They have been repairing two of my neighbors decks for the last few weeks. They left an open deck on a hillside without a barrier or warning tape. They removed the gate on my adjacent property without notifying me which allowed direct access to hillside deck with no railing for four days while they went to another job. I was out of town. Attached is a photo of what I found when I got home. This is how the DeckTech team left the job site. If a neighborhood child went through that gate and fell off my neighbor's deck it could have been disasterous. I asked them serveral times to reinspect my deck which is required for warranty. He delayed me for two weeks stating each time he would be out the following week. I received an email this morning stating I should go to his competetor. Maybe you should as well if he too busy until mid next year. The spelling errors are from his email. Ron McKenna (owner) email to me: "I would [not] be able to provide a deck inspection for you. Jay's bid came in more expensive than the rest by quite a bit. With some construction experience, I could tell the attention to detail was far above average. Jay came for 3 days with a crew of 6 guys. Level of detail on this build was outstanding. The tightest miter joints, the closest cuts. Perfect alignment, deck screws set with military precision. Composite decks are expensive. If you are going to spend the money for a top tier composite deck, you're going to want it installed by a perfectionist. Incredible job

We set up a date, but when I needed to change it to this year... he was so a-ok with whatever I needed to do. Shaun is kind, knowledgeable, prompt, and flat out knows his stuff! An amazing individual! For the pictures below... I realize these "beach colors" are not for everyone, but I wanted you to see the ragging detail as well as the prepping detail. Just amazing! The last 10 days his crew have been prepping and painting the exterior of our home. When I wasn't happy with one of colors "I" chose... no one bat an eye. They just primed over it and repainted until I was happy. And when I changed from painting to rag painting the walls instead... I was stunned to realized how talented his crew was. They did a better job of ragging than I did some 19 years ago. LOL His crew spent so much time prepping my home for paint. They arrived early and one of them usually left after 6pm when he made sure the cleanup was complete. With the prepping, windows covered in plastic. Nested birdhouses removed a safe distance. Cams safely covered. Etc. They did so much more than even I would have (and I'm pretty picky!) This is just an example of the detailed care Shaun and his amazing crew did for my project: They had taken down one of my cams (and covered 2 others) prior to painting. The main wonderful person had taken photos of literally everything on/around our home, prior to starting my project. Then later yesterday, using those same pictures to guide him in putting things back. And look how he used his picture to aim one of my cams perfectly!! Two other cams got tweaked during covering them. But due to his pictures... he re-adjusted them all perfectly!! And he replaced my porch artwork perfectly! It's these little touches that I didn't realize would be important to me. Yet they touched me so much!! COMPETENT, friendly, helpful, thorough, efficient, TALENTED!!! I LOVE SHAUN AND HIS CREW.

I move to Cayucos 3 years ago and my house was newer than most so I thought I was in great shape when it came to home remodeling or repair... and not needing much of it. HA! Turns out, we needed to replace a few doors and windows because last year's storm tested the limits of waterproofing. Ever since I moved to Cayucos I have always seen General Contract O'Shea's signs up, his great exterior work, and his green truck all around at different home remodel sites, bathroom remodel, kitchen remodel, deck remodel, etc... You get the idea, he does a ton of work around town. So we call Shaun and ask him to take a look at the project. He is a very nice person, took time to explain what the process would look like, and then gave us a few contacts where we should go look at doors and windows. Fast forward 8 weeks after the door and window project was almost done we found wood rot... and a lot of it! Shaun and his team found deck dry rot, railing issues, unsafe areas, and found the reason that a lower window was having issues opening and closing (a lot of wood was rotten). While away at work he sent me videos and picture to explain what was going on. We had calls every couple of days to stay on the same about the deck remodel, door and window replacement, and the stucco work that is now being done. His prices is very fair. His crew are some of the nicest and competent people you will meet. Everyone is very polite and trustworthy. My wife and I are really appreciate his work. - We are not yet done with the project so I will post some finish photos but for now I can post some of the demo...

We started with a small job, the installation of a tankless water heater. What really impressed me was how neat every connection was, and how exacting every joint. It's as good as if I did it myself (and knew what I was doing!). We then had Casey do a complete makeover of the exterior of our home: new stucco, windows, doors, decks, railings and paint. It is really beautiful, both in craftsmanship and esthetics. People stop and tell me how attractive my home is now. Currently we are in the midst of a kitchen/living room remodel, and things are still great. Casey has stuck to the budget and kept on schedule, and we anticipate another satisfying, attractive result. His designer Kathy has been great with suggestions but has also listened to what we wanted, and so the result is exactly what we wanted before we actually knew what that was. Not that things don't go wrong in a remodel - no one is perfect, and neither is every product. I had to move the trash bins into the street. It is a good thing I was home or I may have had full green waste, recycle, and trash in a week that I am expecting company. There was room for three or four trucks across the street where he would not be blocking any trash bins. Moreover their job appears to be four houses up the street.

After carpentry, the power washer arrives and works above and beyond to clean your site before painting. Great job! Thanks. Like the carpentry crew, the paint crew did an outstanding job. Really again went above and beyond in the efforts to paint and wood epoxy needed areas. Also, every contractor who worked on the site was very kind and treated your house like their own. They had to come back to replace a joist which they did with the upmost professionalism. I would definitely hire this company again. Excellent communication was key. Thank you.
