We dined inside, the cooked fried chicken under the warmer was beautiful. The fried chicken & fried gizzards were great. Their creamy cole slaw had a little different flavor & was very good. Absolutely the worst service in town. And it's consistent. You honestly expect that it's one of those theme restaurants where they are purposely rude and flippant in their attitude towards the customer. I'm not sure I've ever heard a thanks or thank you for coming or have a nice day or any single polite mannerism. And I've been a regular for a very very long time. And the food is pretty decent but I just can't get past the attitudes. So I'm done with Jays. And that doesn't even take into consideration that they now add a 3% fee for using a debit or credit card. Goodbye Jays. read more

Me and my husband went here yesterday around 11 a.m. The food was amazing as always. The staff was constantly checking to make sure food trays were full. And steam table was clean. This is our favorite place to go when in Sikeston. A+ all the way. read more

Second time visit and this time I did take out. Service was excellent and chicken was warm and tastey when I returned to the motel.

Their breakfast is our favorite. They have great chicken biscuits, omelets, pancakes, and biscuits & gravy. They also have good chicken & dumplings. The restaurant is a little outdated but the staff is always friendly. The prices are pretty reasonable too. read more

My friend turned me on to Jay's chicken in 2008 every since then it has been history. If you are craving good chicken look no further Jay's has the best . If you are thinking of trying Jay's do it they won't let you down the chicken is great! But a must try are there chicken gizzards by far the best I have ever had anywhere! Nice local spot with friendly people. It was fast and very reasonably priced. The chicken was breaded and fried well, but the quality of the chicken was average and not very meaty. 3 piece dinner was a leg, back, and wing and similar to KFC extra crispy. The slaw was tasty, but the biscuit, mashed potatoes and gravy were all standard food service issue. I would give it another try when in town again, but was expecting more scratch cooking. read more
