12/02/24 My Grandson had fallen on his 4 month old TREK bike and the brake handle had completely cracked, making one of the brakes inoperable. I think it was the rear brake. My husband dropped off the bike for repair. A few days later we called and found out that they had ordered the wrong brake handle. A week went by, and Jeff and Joe left voice messages that the bike was ready for pickup. We have a VERY HAPPY 8 year old Grandson. Thank you, once again to JAX! First time dealing with this business and hands down would highly recommend to all. We got a bike through the California e-bike incentive program and they helped my husband fill out and file paperwork, for his new bike and accessories. When that bike didn't work out, they called and explained that the bike didn't qualify, but quickly helped him select another while adjusting the new paperwork. came in today around 145 -230pm looking for a bike lock cable. You know to lock up bikes. As soon as my employee and I came in we saw about 10ish people in the store stop what they were doing and stare us down. I looked around the store for the bike locks and saw what looked like them and started walking towards them. I was then approached by an older blonde lady and asked what I was looking for. I told her cabled bike locks. She looked me up and down and told me ... yea not for you. Even though I was staring at the product. Without making a scene I left with my employee. Seemed a little racial if you ask me it was super unsettling and unwelcoming. I did look them up on the website prior to this and it shows that they have it available. I'm going to be honest this bicycle shop lacks a lot of things, heres a list. 1. Out of touch customer service. Most of the staff here are not big cycling fans of road bicycles or anything that's not a mosey style ride or MTB ride. Mechanics here tend to be very antisocial and almost seem like they have some sorta form of autism The inventory is laughable... You better only like Trek bikes and their house accessory brand Bontrager, cause that's 85% of their inventory. This is merely my opinion, but this shop feels more like a Wal-Mart style bike shop compared to the type of bicycle shops I've experienced in Los Angeles County and Orange County. No hate here. I just wish I was able to find a long-lasting relationship with a local bike shop in you guys. read more

Brought in Ole Kilroy to get the back tire looked at, estimated, and repaired. Additonally, needed a new tube for another tire as well. Walked in, headed to maintenance, signed in, waited about 5 minutes to be greeted by service tech Natalie. As soon as Natalie noticed me waiting she came right over and asked how she could be of service. I let her know what was going on and she was happy to help. She got the cruiser up, throughly inspected the tire, and fixed the issue in less than 5 minutes. Next, she looked at the other tire to see if the old tube was bad which it was. She immediately replaced the old tube with a new one also less than 5 minutes, awesome! She was friendly, kept me informed, and had light conversation about life, which helped bypass the time and made me feel valued. The saying is true a little goes a long way... All in all, I was in and out in 15 mintues. Natalie, was polite, professional, and took excellent care of me. She also did not charge for diagnosis and the maintenance for the first tire. This shop is the best around! I purchased my Trek fuel ex 7 back in June 2023 with Craig. Craig was very kind and polite and also very patient. We went on some test rides and he made sure I was comfortable on the bike that I was purchasing. I now take my bike to the shop for every service and other issues I may encounter. Came in on Christmas Eve for a last minute gift because Santa was running late, and glad I did. No issues finding the store or a parking spot right outside. Was initially greeted by a friendly elf whose name I don't recall, and was ultimately cared for by a kind man named Craig. From the little bit of research I did, prices seem to be market rate, not sure there's much room for adjustment there while still being competetive, however, the service and my entire experience was exceptional. The employees were all friendly and knew their stuff. I was guided to make the best decision and wound up getting a bike that will last my son for many years as he transitions from training wheels to soaring away without them! We're so lucky to live close to this business. When I brought my newly purchased used fold up bike in for repair the folding mechanism was frozen since it hadn't ben closed for many years according to the original owner. Within minutes Natalie and Casey got it working and showed me how to open and close it so it wouldn't freeze up again. They were kind, patient and refused any payment for their service. Great customer service is so unusual these days. I recommend this business highly and am happy to know all of our future cycling needs are taken care of. read more

Bought a tri bike off of FB marketplace. Rear derailleur snapped off on my first ride/first downshift from the front derailleur. Ripped through spokes on the rear wheel, twisted the chain. Jax had a sale on cassettes and chain, and they had the tools for replacement as well as the shifter cable. The staff was helpful and encouraged me to keep working on the new project as it would be a good learning opportunity. They were right! They have a lot of parts in stock if you need them and if you know what you need. Helps to call first too though, but they were always willing to help read more

This place did not pass the vibe check! Another corporate shop with hoyty toyty employees that aren't even bike people. Their Trek Fitting machine is very inaccurate. I'm 6'0 with a 32" inseam. This thing said I was 5'10 with a 28" inseam and I should be riding a 54cm or medium bike. Guy blamed it on me being bald and not wearing jeans. TF!? Mind you I wasn't even interested in being fitted since I already know my size, guy just wanted to show off their machine... Fail! I feel bad for people who relied on this machine to find their bike size. On top of it as I was speaking to him he was too preoccupied with his cell phone and wasn't even responding. So I just left. Maybe I didn't fit their demographic of customers they'd like to have in their store. All good, because I definitely won't be back. read more

