Greg was recommended to us by a friend. He responds quickly, gives excellent advice/recommendations on work to be done, and performs work at a fair price. He has completed two projects for us and we are very satisfied. The first project was to clean up our overgrown backyard. The second project was to replace our front and side lawns (3000 sq ft total) with drought tolerant landscaping. For this second project, Greg and his team removed all sod, moved/upgraded and added new sprinkler valves, installed new drip lines, rewired and installed a new sprinkler controller, planted 230 drought tolerant plants, spread brown bark throughout, installed outdoor lighting, and installed a concrete walkway (see photos). So then I get a racist reply that he is a professional company with equipment not someone from the "Home Depot with a rake." I must say I did price it out, and JBP prices was in the ballpark as others. (Not too far off) That being said, I believe that business is built on relationships, and I plan on doing future work with JBP Landscape. Communication is good. Very Responsive. They were on time when they showed up and worked hard. They cleaned up all their trash and even swept my drive way where they loaded their trailer. We needed a long overdue and major rework of our yard. JBP Landscaping cut down an out of control tree and several oleanders in front of house, put in new sod in front and back. Four hillsides and front of house were cleared and replanted with new trees, plants and black bark. Updated and new irrigation. Added pea gravel alongside street and on one side of house, and decomposed Granite on the other side. End result was a lush but clean looking yard. We've gotten a lot of compliments from neighbors as well as people walking by. We hired this company to install sprinkling system and sod. After the sprinklers were in we could see some spots in the dirt that weren't getting watered throughly. My husband mentioned this to them before the sod was installed and they reassured him if it became an issue they would put in additional sprinkler heads. That should have been our clue. After returning from a month long vacation we found two dead patches of grass. My husband contacted them and of course they blamed the gardener for having the wrong mower height setting even though the rest of the lawn was fine. They did come and install 4 taller pop up heads. But we assumed that was included in the original cost which was $3500 for a park strip. But no they had the nerve to charge us for them at $150! We won't be using them again for any landscape or yard maintenance. read more

We specifically asked for brick and bark chips to be removed from our front yard which was listed as "removing debris" on the estimate. Greg came and cut the weeds/grass but did not remove any of the shrubs or debris, the front yard was NOT taken down to grass as agreed upon when the estimate was provided. We asked that Greg email us because he was texting my wife multiple times in a row after she'd already answered the questions he continued to ask over and over again. Today, he claims "removing debris" didn't mean removing what we SPECIFICALLY asked to have removed because it is "hardscaping" and he only does landscape. When I tried to discuss him charging us the full price of the quote even when leaving the job less than half done, he said we didn't deserve to discuss it because we had asked to communicate via email. He said because nobody was home, we basically deserved to be ripped off. Someone was home, his crew never rang the doorbell and the person who was home sleeps during the day because they work at night, so they had no idea he was even there until later on.
