Wow. Absolutely thrilled we found this place. My wife and I have honestly been trying to find good food in NWI and we definitely found Angie's to be incredible! My wife had chicken and waffles, our daughter had the kids pancake (Mickey shape!) and I had the Shrimp and Grits - and you know I had to pair it up with some Cajun sausage mixed in too. Food was spectacular! We couldn't stop raving about the fried chicken. Honestly we found it on par with Roscoe's in LA - certainly better than LoLo's in Phoenix and Houston. Service was top notch as well. They really made sure we were well taken care of! We loved the fun Easter decorations as well. You can tell the owner takes pride in their restaurant. My husband ordered the chicken fried steak. It was smothered in gravy and delicious. It came with eggs (over easy), potatoes and pancakes. All good. I ordered an omelette. I asked for EASY cheese. It was too cheesy. Most places make it too cheesy. So I ate it until I got to the too cheesy part and took the rest home for him to eat later. My hash browns? So good. We had to check this place out for breakfast after seeing a line out of the door one day. It's a great find and luckily we caught it on a rainy morning which likely deterred the crowd. The menu has options for many from sweet and savory options and the crisp on the fried fish was excellent, one thing that was lacking was some seasoning which required a little extra attention once it got to the table but I'd love to go back! So glad our friends recommended this place to us! We went on a Friday morning and the place was pretty chill and not overly crowded. We were greeted right away with good energy. I was a 5 year customer, spending thousands of dollars there in that time, no more. Angie did what many small businesses are doing, incentivize cash payment by upcharging credit card use. As a person who has owned a number of small businesses, I don't agree from a customer service perspective, but it is her right. So I bring cash, just like the business has requested. Today, I am paying a $37 bill and the waitress hands me back 40 singles as part of the change, I cannot even fit it in my wallet. She says that is what the register has, and I ask to use my card instead, just waive the fees since I brought cash but they failed to have reasonable bills as change. I am pretty sure that if I brought all coins to pay my bill it would be frowned upon. Angie comes out and refuses to waive the $1 ish fee and says she now doesn't have time to go get other bills from her office and I should have known better because I see this is a new waitress. WTF? This business asks me to pay cash, doesn't prepare for that ask ahead of time and then will not accept another legitimate form of payment without surcharging me? read more

I've heard great things about this place, so I thought that I would give it a shot since it is about 3 minutes from my house. The place is very small so if there is a wait it is just crammed in there. So be prepared to stand out side or wait in your car. Which is great but hard to tell who i was tipping. The food was not that great, I ordered the Patty Melt with jalapeños. The patty was under seasoned and it seemed like they grabbed a handful of pickled jalapeños and threw them on the bread. The bottom bun was soaked in jalapeño juice. I only ate about 1/2 of the sandwich and left the rest for the trash. The tater tots on the other hand were great nice and crispy the down side they were pretty bland. My wife got some breakfast food Eggs and sausage with Rye toast. She made no comment if the food was any good. I will say i tried the sausage and the flavor was pretty good. The down side is i like mine a little crispy on the outside and these definitely were not. That is just a personal thing so I'm not holding that's against them. Honestly I don't think ill come back.
