Passing through and the smell of BBQ drew me in. The customer service was good and the place was clean. Got the 3 meat plate, rib and brisket (x2) with potato salad and coleslaw for around $30 (Beer was $5.75). Potato salad and coleslaw were good. The meats were dry, even the brisket, and had no taste. a tampa icon no more. what used to be the best bbq in the area has fallen so far it is a true shame. like another reviewer noticed this does not seem to be the same owners and if so they have let things go. the food just is not the same. what used to be a good value is now luxury pricing. what used to be delicious is simply not anymore. what i used to travel from two counties away for is no longer visiting if i am in the area. the pork is dry as the sahara and has ZERO smoke flavor. no pink smoke ring anywhere in my or my friend's sandwich. somewhere between 50-70% of my sandwich was made up of burnt, dry brown edges that no amount of chewing could break down. this was probably the worst pulled pork sandwich i have ever tried eating in 52 years. i threw it away after three bites and picking through it realizing there was no better meat to be found there. my friend said his seemed slightly better but he had never eaten jazzy's when it was good and is not much of a bbq aficionado. pricing sucks now. a 12.50 sandwich should be packed full of tender meat. mine was a 1/2" pile of absolute garbage i would not feed my dog even if i was mad at him. what used to be a $4 pie is $7 now. if jazzy is still around he should fix this and if he is not then whoever is running things should actually honor his legacy read more

I haven't been here for a least 5 years. With that said I'm not sure if the old owners sold or not but the meat quality has dropped drastically! A Tampa icon. An iconic looking building that says BBQ. Sooty chimney, stacks of oak and a fire pit emitting oaky smoke. It felt really good to return to Jazzy's. It's been way too long. Living an hour away, we don't get the chance to hang out in the area much. This weekend found me within slurping distance, so I made sure to land there for dinner. (Close to the airport and water. Well, Waters Ave) LOL It seems like I'm ALWAYS craving ribs. Anytime I smell oaky smoke, I'm thinking ribs. Anytime I smell BBQ sauce, I'm thinking ribs. Anytime I smell anything BBQ, I'm thinking RIBS! That's how I roll. Naturally then, I ordered RIBS. I got the Large Rib plate. Of course. I chose Potato Salad and BBQ Beans as my two sides. The sides were on point and what I expected. Nothing makes your mouth water more than having a stack o' meaty, juicy ribs placed in front of you. I'm fighting that mouthwatering feeling right now! Dang. Service is friendly and the food comes out fast! Ohhhh man! Did those ribs look good! Plenty of them. Plenty of meat ON them. With a nice crispy bark on the outside. Yessss! I happen to intensely love the BBQ sauce. The owner, Johnny Ray came up with the recipe years ago, in a God given dream. (As I found out later that night) That sauce is some mighty Heavenly stuff. The ribs make it so easy to sop up that sauce. And slurp slurp slurp away at all the flavors exploding around you. Ain't no dainty way to eat ribs. Pick 'em up. Two hands. Go for it. Ain't no way you wanna waste any of that perfectly cooked meat, either. Sop 'em in that awesome sauce and gobble 'em up. I am SOOOOO glad I got the chance to stop in and rib out. I am also VERY glad there was another icon in it, for me. I finally met Mister Johnny Ray Smith. He was sorting through the oak firewood out back as I was leaving. Oh a busy road in Tampa, a small little bbq restaurant called Jazzy's sits. It was rated Tampa's best bbq by Good Morning America in 2022. Customer service was great. Everyone was super friendly and helpful! Prices are very affordable. We got the king of kings, which is 5 meats and 2 sides. We upgraded our sides so there was a bit of an upcharge. For 2 drinks, our food and tip, 2 of us ate for under $45. Plus we have a lot left to take home. Our 5 meats were chicken, pork ribs, Turkey, pulled pork, and sausage. My husband and I didn't care for the sausage. I didn't like the flavor or the crunchy casing. The chicken was dry as was the Turkey. The ribs and pulled pork were both tender and good. Our greens were eh and the fries were just fries. Give Jazzy's a try. You might like it. I'd go back to try other things. read more

