Our waitress was great, she mentioned she was newer, but she was helpful and courteous. It was much larger inside than the outside appeared. We wanted to treat ourselves and orders the prime rib and the rib eye. Although the mashed potatoes were good, we were rather disappointed in the bland vegetables. They were truly a side dish, not given much thought or effort. Unfortunately the main event, the prime rib and rib eye were not seasoned at all (thankfully I thought ahead for the request of double onion and mushrooms). After trimming the excess fat from the end of the rib eye, the main portion was a good cut, well marbled and I was able to take it home, chop it up and season it for a yummy breakfast steak wrap for my husband. Honestly, we struggled to give the meal a 3 or 4 because the base skills were there and the server was so polite. It was a satisfying meal, but not one we would crave. read more

When someone says "Prime Rib", we all have this expectation in our heads of what it is. A lot of people will say "No way, that is gross and too bloody". The other half is super excited to find that perfect, wet, bloody looking piece of meat that is so fatty and delicious. Well, that is me! Bring in the gravy and the giant fatty piece of meat. This 16oz piece of meat is everything I was hoping it was going to be. I don't eat Prime Rib often, but when I do I have very high expectations and this plate met it and more. Eat the bloody meat, drink the Manhattans and talk to old ladies at the bar. Besides, that's where the fun is. This restaurant is called JBs in #Prattville, New York. This place looks like an old ski lodge in the middle of nowhere. I had to take multiple dirt roads to get there and when I arrived, I still wasn't sure I was at the right place. Great place to stop! We stopped with my 6 year old and it was amazing. The food was extremely reasonable and was delicious. Just had Saturday nite Prime Rib Special, asked for Medium rare, got well, sons prime came same way. Flavor was good, wife and sisters burger were very good, Coleslaw was vinegar based and just ok.. Logan was server, attentive and friendly. The bill however, paid with Credit Card, upcharged 3.95% , could of paid with cash, and saved the fee. charged $3.00 for a ceaser salad that was a side with Prime Rib, lastly charged for mushrooms we didn't order or recieved.. This is the bar the Hammondsport locals (ok Prattsburgh too..) don't want you Rochester suburbanites to see. Complete with stuffed bobcats, deer, pigskin and plenty of Carhartt clad citizens. Not to mention it's basically in East Jesus. Fortunately my friend grew up around here and so we went in on Friday for the fish fry. Light batter haddock (fresh), fresh cut fries, and great light mayo slaw. We sat at the bar sipping Genesee Beer (which is usually consumed by 60 plus year old farmers in the 1000 Islands..except me on that said Friday). Mind you not Genny Cream Ale for the well known next day laxative effect.... While there is beer on tap...the bottles and cans are plentiful behind the bar and ice cold. If you are coming here, skip the skinny jeans and witty looking glasses...this place is more akin to a hunting lodge and they probably don't want city interlopers in here anyway...so dress the part. Up in the hills of Prattsburgh NY is this diamond in the rough. Just west up the hill from Pulteney. Lots of parking. This is a new place with a large bar With butcher block high top tables in the bar area. And a good sized dinning area. The upper walls in the bar decorated with taxidermy. Very busy on Fridays(Fish fry) and Sat(Prime rib). We decided to try a Thursday (Steak night). You can order three sizes of Strip or Ribeye. I ordered the 18 oz Ribeye med rare. Wow it was a plateful and a side of Caesar salad. Both very full of flavor and impressive. My wife had the grilled portobello if was very tasty with a hint of balsamic! The server Logan was attentive and very informative. It was well worth the drive up in the hills to have a great experience. Well done. read more

Just had dinner here with the hubs. I wanted their famous Mac and cheese but by the time we got there, 7:30, it was all gone. I had the fish fry with 2 sides, vegetables and mashed potatoes. Hubs had a steak burger with 2 sides, corn and French fries. Everything was good but the service from Logan, our waiter, was phenomenal. Made me think of pre Covid days when waitstaff actually conversed with you and were efficient as well. Will definitely be back for that Mac and cheese! read more

This place is a diamond in the rough. Logan was a wonderful bartender/waiter anyone could ask for. Our food was delicious from start to finish. Anyone loving onions should try the onion petals they were out of this world. We also enjoyed the taste of a local cider. Will definitely be coming back to this place in our return visit. Haven't been here in a while, but thought we'd try it again. Special was an open face prime rib sandwich. Ordered it medium rare. "Don't have a medium rare cut(at 5:30 pm). O.K. how about medium?" It came "well done, dry and over cooked". We had a bad steak" AGAIN" like the last time we came. Jb's can't cook meat, end of story. Took the hour ride because we heard the food was awesome. Eh! The famous pork BBQ nachos were a mess. Tortillas, cheddar cheese and BBQ sauce....only a little pork. The cole slaw was horrible. It had mustard seeds in it, not your typical mayonnaise based cole slaw. I will not rush back. read more

Absolutely love this place. With taxidermy on the walls and big screen televisions with hunting and fishing on !! The food is excellent. My NY strip was hands down the best steak I have had out that I can remember. The server remembered me and my likes.
