I grew up in Marblehead and travel back quite frequently. I have all my old favorite places from muffins, roast beef, pizza to Asian food. This is the first time I tried muffins at Maria's as I only have been downtown... the shop was bright, clean and busy. The muffins were delicious, fresh tasty and the old big size muffins I use to get years ago. Extremely fresh, tons of blueberries, still warm and moist. I would give a 5 star however not the friendliest service for a small town place.

    Cold brew with oat milk

Service: I live in Marblehead now and this is my go-to coffee every single day. The staff are so kind and they've now remembered my order so when I walk in they say "the usual?". So sweet! When my parents came to help me move in, we came here every day for breakfast and Edgar (the owner I think?) seriously is the sweetest man on the planet. Always asks me how I am when I come in and has remembered me as well. Food: Their muffins are HUGE and so delicious! This summer they've had blueberry, blueberry oatmeal, banana, apple cinnamon, chocolate chip, cranberry orange, the list goes on! Their breakfast sandwiches on croissants are amazing. So buttery and soft. Their smoothies are also really delicious and refreshing, not packed with sugar like some other places! Coffee: I have never been a cold brew person bc I like really strong coffee but I make an exception for theirs. Seriously I've never had such good cold brew in my life and I've been to an aggressive amount of coffee shops! I am absolutely addicted to their cold brew. Overall, I can't recommend Java Sun enough. The experience is great, it's a cute, local place, and all their offerings are amazing.

Great coffee spot in Marblehead! They have tons of seating indoors. I ordered an iced mocha, it was delicious. Service was great!

My two favorite foods sound boring to some, but I can't help it -- I'm a savory food kind of…read moreperson. I love nachos and I love BLTs, and it's amazing how many places have managed to not do these two things well. I have never been able to find a place that can make a good BLT, until now! I needed a quick lunch today and went here on a whim because it was close by. I saw they were closing soon, but there were people inside so I headed in. Sometimes small, local coffee shops can feel drafty or unkempt or just lifeless. As soon as I walked in, I felt like I'd want to sit there for hours. The temperature was just right, and the ambiance felt friendly and warm. I acknowledged that they were closing soon and asked if I could still order a sandwich. They replied in a way that felt welcoming, and not like I was imposing on them (which some places, 15 minutes prior to closing, would have). I ordered the BLT and used the restroom while I waited. Even the restroom was pleasant! I sat in one of the two window bays on a comfortable stool (again, perfect! sometimes they're way too high for a 4'10" to get up on, or off), with a complimentary cup of water (I love when cafes have serve yourself water). One of the servers brought my sandwich over and even on first glance I could tell it was going to be good. No wilted lettuce, no weird bread, perfect amount of mayo and bacon. It was the best BLT I've had at a restaurant, even better than I make at home. So, 5 stars for great ambiance, friendly, unrushed service, and a great BLT! I have no doubt that their other food is just as good.

Very small, intimate place only open for brunch hours next door to the Marblehead little theatre. Also tried the pumpkin spice latte. Another win. Place is gonna be on my AM radar each day I'm here in town.

I was doing some research for coffee joints to hit up during our day trip. Blackcraft caught my eye…read moreso I made sure it was on my to go list for our Salem visit. After looking over their drink menu, I knew this coffee joint was a must go to spot. I didn't realize that this shop is in the back of Blackcraft Cult. A very beautiful but very dark store. I did mingle my way through the store to get to the coffee joint. I'm happy I didn't get too side tracked cause a mob of people came after me. After standing in line for a bit, it was finally my turn to head in. The shop is really small and has an 8 person limit inside. I was so excited I finally get to finally check it out. Walking in, I was mesmerized by how stunning this shop is. What caught my eye was the fireplace. Ughhhh, it's stunning! My dream fireplace. It's black, ornate and completely breathtaking. The dried flowers, the picture of the witches, the cute ghosts and the cauldron with more dried flowers had me daydreaming about having this fireplace in my living room. The beautiful chandelier illuminated the room. More dried flowers hung from the ceiling. All of it is just magical It's the most stunning coffee shop I have been to. I finally got my drink ordered. After looking over the menu earlier, I decided to go with the Slasher S'more. A dark chocolate toasted marshmallow latte wit all sorts of goodies on top.... how do you not want to get that? Magic mocha, Spellbound latte, Good Witch latte, whoever came up with these names and concoctions need an award. My drink was everything I had dreamt about. It was so good! It tasted just like a S'more. It was also crafted so delicately with toasted marshmallows, graham crackers and blood splatter. Stopping at this coffee joint was one of the highlights of coming to Salem today. I'm happy I was able to grab a drink, vibe out in the shop and be able to appreciate this stunning venue. I don't know if I'll ever be back but I can officially mark it off my bucket list.

That was pretty much the vibe, although there were fewer seasonal / spooky themed menu items than I would have guessed. There was a strong emphasis on pumpkin and fall drinks offered, which I'm not looking for in July. There is no separate entrance, you have to go through the Blackcraft clothing store. It's fun to look at and has some funky things - I've always wanted to check out the store anyways - but it smelled like moth balls to me which was wild for a clothing store, so I felt like I already had that smell in my nose while I was waiting for coffee and taking the first sips - not ideal. Service was pretty quick and kind of friendly. I got the Midsummer Latte, which was mostly raspberry flavored. It was the perfect level of sweet, but got a little weird tasting as it warmed up a little as I walked around the city in a heat wave, so make sure you drink this one pretty quick for the best effect! The freeze dried raspberry pieces on top were so tart and tangy, they'd catch me off guard every time I got one in my mouth but in a fun way! It made the flavor more authentic. The decor in the coffee shop was very fun, as were their take home coffee bag brew names (ex: Labrewbrew, lol!) It's a small coffee area and seemingly had no air conditioning, I was getting sweaty just standing around for the few short minutes it took to get my drink. I kept thinking the poor baristas must be so uncomfortable. Pricing was on the higher side ($9 and change including a tip for a medium ish sized specialty latte), but for such a touristy area I was (begrudgingly) expecting this. Overall I'd love to try it again, maybe next time getting the featured caramel apple drink that sounded good. Like a lot of places in Salem I experienced, it seems like they're just not super equipped for heat wave temperatures unfortunately.