I don't get to visit Jazzy's as much as I'd like but they do have pretty good bbq. After learning more about the story of this Tampa local gem I had to come visit for lunch. I'm very critical when it comes to Mac n cheese so I wasn't too impressed but it was ok. The ribs were good and flavorful but some of my ribs were a little dry/slightly over cooked. Great BBQ. Before today would've probably rated 5*. Ordered two dinners to go, each with one hot and one cold side dish. All were dumped in the same Styrofoam container, no separation. Got home with hot, soggy cole slaw and potato salad. Called and talked to mgr, who says "sorry" and "we've always done it this way", adding insult to injury. OK. It's 95* out and even if it weren't, it would be nice not to have the cold side dish soaked with hot sauce from the ribs and collard greens. We came a bit before noon on a Saturday and it was pretty empty which was good for us. We ordered and cashier was nice. The food came out pretty fast and it was good. We got the kings of kings, all 5 meats and sides mac and cheese. The ribs fell of the bones and were very tasty. The sausage was bit of spicy but so delicious, if I had to say my favorite was the sausage and im not really a sausage kind of person. Liked the mac and cheese and the coleslaw were also delicious and again I don't like coleslaw but this one is delicious. I was not impressed with their sauces. It was pretty quiet and music playing which nice way to have lunch. They have parking lot so no need to worry about parking. You should definitely check this place out. read more

This place needs more hype! It's probably the best BBQ I've had in town so far! It was opened by a former NFL Tampa Bay Bucs player and named after their daughter Jasmine. They give their meats a real southern taste by using oak wood. We shared a plate of 3 meats and a 2 side combo. We got the brisket, pulled pork, and 2 ribs with potato salad and beans (the best 2 sides according to my bf). I was VERY impressed because their brisket was juicy and perfectly cooked. It's usually dry at most places. The ribs were fall off the bone and the pork was delicious. Everything was so good that you really could eat it without BBQ sauce. They have homemade BBQ sauce that's warm and straight from the pot. It's a bit tangy for my preferences but it's good quality. This is my second time visiting Jazzy's while on vacation. This time I preordered some sausage to take Back to Indianapolis for friends and family. I ordered 10 lbs. What I received was maybe 7 lbs. They charged me for "pre cooked" weight. I even called them and they said they smoked 2 x 5 lb packages for me. That's not how you sell bbq. I even called a friend who caters bbq and he said he sells his meats "post cooked" weight. So if you order 5 lbs of brisket, you get 5 lbs of brisket. Every other bbq joint I've been to across the united states sells their meats post cooked weight. Not Jazzy's. Even though the sausage is off the hook, getting ripped off for over $60 worth of meat that I never received is truly saddening and quite frankly disappointing. Oh well. Live and learn. read more

We ordered through Grubhub today and were initially excited because everything tasted pretty good in comparison to the other bbq places around. We were severely disappointed when I took a bite of my pork sandwich and turned it over to see the bottom and found a big spot of mold. Moldy food dining out is, in my opinion, extremely unacceptable and makes me pretty uneasy about eating here. Add in the collard greens had multiple bones in them. Yes, good collard greens should be cooked with bones for flavor but they shouldn't be in the finished product. These two major issues completely turned us off to eating the food here. We were able to thankfully get a partial refund through Grubhub but will definitely not return due to the poor quality. I always order the spicy hot BBQ sauce on the side. It is vinegar based and pairs very well with the ribs that I am (apparently) known for. I can confirm that the portions of ribs are not always the same. Sometimes you get an enormous plateful, other times, it seems a little small. That being said, in comparison to their competitors, the prices are much more reasonable and the food is already a notch or two above their nearby chain competitors, so I don't complain much. What sold us on this place was the season fries on their staple photo. The greens and Mac n cheese are fine I ordered the king of king for $23 and I was not happy there's 1/2 lb of sausage if that and 2 ribs so I ended up ordering an extra pound of sausage and half a rack of ribs Customer service great I am just disappointed in the "king" plate. It's not shareable unless the person wants unseasoned brisket I shouldn't have to spend $62 for a meal for 2 ppl when it comes to bbq. I'm happy they were open in our dire time of need but with amount of black ppl in the back the meat should have a dry rub on it. The hot sauce taste like a mustard based honey gold. The service at the location from the higher up male manager was very rude and uncalled for . I went in to pickup a order that I had placed and the young lady with the colorful hair at the front was very nice and helpful but when upper management was needed for an issue , I was disturbed by the rudeness that he presented. Very inappropriate with staff . And should not be treating staff as such . I have been coming here for years and have never witnessed such audacity within a manager . Not what I ordered cause I definitely do not like sweet sauce on my food. The meats lacked flavor and the ribs were dry. The greens tasted weird. Soapy maybe. Not sure but definitely couldn't eat it. The macaroni and cheese was bland. If you can't cook Mac then most of your food is usually not good. And the Pecan Pie was just ok. Lil Debbie's pecan pie is better. Sadly to say I threw it all away.
