They have said it before and I will say it again, Unfortunately my neighborhood bike shop has a non-empathetic, sneaky, zero customer service skills, it's probably about time to retire, type of owner running the show. Because of my bike geometry, I called beforehand simply asking if I can come in for an opinion on where I should install an attachment on my bicycle. I just wanted an expert opinion and I wanted to test this stores customer service, in case I decide to return; never, even if you paid me. I get the approval and I'm on my merry way. As soon as I arrive, I am not greeted by this owner, instead, I had to explain again that I need to install the plastic piece that holds a lock in place, so that you can ride your bike without having to carry your lock around. He says "my mechanic can do it for you, $10". As a reminder, I called beforehand for an opinion on a simple item that anyone can install and this is not what drove me to write this review. This owner, Sam, knowing that my Carbon Fiber bike cannot and should not have any clamps with pressure on the bike. So, his employee finally had to speak up to give me the information and opinion I asked for, after asking several times, which was to not install this on the bike. You wanted to make $10 only to have one of your locals destroy their bike and maybe even injure themselves because of your less-than-moral business practices. I have no other words other than to strongly recommend you take your business to Willie's on 79th or Miami Bicycles on 125th. I needed air in my shocks. JB bike shop wanted to charge me $40 for that because they only offer a service which the bike did not need which includes putting air in the shocks. Then they try to sell you a pump for $60 which on Amazon is $30. Never been to bike shop who wanted $40 for a simple thing like air. Most bike shops are happy to give you air for a much smaller charge than $40. I would have been ahoy to pay a reasonable fee but $40 is outrageous. I will never go back and I cannot recommend this place for anything to anyone. read more

Great local shop in NoBe (North Beach for the non-locals). I just got a used bike and needed a new tube. I just called and made an appointment the same day and walked it over. Definitely call first to make sure they are open because one time I assumed and they were closed on a random Saturday. Once I got there, it only took 15 minutes to change the tube and for $19 it was worth it! I will definitely be back for a tune up soon. read more

Needed a new tube for a flat tire. I called and they scheduled me for the next morning. I have a cargo bike so they don't have space for me to leave it. That worked out better because they had it done in 20 minutes. They also helped me both unload and load my giant bike into my car. No! No! No! I have to remind myself over and over: no. Biking is about excitement, and this is expected from a bike shop. I did not felt welcome the first time either the other two times I camelback. I think they just don't care; you want to buy fine but don't bother the wife the same looking upside down at customers' attitude as her husband, just give them money and walk away. I have purchased numerous items from this bike store. Including a bike and my most recent purchase a garmin for over $200 ... This past Saturday afternoon. With extra time on my hands and bored from staying close to home due too Covid19 . I decided to change my bike chain. (Don't try that!!) I purchased the chain and tool online. I'm handy but had a issue getting the new chain back on my bike. I stopped by JB bikes and asked Sam the owner to help me out and have his mechanic put it back on. He said if I did not purchase the items from his store he was just too busy to help! I begged him to fix my bike (a 2 minute job) I said I would be happy to wait and pay double and tip the mechanic. I also said / true I did not purchase these items from your store ($35 chain ) but I'm a repeat local customer. I also begged him to fix it because Sunday's are a big ride day. He was the most rude and arrogant man I have ever met. I guy that begged me every time I shopped at his store to get my friends to shop and service there bikes at his store!! I will never go back and I will make sure to mention how awful this guy is and the poor customer service he has! Now I see why he has such negative reviews. Since covid has arrived the whole bike industry has been bonkers with retailers having limited bikes to sell as well as making being a bike retailer a double edged sword because of operating restrictions and high customer demand. Please keep this in mind when shopping and bring your patience and understanding. I had an issue with the bike that I purchased here recently that needed assistance from the manufacturer. They stood by their product and fixed the issue as well as making an additional needed adjustment. They fixed the problem within hours of bringing it in. Happy customer. My bike tire popped down the street from the store. I called them to see if they had a tube for the tire, which they did. I walked all the way to the store bought the tire and asked if they could fill the tire because I didn't have a pump with me. The employee at the counter very nonchalantly told me no they could not fill it because they had other bikes they were working on. I explained to him that I had no way to fill the tire and I had to walked all the way to the bike shop with my flat tire. He didn't seem to care one bit and that was it. Wow...read the reviews, they are true. This guy as an owner has 0.00 customer skills. I am the type of shopper which already knows what he is looking for. Went in there knowing what i wanted to buy. I was looking for an entry level specialized MTB either Pitch or Rockhopper. This guy was sizing me up, you know that look you get from someone on whether you can afford something or not....YES!!! That look. It was very uncomfortable walking the shop with this guy in tow. Was very condescending how he spoke. I asked about looking at the accesories since i recently bought my girlfriend a specialized Pitch Expert from big wheels and he said no. Even though i was in the store, the store was just open to sell bikes. Total douschebag! Needless to say that was the last thing i needed to hear. Upset me enough that i had to write the review and ended up finding my bike in MACK CYCLES IN SUNSET PLACE. Great guys there and service. Got myself a specialized rockhopper $700 and then spent another $200 in Bike Tech in Bird rd in accessories. In a way im glad i didnt spend any money there. FYI, miami beach cycle center on meridian is an awesome place to shop at. They have plenty of stuff and are super nice. JB YOU SUCK!!!!! Reluctantly went in for a TUNE-UP after my brakes were on last leg & almost got slammed by berserk S. Fla. motorist. Well worth every penny--my 6 year old Cannondale was as good as new, brakes, gear shifting, etc all lubed up & cleaned back to the original well oiled machine that it was. I forgot how good it was when it was new. Won't let it go as long again. Was just going to ride it home but ended up going for 90 minute ride since I was so pumped up to have my NEW BIKE BACK!
