The staff is friendly and there are a lot of doughnut varieties, but they were out of custard filled. So we had an apple filled, glazed, crunchy topped vanilla, and jelly filled. The dough was, again, dense and heavy. The crunch hurt my teeth, the glazed wasn't light and fluffy enough but had a good flavour, and the apple filled? Meh. I finally got to try their pepperoni bread. It's good, but wasn't something I'd probably get again. Though a lot of other things they have are great! Their danishes are all very tasty....and I've recently become hooked on their jelly doughnuts. They're square shaped, sugar coated, and just sooooo good. The pig ears are also one of my favorites. They had a variety of cupcakes at different price points, so I purchased a half dozen along with an Oatmeal Raisin cookie. The Oatmeal Raisin cookie was kinda hard and I was hoping, with everything in me, that it'd be soft, so I was a little disappointed by that. The cupcakes were "meh". Definitely nothing to rave about. I take sweets pretty seriously, but these were just - okay. My kids loved the Elmo/Cookie Monster looking Cupcake (because it looked cool) but they barely ate the cupcake because that's what kids do... Ask for things and never eat it! Note to manager, who was not on shift...please teach the staff to serve with a smile not a snare. This bakery has a lot of options for pastries and breads. I stopped in one day before work to get some donuts. The donuts were so much better than the mass-produced dunkin donuts. I've had better donuts from strictly donut shops but these donuts are very good for a bakery. They were soft a fluffy, and even tasted good being heated up the next day. I also got some rolls which were good. I didn't like the fudge I got there. I think I waited too long to eat it because after 2 days it got really hard. Overall, great pastry shop. read more

I ordered a fresh made Mardi Gras cake last week. I was sooooo disappointed. I shared with my neighbors, they were disappointed. For a fresh baked cake it was dry as hell. Taste like they got a cinnamon, reshaped it and added the colorful frosting and sugars on top. Next year i will make my way to New Orleans for a real cake. Hot minute since I returned here, on my way back from helping my friend move Saturday, My friend & I stopped by. They have added like 2 more cases now, more pastries, array of goodies, from Hammatosh, Bear claws, cheesecakes, sticky buns.etc. I was Very impressed. I recently ordered a custom cake for my son's birthday from here. I sent a picture of what I wanted and asked it to be a 12 inch round cake all vanilla. The taste of their cakes is wonderful. The icing isn't overly sweet and the cake is moist even a day later it was good. The cake did come out good but the colors of the fondant weren't vibrant the way the picture I sent looked. Instead they were muted which was disappointing. There also wasn't much icing between the layers. I paid $195 which I thought was a little high but I was willing to pay it. (the base price of the 12 inch round cake is $95 fyi) Overall my guests enjoyed the cake but I might look elsewhere for a custom order next time. Very nice local bakery! Friendly and efficient staff. I stopped in to get some goodies for a BBQ. I got a Pineapple Coconut Cupcake, Carrot Cake Cupcake and Vanilla-Vanilla Cupcake and the Peanut Butter Turtle. I also sampled a butter cookie and thought it was very good. On to the cupcakes! ...the carrot cake was moist but crumbly. It's a dark spiced cake with a good cream cheese frosting. It wasn't too sweet. The pineapple coconut cupcake would be better without the pineapple filling if you ask me. It's those canned pie type fillings. The vanilla cake was tasty but crumbly and a little more on the dry side. I prefer moist cake. The frosting was sweet and light and pillowy. Very good frosting! The plain vanilla cupcakes were similar the the pineapple coconut one. The real star here was the Peanut Butter Turtle. It's sort of a tiny cake. When I hear "turtle" I assume there is something with nuts and caramel. Like those pecan turtles. No caramel in this treat. It is thin moist chocolate cake formed into a cylinder. Inside is a delicious peanut butter mouse. Then it's covered in a not too sweet chocolate ganache, chocolate buttercream dollop and drizzled with peanut butter sauce. Sooo good. I'll be back for that alone. Prices seemed fair. I think the cupcakes were $3 or $3.50. read more

We bought a great loaf of soft Italian bread...One of their pepperoni breads which was good..I prefer a little more cheese...A piece of their house special cake...SUPER!! Vanilla Cheesecake with layers of chocolate cake and mousse with mousse and dark chocolate outer layers with white chocolate streaks and a buttercream rose... The Pizza is a story of its own...round and baked in a cast iron skillet in their oven with olive oil ...a layer of Ricotta under the mozzarella...mmmm. ..and at $1.50 a slice...Run to get it!! read more

I go in there for a wedding cake. They get the baker so she can hear my specific wants. The lady begins by correcting me and my "cake terminology" in a rude manner. Then she tells me that my idea is ugly and she can do a 1 layer white cake with white roses. No thank you. Yet the Regular cupcakes are $.80-90 cents per cupcake? These 2 cupcakes were not even JUMBO CUPCAKES, They like to refer to them as a "slice of cake" size" REALLY? AND $3.25 APPROX) TRIPLE THE PRICE for Cream cheese icing and a "slight Bit" larger then their regular cupcake. I could see $2.00-2.50, thats what the House of Cupcakes gets up in Princeton, NJ. Did being on Food Network go to their heads? They are not even comparable to the flavor and quality o Gourmet cupcakes that are being sold out there. SHAME ON YOU--J&B BAKERY. Get your act together. I SAY BOYCOTT THIS PLACE!. THEY ARE RIPPING YOU OFF COMPLETELY! PS I am an avid fan of supporting your local bakery's. And I visit all famous cupcake shops local and distant.
