If you use a company where you don't have an agent, you're making a big mistake. You need someone who is looking out for you. Jay is an incredible agent who is always looking out for you. After asking all the necessary questions to find out what your needs are, he then explains all of the available coverages. He also will tell you, in no uncertain terms, the minimum coverage you should have. He doesn't over-recommend so he can make more money. He tells you, honestly and with explanations, what makes sense. If you don't want to follow his advice (mistake), that's fine. Quick update to my review. I am in the middle of a claim. It's complicated. Jay has been there with me constantly. No money I might have saved by going to some 800 number or website could compare to the value of having Jay's help and reassurance. And, from the perspective of filing a claim, I can even better appreciate the advice he gave me long before the accident ever occurred. As a young lawyer I was told by a wise old lawyer, "A lawyer is like a thermostat. The job is to keep the client comfortable." Jay has always kept me comfortable. He's one great guy. Horrible staff. Extremely unhelpful and rude. If I could provide a zero star rating, I would. I have been with a wonderful state farm agent in San Francisco for over 10 years and was frankly surprised by the lack of professionalism and courtesy that this office displayed. Called to get renter's insurance for my sons in DC. I am an existing State Farm customer in another state. Woman who answered clearly not service oriented and definitely acted as if writing a policy would be a burden on her. Really didn't even seem interested in giving me a quote. I hung up and called another agent who seemed interested in the business. Don't understand businesses that act so negatively, like they're doing me a favor. Waste of my time. read more

We had our brand new (2 weeks old) CRV stolen from our garage, we were involved in several auto accidents, our basement flooded and many more incidents in the past eight years. Every time I contacted Jay's State Farm claims department to file the claims and I have had nothing but outstanding service from the people I have talked regarding any claim. I had a rental car within a couple of hours of filing the stolen car claim. The claim department responsible for paying for the CRV was in touch the same day. Within a few days, the claim was settled. And everyone was absolutely amazing. I have been with State Farm since the 80's and fortunately the customer service I receive has been amazing. We are so very glad that We have Jay as our agent and will recommend them to anyone that needs insurance. read more

We've had a couple of policies with Jay and his staff for a few years now and we've never had a problem. We have never filed a claim, but we have switched auto carriers, made additions, changes, etc. over the years and we have always found the staff to be attentive and easy to reach (if they are busy on the phones just email them) - Jay especially. He's answered our questions, very thoroughly, at all hours; even answering questions that I had before I knew to ask them. I've been with State Farm for years now and have been meaning to shop around to see if there are better prices out there but I've been too lazy. Just had a very bad experience with the staff. The staffer couldn't answer my questions and instead of trying to find out the answer, she hung up on me. I emailed Jay Frye about it and basically was told it was my fault that the staff didn't understand what I was asking for and that I dont know the DC laws on condo rules going into effect July 2015. What the heck? Take your money to another state farm office. This office doesn't deserve your hard earned dollars. read more

Couldn't agree with Nicole more! The staff is incredibly rude, unhelpful, inaccessible and inept. It was almost impossible to connect with someone at an appropriate time. They cannot figure out how to connect auto and home policies and they don't know how to bill clients properly. I was not going to write a review after I had such terrible experiences but saw that they clearly had "friends" post favorable reviews. read more
