Had a delicious vanilla birthday cake today, and an amazing lemon jelly donut. The lemon curd in the donut was tangy and sweet and absolutely perfect. The donut was massive, too. Review of donuts only: Went to check out their donuts. The donuts were SUPER doughy. They were too "bready" and heavy, even for a plain glazed. I was not impressed with the quality of the dough, and the flavors were just okay, could be better. I wish the donut was lighter. I did enjoy the vanilla creme stuffed donut but could barely finish it because it was very heavy and too doughy. I do not live in the area and feel I can get better donuts in the the south jersey area near by. read more

Unfortunately I've tried this bakery several times. I've lived near the bakery for about 5 years and it's been hit and miss with flavors. I've ordered a cake, and have ordered several individual slices of cakes for dessert to grab and go however have been met with constant disappointment. The bakery is well known in the area as there are very few but I recently ordered a couple of red velvet and carrot cake slices for the family and it fell shy of expectations. The place inside is small, typical bakery set up. Customer service is average, not to rave about or anyone overly friendly. Prices are about average for your typical bakery. However what feel shy is the flavor. There isn't a true distinction of flavor between the different cakes; from chocolate mousse, to carrot, to red velvet. They taste similar and lack moistness. I have been pretty underwhelmed by the lack of richness from what is to be expected from an independent bakery. Needlessly to say I wouldn't recommend this bakery if you're looking for some good sweets to satisfy your tooth. read more

They have a bread pudding/apple thingy in a sheet pan and coffee cake that rocks. Buy a big slice to share at the office. Better and more special than doughnuts. I also love their cookies. Giant and full of nuts and good ingredients. Not overly sweet. I bring them home and freeze. Grab a half or quarter when I want with coffee or tea. Yum. read more

Cute little bakery that's open past normal bakery hours. Stopped in on Saturday night. Picked up some pizza dough and some amazing pierogies. while getting these staples was looking at all the amazing desserts. Ended up getting a piece of carrot cake and red velvet cake. Both were moist flavorful and delicious. They have such a variety of cookies and baked goods. Because of the holiday they had out free apple cider, free cookies, and free apple cider donuts outside the shop. Which was very nice. The help are very friendly. we also make slices of tomato pie. Came here to order a cake for my sisters birthday. The service was incredible and the location is fully of sweet treats! It was really nice to be able to come in and they have exactly what I needed and someone who was able to write on the cakes. Upon taking the cake home, I thought the overal taste of the cake was good. It wasn't the best strawberry shortcake I had but, it was solid and for it being last minute I truly can't complain. I got a box of these delicious donuts from work as a gift. They were nice and soft/chewy. I tried a half of almost 6 of these that were in the box. My favorite would have to be the powder with the whipped creme inside. Working long hours can be rough especially during the holidays so this was a nice sweet treat to help me push through my shift. I went back for another bite at the end of the day and they were still just as soft as they were in the morning when they were fresh. These donuts didn't go stale on me! Found this place on Facebook a month or so ago and I finally made it in yesterday. THANK GOD!!! When you walk in you get that phenomenal sweet smell, they have a huge variety of cakes, cookies donuts and much more. I wanted one of each of everything but I left with a chocolate iced donut, a chocolate dipped cookie and I'm not sure of the name but it was a folded cookie with cinnamon sugar and nuts! Well, everyone I spoke to suggested Sweet Eats Bakery for my son's 1st birthday cake. I found their prices a bit exaggerated for a little monsters birthday cake to feed 30 guests. My husband and I took a chance on JB Bakery (known for their baked goods). Glad we did, the cake was an exact replica of what I wanted and the cake itself was delicious! I only wished their fillings came in a variety different than what they suggested but we kept it safe and went for their whipped cream (should have added the fresh strawberries...maybe next time). One of my least favorite bakeries in South Jersey. We've tried this place a few times and each time it was a huge disappointment. I know during covid some businesses had it tough so I always give people the benefit of the doubt. We had ordered a birthday cake and it looked nothing like what it was supposed to. When we brought it to their attention we were treated as if we were the idiots. And that's what really gets to me is the disrespect shown to customers when there is an issue. Their prices are already high for food that is okay but again because I'm huge on supporting local I tried to overlook that. There are many other bakeries in South Jersey that deserve your support. In addition they need to stop selling pastries they were obviously baked a few days prior or Frozen. I can spot freezer burn a mile away and it pisses me off. read more

Their cream donuts are great and amazing. What is not great and amazing Is that if you're on their personal website, don't expect to find the prices shown on their website at the store. When they advertise $16.99 for a dozen donuts on their website, and then you go to the store and it's $19.99 that is very unprofessional, and it's also false advertising which is illegal. When I brought it to the cashiers attention, they would not honor the website pricing, although one of the employees said that they have tried to get the owner to change the website, but he refuses. They've changed their prices several times during the course of the year, but they never update their website. That's poor business judgment. read more

The bakery has wonderful items. My issue is with some of the kids that work there. One in particular is very smug, acts like she has an attitude, will stare at you and seems a little sarcastic. Just not welcoming . It has happened more than once when I have gone in there. Stopped in for the first time to get a dozen doughnuts for a work meeting. Box was so heavy I could barely carry it! These were substantial doughnuts and cream filling was superior. I ordered a cake for a baby shower in PA. They told me I could pick my cake up at 9:00. I arrived at 8:45. My cake wasn't decorated! No writing, no baby blocks, nothing was on my cake! People will suddenly and quietly appear behind you, still and not able to make a noise due to the weight of indecision. A piece of virginal coconut cake, or a cookie bright with childhood reverie? We had a very important function coming up and my fiancé had placed a call to JB Bakery on January 17th. He had ordered two dozen croissants to be picked up on January 19th anywhere between 7:30am and 8am. He arrived at the bakery by 8:30am (so the order should have been ready either way), told them the name the order was placed under, and was then informed that only 10 croissants had been prepared. The person at the counter had the excuse of "sorry, but we aren't the bakers" and that "whoever works overnight didn't get the dough ready in enough time." My fiancé explained how the croissants were meant for a memorial service for his grandfather and how he has to feed a number of people and was solely responsible for this item. Their response was: "I can only offer you 10 that are ready and you can wait an hour for the rest." The staff were so unprofessional. They did not show any kind of remorse whatsoever. Clearly every customer does not matter. What makes it worse is they had his name and contact information but didn't even bother to call and give him a heads up. read more

Stopped into JB Bakery after court the other day. I had driven by many times, but never at a moment when I could check it out. This is a traditional bakery with wall to wall refrigerated display cases showing rainbows of cakes, donuts, cookies, as well as a coffee service station for those in need of java. Everything looked great, and the young women working there were friendly and very helpful with making selections. I ordered a half doz Glazed and Vanilla Iced Donuts for the office, and one Carrot Cake Cupcake for a home dessert. None of them were as good as I had expected from just looking at them. The donuts were a bit past their prime when I picked them up before noon. Their edges were becoming hard, and the heart of the dough was no longer soft and fresh. They were still pretty good, just not the stuff of deserving a ringing endorsement. The Carrot Cake Cupcake was packaged well in a well designed plastic container, but I found the ample icing to be tasty, but lighter and less dense than true butter cream or cream cheese. The actual cake was okay, but not the moist carroty base of a true carrot cake. Again, it was decent, but far from great. The coffee was brewed as I waited, and was fine. Overall, this place is fun to explore, and perhaps there are other more delicious options within. Still, I am a donut/cupcake person, and I would not rush back for more of them. read more
