I've only been here once so take it with a grain of salt. Came on a Sunday around 3:30. There were maybe 3 tables. When we walked in no one greeted us so we went to find a seat and then some guy showed us the sign that said please wait to be seated pretty rudely (it was turned around not even open for the public to see) - Luckily we looked at him weird "like who are you" and then a hostess greeted us so we were done with him - which is good. Really hope he wasn't the owner because that's not how you greet someone, especially when there's three tables filled only. Regardless - We opted to sit in the movie room - hence my blue photos. The service was really long, but we got our waters, and a drink each and watched a movie while we waited for our order. Server said the burgers are excellent. I got the double cheeseburger. I promise you, it was the worst meat I'd tasted in a very long time. Why? It was completely over seasoned with salt and pepper - I am talking inedible...Could not finish it. Stopped in for a quick lunch and was completely surprised by the theater in the back. Choose your own movie order some food and just relax. Movies have to be PG13 or less but still pretty cool. The service was good. Plenty of staff to help. I had the polish plate and the pierogi and potato pancake were outstanding. The stuffed cabbage was also good. Definitely a new place to stop by when you are in the area for lunch. The place was nicely decorated and the back area where the theater is a little dark but nothing a phone light can't cure when reading the menu. There is street parking. read more

I came in and bought 2 scoops of ice cream and gave a tip, I then asked if I could sit down in the back of the completely empty restaurant, I was told no and that the seating was only for "fully dine in customers only" if I would've known I couldn't sit down I wouldn't have came in, in the first place. Wings and fries for a quick dinner and can watch a movie (didn't stay for the whole movie). Sweet spicy wing sauce was good. Wings a little small though. Very very attentive server. Hubby and I arrived midday and found the diner with few customers. We chose the back room with the movie since it was an option for lunch. Mandie N seated us and suggested a movie she thought we'd like (popular children's cartoon). Hubby ordered the Zuzu's Got Beef with fries and a sweet tea. I ordered a Solon with Onion Rings (extra). The Solon includes a runny egg and bacon--which was actually quite tasty. During the time we waited, a trio came in with one small boy. When we finally got our order, I discovered the onion rings (although they look good in the pic (couldn't see them in the dark, of course), were over-cooked and the batter hard. Hubby, now an admitted light-weight was not able to finish his sandwich, although he thought it was also tasty. It was explained that the server was alone, performing all duties and we allowed as how it might have been a problem handling the food orders with waiting tables, although hubby's fries were great. A different experience and one you might try, particularly if there is additional staff on hand. read more

Long wait for food, service was sub par. Came here for lunch before a VB tourney. Thought we'd have plenty of time because we had an hour until we needed to leave. Was seated quickly in the back room. Cute room with a movie playing on a big tv. There were two other tables occupied in the back when we got there. Ordered drinks and those came within 10 mins. Ordered food when drinks were brought out. We ordered a kids chicken nugget and fries, a kids cheeseburger and fries, a regular hamburger, 8 bone in wings, and the 3 pierogi's. 40 mins later and still no food. At this point we had 10 mins before we needed to leave so we asked the waitress if she had an idea of when food would be out. She said it would be just a little bit longer. 5 mins later, still no food, so I took the two girls and we ended up going to McDonalds next door because they were starving and needed to get to VB. My husband stayed at the restaurant to wait for the food. So after getting McDonald's, dropping girls off 10 mins away, and then coming back to the restaurant our food was still not ready!! 10 more mins and finally food arrived. No silverware, no napkins, no condiments. Even asking for ketchup the waitress forgot and this happened to the other tables as well as its a small back room and you can hear them asking for the same items. Food was ok, nothing amazing. Unfortunately I wanted to give this spot a better reviews but me and my friend came in and sat down on a Saturday at 2pm, there was a table of four in the back, and us two. We put in our order after the table of 4, and I can see into the kitchen the entire time. Why did it take the one cook an entire HOUR (we timed it) to even touch the ticket, by that time we were both over it and hungry so we cancelled the order and left. I'm sad to say I was not impressed with this place. The one positive thing about it is it's diner style decor. They do have movies playing in the back room which is good for the kids to be entertained. Next on this review is the customer service rating. They were severely understaffed on the day I came in only having one server while the other was doing door dash orders apparently . Every time we wanted service from our server for refills etc she took forever to get back to us. Lastly, the food experience was blah I had a burger and cheese fries. The burger didn't have much of a taste whatsoever. The cheese from the cheese fires had a weird after taste. I did enjoy the diner type ambiance however I want to enjoy the food I'm paying for. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. The customer was nearly as terrible as the food that was served. At no point did any server nor the owner asked me if my food was okay even though I only took one bite and pushed it aside. Even when cashing out I was not asked how my food or experience was. I am not one to ask for a discount however I do feel it should have been offered. The cost of the meal was a lesson learned and as a local resident I will not only choose not to return but I will advocate that no one else in the community dines at this establishment. read more

