since this business does not seem to want or appreciate my business. The coffee and the service and the turnover of staff keeps getting worse and worse. The thousand-plus dollars I have spent each year for the past eight years can be much better spent at any of the other cafes that will only add a few minutes to my walk to get to (yes I love and frequent my local cafes!). The masala fries we had to send back for some more spice. They were kind of plain and wished they were hot. They just seemed like frozen crinkle cut fries with seasoning on top. Don't think we would get them again. The service was OK, but we did wait a while when we first walked in as they were on the phone and we weren't acknowledged right away. They were not busy and we were the only one in the restaurant. They had some nice music playing which added to the experience. Not sure we would return again, but you can give them a try for yourself.

Waxbar's ambiance used to lean heavily into the record store aesthetic, but now embraces the neighborhood bar/ dive bar style -- the upside is that there's a lot more seating available now! The drinks are still great, and represent a fairly good value overall! I appreciate the low-key nature of Waxbar, it's always a relatively cozy environment, the staff are friendly, and you can tell the regulars love it and will stay regulars for many years (if not decades) to come. I've sampled a lot of their drink menu in the past few years, but in the recent shift of ownership, I haven't tried as many adventurous cocktails. The most recent trip to Waxbar included a Black Manhattan, which was fun and a nice spin on the standard Manhattan. I'll definitely be back!
