I was 50 miles from home, on my way to a music festival with the car packed to the gills for camping, when my Subaru threw a rod and left a streak of oil and metal 100 yards long down the highway. I called AAA and because I was in a dangerous spot they prioritized my recovery. They sent Jaz's Towing and told me to expect them in 30 minutes. Scott, the owner, arrived in only 20 with a tilt-back to haul my AWD vehicle. (And he phoned to let me know when he was 10 minutes away. Sweet!) When he arrived, I had friends running about 30 minutes behind me so Scott used the time to look the vehicle over and gather up the stray pieces of motor(!). He was happy to wait with me for my friends to arrive rather than leave me sitting on the hill along the highway. When they did arrive, he helped me unload my vehicle (and seriously, I'm not talking a tent and a sleeping bag, this was a complete camping compound with tent, cots, tables, chairs, multiple coolers, kitchen -- the works) and move everything into my friends' 5th wheel all while trucks are whipping by at 80 mph a couple of feet from us. Then he helped me dismount the Thule, disassemble the dog grate and stow the Thule inside the vehicle. He hauled the Subie back to my mechanic in Frederick while I continued west with my friends to continue my holiday. I can't speak to pricing because AAA picked up the tab, but Scott and Jaz's were timely, helpful, and totally customer-focused. He took what looked to be a bad day for me and helped to make it much, much better. That gets 5-stars in my opinion (And a healthy tip! :-) I've been towed a few times before over the years and this is by far the best experience I've had. I don't often break down when I'm driving, but if I ever do again, I sure hope it's in Hancock. :-) read more

Sometimes God just finds the right people to come into your life and Scott is one of those folks who fortunately AAA contacted to tow my daughter's Subaru Forester which broke down in the middle of nowhere on Thanksgiving Sunday at midnight. Scott made sure she found a hotel in the area and waited till a friend picked her up at his shop (at like 1 am!) Fortunately Scott had his own repair shop as we had a blown engine (ugh!) but Scott was confident that he could find a used motor and replace it for thousands less than us buying another used car. This took longer than planned (finding the right motor and parts given this was a 12 year old car) but everytime I called Scott for status he ALWAYS answered his cell phone and gave me a status update. He was always polite, respectful and professional in his conversations with me and I never felt like he was in a rush to get me off the phone. We now have the car back on the road for 4 months now without an issue. It recently passed inspection no problem. Scott said bring it back anytime if something goes wrong that he'd take care of it. Our car was not drive-able and was parked in the yard of my son's friend in PA. He tried to get it fixed by another friend of his, but that didn't work out. I vaguely understood what had happened to it and was concerned that the engine might have been damaged and need to be replaced. I finally decided to resolve the matter myself and get the car towed to Hancock if it could not be fixed at the site. I searched the internet hoping to find the help I needed. The pages here for Jaz's came right up in the search and after reading the reviews, I decided to see if he would work with me on getting the car back home and fixed. I needed the price to be affordable and worth investing in the car. So glad I made that call! Not only did he tow and fix the car, but he was very fair in what he charged me for all the work he put in, along with taking the time to explain what the problems were and weren't and why. What a relief to have finally found good, honest and professional mechanic and towing services in my area that I can trust. I broke down halfway into a 500 mile trip home on a rainy night. The fuel pump had shut down, After calling AAA for a tow I received a call from Scott the owner of the recovery service. I explained my situation and was looking for a place to sleep for the night and a town that had an auto parts store so I could repair the truck in the morning. He was able to assure me the town he was located in had all I needed. His driver dropped the truck in a local lot and made and dropped me in the local motel. The next morning Scott checked in on me and helped me contact the local parts store and order what I needed. Through out my day he guided me(suggestions on where to eat, etc,) and at no point did I feel alone in my repairs. He and his driver both cared enough to follow through and make sure I was able to get underway again when there obligation ended with the tow the night before. Made it less than halfway to Pittsburgh from Rockville when alternator died. Stranded on 70 picking ticks off of each other in the tall grass and heat, we were thrilled to be picked up by Jaz's whom AAA arranged to tow us to a nearby service center. After dropping the car off at a closed business (no toilets or water for hours while we waited for our ride), our truck driver kindly dropped us off at the only open business in Hancock that hour on a Sunday where we could comfortably wait to get picked up from Pittsburgh relatives. Excellent service. Also seemed to feel sorry for our car who almost got the boot after her antics. We decided to keep her, for all she's worth. Thanks, Jaz's! read more

I was traveling from Pittsburgh to Virginia the other day and broke down on I 70 E. I was scared as the cars/trucks were flying by me and my vehicle was smoking. Thankfully Jamie (I think that was his name) arrived quickly and towed me to Culpeper Va., to the dealership I requested. He was pleasant to talk to and made a bad situation better. Scott is truly one of the best. My daughter broke down on her way back from Frostburg State University. Scott not only rescued her, but stayed with her and kept her safe until I got there to pick her up. I can't say enough positive things about him. He fixed up her car so we could bring it on home. We broke down at Sliding Hill at 8:00 on a Thursday night before Memorial Day weekend. Jaz's was the first listed on my phone for nearby auto repair services and we really lucked out! We drove to the shop in Hancock. Jaz's gave us a ride to a nearby hotel and picked us up in the morning and gave us a ride to Hagerstown to rent a car so we could continue with our weekend plans. Traveling late night for vacation and broke down on I-70, Scott made it out to us quickly! We avoided dead stopped traffic by making his way on the back roads. He dropped us at a hotel and even offered to help us fix it the next day.