The owner is not nice! The waitress told us we could pull tables together . Then what we are supposing is the owner comes in the back stares at us and says no, you cannot do this there needs to be a walk way. We said we were sorry the waitress said we could. He says they don't know any better!!. Then tells us to just leave it. Then he comes back 30 mins later after we moved the tables apart because he scolded us and yelled at us again that they were not far enough apart! So, my three stars are an Aggregate of several factors. Location is 4.5 stars, being almost in Crown Point town square, you still feel like you are there! Food, well, hard to mess up a chili cheese dog and fries. Service is what brought the score down. You walk in, nobody waiting to order and three workers allowing you to stand lost, 3 feet away from the ordering location which is not marked. Until someone else went up to order, I was ignored. I order a chili cheese dog with everything and get a chili cheese dog with just that. I brought it back to ask for mustard and onions and they lectured me on how there is no everything. I would expect when ordering for them to kinda give me a clue? Also, I interacted with 2/3 staff and they both gave me an unhappy impression. Especially the cashier, epic fail!! This is an amazing place to go. The food is phenomenal. The owners and employees are so kind and caring, and the movie room that they have in the back is such a wonderful addition to the whole place. right now it is all dressed up for Christmas and it is like a Winter Wonderland in there. If you're looking for American cuisine in Crown Point that isn't a violation of the Geneva Convention, do yourself a favor and try Station 21, One13 North, or literally anywhere else including McDonalds or the Speedway Gas Station. We wanted to grab a quick bite to eat with our kids in between shopping at the stores on the square. We had to wait about 40 minutes to get two burgers, a hot dog and a cheesesteak sandwich. The food was only ok. I'm not sure if they were low on help, but with only 5 tables, it seemed like service could have been more attentive. Fast forward to the food order first ones in last ones to order we waited about another 10 min for the waitress to come to our table to take our order after she got everyone else that just arrived . The food was mediocre and service was very poor. Was never checked on or asked if we wanted refills multiple times the waitress walked by and completely ignored us. Had to walk up to the counter ourselves to get our condiments and refills seemed to be quicker that way . Decor on the inside is really fun - super diner-y and retro. Meals are expensive, though. Gyros combo meal had a skimpy quantity of meat. My sloppy joe was small and over $5 just for the sandwich! The unsweetened iced tea tasted syrupy and off. They have Valpo Velvet ice cream, which can't be beat. As an aside, no matter what your leanings, I don't think ANY business should have their political affiliations on display. So the Mitt Romney bumper sticker taped to the front of the register annoyed me. read more

My friend and I split a Philly Cheesesteak and a Pulled Pork. Next time I will have to try something else because I am picky when it comes to these two things. The cheesesteak to me was really just an Italian beef. It was small and not very filled with meat or cheese. It was still tasty but not a good Philly. If I was dead set on having a good Philly I would have been bummed. The pulled pork was okay, it again was pretty tiny. I think I ate 1/2 in less than 3 bites. Bun was smushy, sauce was sweet and pork was kind of mush too. Next time I would try something else, perhaps a hot dog. Like I said, I am pretty particular about these 2 food items. Fantastic burgers, awesome hotdogs, amazing pizza puffs, and the greatest gyros and french fries I have ever had! Not to mention, they have an awesome beer selection. This is one of my absolute favorite places. The staff is great. I have been coming here for years and it feels as if the staff and I are family. The staff is always so kind and helpful, even when they have some crazy nightlife. This place stays open until 4 a.m. on weekends. The only issue that I have ever had with this place is that they are not open on Sundays.