It's super hard to find any small hybrids for women during this pandemic. My husband called 40 shops all around LA through SD and even central CA. He got a voice message from a woman stating there were a few small bikes in stock. When we called back, the worker couldn't look up the bikes in stock and the lady didn't return our call... so we just decided to drive 1 hour and 30 mins to check it out! The wait wasn't long (5 mins) and only a few customers were allowed at the same time. Casey was my salesperson and he was knowledgeable, helpful, and had an easy going personality. I got my bike and waited an hour for inspection. Everything was smooth and fast! Thanks for all your help Casey!! We bought a 951 MTB from another vendor a few weeks ago and unfortunately broke a part during assembly. Called this shop looking for the part and were told they had something that would work. Upon arrival, we were greeted promptly and the part was quickly installed by mechanic Natalie. Natalie also helped us with the final assembly steps, at no charge. The staff also helped us select a new rack. We were only charged for the rack and the needed part. Today, we returned to the shop for some help with minor adjustments. We arrived before their posted start time and staff immediately opened the doors and greeted us. Again, Natalie assisted with the necessary adjustments and also provided technical advice. She worked on the bike for 30-40 minutes and thoroughly explained each step she took. We were pleasantly surprised when again we were not charged anything. I had stopped in at Jax Murrieta a few years ago for something minor. They were very helpful. Last week, I decided to replace my mountain bike with a new Trek model. I was unsure which of two models to buy, so I had some questions. The sales associate Thai (Ty?) helped me to determine whether a Marlin 5 or a Marlin 6 would be best for my needs. We took them both on a brief test ride. Thai was very knowledgeable about the product capabilities, answered my questions, but never pushed me to buy anything. He also made several accessory recommendations. Again, he was responsive to my comments and needs and never pushed anything. The Marlin 5 model in the color I wanted was still in a box, so they had to assemble it. I was promised it by 4:30 the same day, and it was delivered in perfect condition when I picked it up the next day. Five stars to these guys. Expensive bikes are expensive bikes. Jax has a quality service department with knowledgeable techs and sales reps. There's not a lot of diversity in stock, mostly Trek. Trek makeshifts amazing product but more options in the lower price range - under $1500 - would be great. Not everyone can swing $1500 + for a new ride. I'm aware they don't set pricing but management should look to stock a variety of bikes. The BMX and kids selections leave a lot to be desired. Having said all that, I'd buy another bike from Jax because of their service department alone. They have a fair amount of accessories in stock as well. Good location is central to Murrieta near Harveston, little trek (no pun intended) for Temecula folks. read more

We've been to other Jax stores and they're all consistent with the staff they hire. It's hard to find great people, and they do a great job in this area. The store was organized and well stocked. Worst customer service ever! I went in with my boys. And an older tall man who I think was the owner helped us out. He made a comment that really bothered me. I told him I didn't want to spend more then $400 for each bike. I was going to buy 2. I told him jokingly how boys can get expensive. He then said, "Yes, but not like girls and their expensive Quinceañera Junk" and he continued to make other rude comments. I couldn't believe it! Im Mexican, so that really bothered me. I took my wife's bike in for a tune-up on Friday 3/7. During inspection they found that I needed a new chain which i expected. The chain was $45 plus $20 to install it. When I got home I looked for the same chain on Amazon and it was $30. 40% more than Amazon is ridiculous. They told me when I dropped it off, they scheduled the tune-up for Monday and would call me to come pick it up. On Wednesday afternoon I called for a status update. They said that they were not going to even try to explain why they have not even put the bike on a rack yet. I told him NOT to put the bike on the stand and that I was coming to pick it up. When I got there, the bike was on the stand and a tech was working on it. I asked him "didn't I tell you not to put it on the stand?" he told me I wasn't going to be charged. I told him to get the bike off the stand and give it to me. I have bought 3 road bikes from this Jax prior with no issues. the service has been a mess more than 3 times out of about 7 times bringing it in. No more chances Jax. No More. read more

I purchased an Electra Townie from Jax. I spoke with Sherry, the sales manager. I told her that I was going to buy a conversion kit to make it an electric bike. She thought it was very cool and even told me to bring it by so she could "check it out". I just called them up to see if they can adjust the gear shifter on it and the manager Jordan told me they won't touch it now and it's out of warranty. Sherry is now denying what she said to me (go figure)!! This is HORRIBLE customer service! Had I known this was the case I would have never bought the bike and converted it in the first place! This is a class act place! The customer service was amazing. Made us care about us and the bike even after the sake of the bike. The first break in service is included in the sale. We were treated like our business really mattered which is so rare these days: I called before coming down to buy a bike for my son for Christmas and the sales person spent 10 min with me on the phone directing me to The manufacturers website where I could visually see the colors that were available in stock in the store and they even offered to have the bike ordered in a different color and shipped for pick up. Just came here a couple weeks ago with my brother to drop his bike off for a repair. They're only assisting one person inside at a time so we had to wait outside for a bit... but they at least offer cold bottle water outside which was a nice gesture. Jordan helped us out and explained what needed to be done to repair his bike... quoted us about a week or two and a really fair price. We paid half as a deposit and left.
