Big O Tires...Holler!…read more En route from Colorado to Cali we got a fast leaking tire. Seriously, without the Gods watching above us, we would have been totally screwed. Right place right time to get a flat. We were in Richfield, UT when the tire went almost entirely flat. Thankfully - we overfilled it one last time and hauled it to Big O! I called the tow shop up and they pick me & my 24" car trailer up with-in 30 minutes. I live almost 1,200 miles away in Springfield Nebraska. So I had to leave my truck with them to have a transmission put into it. They got the job done in less then a week. I rented a U-Haul van to pull my trailer back home with the wife at my side. I drove back down to get my truck with a friend by using a Enterprise one way rental car. My truck ran fantastic all the way back home the 1,200 miles. I even think it got better fuel mileage on the way back. So today I ordered them Pizza for lunch, I hope they like Domino's Pizza because Lotsa Motsa wasn't open. My wife and I were in the middle of our month long road trip when, while stopping in Richfield to…read morereplace a flat tire, the car suddenly died in the parking lot of a hotel. Being it was a Friday Night at about 8pm, and Richfield is not the largest community, we were pretty stressed about being able to find a place to fit us in on Saturday morning, as we especially did not want to lose three days of travel and sightseeing time waiting around until Monday. After calling half a dozen garages, we were finally put in touch with Grako's, who may also have another name that I can't now remember. Gary, the Manager, who I believe was also the owner of this location (they also have one in Price, UT), said he believed he could fit us in on Saturday afternoon. After getting the car towed the 1/10 of a mile to his shop (LOL), we waited around for a while. Gary, and the technician Josh were very polite to us throughout the entire affair, advising us on where to get food downtown, the estimated time until we could be looked at etc. while we sat in their waiting area. They informed us that the starter was indeed dead, a troubling conclusion as we had literally had it replaced the day before in Moab, UT. The shop there was less than cooperative with helping my wife and I with the necessary information we needed to move things along over the phone, and the same went for the parts place who needed to bring down another one as it was under warranty. Gary and Josh did their best to make sure that everything was eventually straightened out for us; taking care of just about every need two weary travelers 2500 miles from home could need. After everything was all said and done, Gary even took a quarter hour off the job (which, being billed an hour for the starter was already a fair price), because his technician finished it earlier than the allotted time. I can honestly say that I have never had a nicer experience with any mechanic's shop anywhere. Gary and Josh made every possible effort to assist us in getting our trip back underway, and did so while being polite, courteous, friendly, and professional. They did offer to fix the truck if I purchase it. So I made a very good offer. Ultimately offering 24,000 cash/check. They listed it at 24,900. Unfortunately the floor manager did not except my offer. Instead told me how they can just "give" the truck away. I asked about them offering a warranty on the vehicle they state in the website. It Also states the do 171 point inspection on all vehicles before they hit the lot. This was obviously not true. The "Manager acted like he had the holy grail of trucks. This was a ten year old used vehicle.. I asked if I could talk to the owner about the final decision and was given the run around. I am Honestly shocked how this place operates. I am a business owner/operator with over 27,000 successful sales with a 5 star rating. So I know a little bit about sales and customer service.The only positive thing that came from my experience at this location. Is now I know where not to buy my future personal and business vehicles when I move my business and family back to my home state and county!
