So I bought a replacement ice maker from Lowes and went to install it, but the ice maker was the wrong model. So I began looking on-line and discovered A-1 Appliance Parts in Huntsville. A-1 is a satellite location from the main A-1 Huntsville office and the satellite location is adjacent from the Space & Rocket Center...easy to find...look for the Saturn V rocket. A-1 is located is a small strip mall on Old Madison Pike, nothing fancy, just a typical appliance parts business. I stopped by at lunch and the gentleman behind the counter took my model number and searched the parts database to identify the correct ice maker model number. After checking his stock he went and retrieved the unit from shelf. He allowed me to open the box to check the connector plug to validate that it was the correct unit...yes it was. I joked with him about half-price Tuesdays and he said he would give me a price break...which he did. He then resealed the box to ensure I didn't lose any parts on the way home. So far, so good! Got home and installed the replacement ice maker with no problems. I had a great experience with A-1 Appliance Parts and recommend them if you need appliance parts.

We had relocated from another state. When the washer was unpacked and connected, the soap dispenser…read moredrawer would not open. I called A & A, and was given an appointment range between 7 and 12 the next day. Some would say that is a big range, but consider that this is a 1-person small business. Each appointment could take from a few minutes to a long time to troubleshoot. There would be no way to lock in a short span for arrival time. Turns out she called me around 8 in the morning and said she was on her way and would see me in about 45 minutes. She arrived as promised. Curious, I asked how many service calls she made each day. She responded she had 9 that day. Point made. Within 15 minutes, the top was off the washer and she found that the soap cup had jammed the drawer, probably due to abusive handling during the move. The washer was put back together and the drawer worked perfectly. I mentioned that the mover didn't seem to do a very good job installing the dryer vent hose. She checked and found the hose was compressed in a sharp bend. She mad some position adjustments and made the hose is right. I was exceedingly happy about this because improper dryer venting can cause wear and tear and other safety-related problems. She noted physical damage on the invoice for purposes of our claim to the movers - the washer/dryer were about 3 months old. The charge for the visit was very reasonable. The relief to our angst was huge! Would we be return customers? You bet! Can we recommend A & A? Absolutely.

He completed the repairs within an hour as he had the parts on the truck. He said that he had been out in the cold since morning and had completed his last service call a few hours earlier, but he did not want anyone left in the cold, especially children. That was the response I got from at least 4 other services before making my way down the list to Weaver's Appliance Repair. I was not put on hold, I was not referred to a voice menu (like SO many others), and my call was not sent to an answering service. I got a live person who listened to the symptoms of my refrigerator and told that someone would be by to see about it the next day! I was also given a window of 12:00 to 4:00 that afternoon which exceeded my expectations. Mr. Weaver went right to work and told me that I would need a new refrigerator. He also told me that he could fix it but it would be more expensive than buying a new one. He was honest, forthright, and had integrity. He looks young but is very experienced and I would not hesitate to call him again for ANY appliance repair needs that I need. You can't go wrong!!
