As a woman of color, it's very hard to find practitioners who know how to work with combination skin/hyper pigmented skin/hypersensitive, but I came here under the recommendation of one of my highly respected friends, who has followed Donna all over the place, but this young lady is hard to track down. I had to wait eight weeks to get an appointment but it was so worth it. Who goes to the spa on a Friday at 3pm when you want to be out at happy hour, but I was willing to wait and my skin is GLOWING! I had booked an IV drip treatment at the Ballston location, but they called me in the morning to let me know that they were out of some of the ingredients. They re-booked me for the Dupont location, then 20 mins later called me back to tell me that location was also out of the ingredients. Definitely disappointing. Highly recommend Javan and Margaryta! Called for a last minute neurotoxin appointment and they were able to see me within the hour. Margaryta gave me a very detailed consultation before injecting, which I didn't think I needed since this I've gotten neurotoxins before, but I am so glad I did. She was so nice, educational, and communicated everything in a way I actually understood. I didn't feel uncomfortable or like she was trying to get me to do more treatments once - I ended up getting Xeomin instead of my go-to Botox (which was actually cheaper!) and didn't do too much as I wanted a more natural looking result. Came here for a hydrafacial and really enjoyed it. I still can't get over the price of hydrafacials in this area compared to LA. I used to pay $100 for an hour in LA but in DMV it's double, or even triple at some places. So I called a few places and picked Javan because they were very friendly and helpful over the phone and the place is located close to my office. It was easy to get an appointment on a Friday so I stopped by after work to get my weekend started with glowy skin. My esthetician, Margaryta, was super sweet and explained each step she was taking and the products she was using. She was very thorough and made sure to be gentle around my nose since I was experiencing some redness in that area. The treatment room was small but clean and comfy. I think hydrafacials are the best for winter skin. It really helps with dehydrated or dull skin and if you keep up with it on a monthly basis, you'll see results. If you're looking for a deep cleansing type of facial with thorough extractions then get that in between hydrafacials. This treatment is really intended for hydration and gentle pore cleansing. The water container at the end is always interesting to look at. read more
