Stopped here on a Sunday right at open at 11:30. Ordered the French onion soup to start and share. Our waitress was very nice and friendly. Ordered a Diet Pepsi which hit the spot. As my entree I went with the salmon BLT which I was leery of but said hell with it and pulled the trigger. Wasn't bad - but not really a salmon cake. More of a salmon breaded plank. Salmon cakes were always a lot of breading and some filler. Anyway - still good. We passed on dessert and hit the bricks. Nice place when you're coming thru this town.

Visiting Hammondsport NY on a Monday can be tough since most places are closed. Thankfully, Timber Stone stays open, and it offers a great atmosphere. There's indoor & outdoor seating available decorated in warm rustic touches. Sadly there seemed to be 1 person running the bar & waiting most the tables which seemed to stretch her a bit too thin. The food was a bit lackluster starting with the tacos which didn't have much time put into them. The tortillas were a bit hard & lacked fillings, especially the shrimp taco. My fiancé's house salad was ok but the menu sadly lacked any appealing chicken options.

Enjoyed a very good veggie burger with fries here. They graciously accomodated our large party abd it was a nice lunch all around

Burned jerky (pulled pork) flatbread... But the staff was great about comping it.

We visited Timberstone while vacationing at a Verbo by the lake. Located right in the village of Hammondsport near shopping and the town square that hosts numerous festivals throughout the summer. Very cool atmosphere both inside and on the patio. The staff was wonderful... but... The food that two of us ordered (pulled pork flatbread) was inedible. The flatbread was burned and the pulled pork had the texture of jerky... Was happy that there wasn't much of it, not that I ate it anyway. The manager comped those meals and we ended up cooking out at home. We may give them another try when in the area... Some of the other dishes that went by looked really good. Anyplace can have a bad day.

The service was wonderful; the waitress was super active and helped with all our questions. The food was ok. I got the Taco trio, most of which was fairly bland or dry. The rest of my family got burgers and said they were wonderful, so I'd recommend starting there!

Nice little spot in Hammondsport in town. Cute ambiance and a cheerful wait staff. Hubby & I had opposites. He started w the French onion soup. It was rich and smooth w ample cheese - lawd it looked good! Then He had the rib-eye w horseradish butter & whipped mashed potatoes (omg). He couldn't finish the steak & we happily brought it home. We also split the Thai chili shrimp app. The panko breading was light & crisp! As for me - I got the grain bowl w sesame tofu. Sounds meh but it was packed with flavor! The quinoa was cooked perfectly, not too tough or too goopy. The flavors all played well with each other on this. Looking forward to visiting again!

We came here as the yelp reviews were good and we wanted to try someplace new. That said, the burger was slimy and yet overcooked (see pictures, this was ordered "medium-rare"), the first pizza ordered "fell apart" in the oven so we waited for the second which was burnt on the bottom and soggy on top. The bruschetta chicken had no flavor and tasted like cheap, saline injected chicken. The waitress was acceptable at best (she was okay until we assume she could tell we were unhappy, and then she became rude- of note, we never complained to staff). The only redeeming quality was the hostess. This was possibly my worst dining experience this year- would give 0 stars if possible.

This restaurant is located in the Village of Hammondsport and only a short walk from our lodging so we chose it for our first night's dinner. Thought the menu offered several interesting options, both my wife and I settled on pistachio salmon as our entree. Included sides were mashed potatoes and a mix of fresh green beans and slices of carrot Service was very good as well.

One in our party went inside where the hostess is located, she greeted and seated us immediately outside on their lovely patio. We visited during an unusually warm spell in mid April and what a treat to dine Al fresco! Our waitress had several outside tables to move between, which often creates more work because serving included stairs and having to in and to retrieve food and guest requests., but our waitress did this with ease and never seemed flustered. We ordered the Poutine and fries appetizer and the cranberry pecan flatbread, two house salads, French onion soup, and one order the chicken sandwich. Each item was served on different shaped dishes that added appropriate aesthetic elements to the dish served. The poutine was topped with cheese curds that hadn't been breaded (I've had both) and a brown gravy that light in color. At first taste I wasn't sure how I felt about the gravy, but for most things I have a three bite tasting rule. By the 3rd bite I was hooked! The French onion soup was perfect temperature and flavorful without being too salt. The flatbread had layers of flavors and textures that worked well together! Finally, the balsamic chicken sandwich was cooked just right and served topped with cranberry mayo, bacon, Swiss cheese, lettuce, tomato, onion on a brioche bun. Cute place, good food!

Warm dining room, crafted cocktails and flavorful food. Service could use improvement. There was only one other couple in the dining room when we arrived on a Monday evening. Our server Cayden was friendly, although it seemed there was a miscommunication and he did not put in my food order along with my husband's order. Waiting extra time for my meal put a slight damper on our experience. The 3 grilled cheese sandwich and tomato red pepper bisque hit the spot for my husband, that is his ideal comfort food. I thoroughly enjoyed the New England pot roast skillet, with the hearty brown gravy, vegetables and tender pieces of beef. The peanut butter pie we shared for dessert was good. The mousse was creamy and not too sweet. I would have preferred that the artificial whip and chocolate sauce drizzle be left off, since it didn't add to the dessert. Overall an ok experience and we hope to visit again.

We were looking for a dinner spot in Hammondsport and settled on Timber Stone Grill. I shouldn't say settled because we enjoyed our meal, and we had lots of company because there was a long line of people waiting for tables. There was indoor and outdoor seating and the place was busy. I liked the menu with a good selection of salads, burgers, flatbreads and pasta along with steaks and chicken.

We were headed back to our place and needed to eat and found this place. We called in the order and he told us 45 mins until it will be ready. We pulled up exhausted after a day out and about at wineries. I walked in 10 minutes before and the bartender said it's coming up and asked if I wanted a drink. I ordered a Stella while waiting. I told my wife he said few mins and getting a drink. Then 15 minutes goes by and he said I'm sorry they never put the order in. He said it will be up soon, order something on me, so I got another beer and told my wife. She came in and he said to her that he effed up, got busy and never put the order in. Asked her what she wanted and gave her a Sangria on the house. We waited patiently and the food was rushed and ready. I paid and left him a $20 tip. He said you didn't have to do that. I screwed up, I said life happens. He was a good waiter doing more than he can handle. Food was great and I'll be back again. But eat inside, looked nice inside but small and all good.

My girlfriends and I stopped here during our day trip to Keuka. We ordered different foods and everyone was happy with what they go. The tacos were tasty. I got one of each but my favorite was the pulled pork taco though! The fries were delicious. We also go the pulled pork Flatbread and onion soup. The parmesean fries were yummy too! Will definitely stop if we are in the area again. Brian was a great server. He was super friendly and made sure our dining needs were met.

It was beautiful and I enjoyed meeting new people. Ravines wine is also the best I have had on Seneca Lake. Dryer and more robust. Can't wait to come back!

Wasn't sure if I should post this under Ravines Wine Cellar or under the Ravinous Kitchen, so this…read morereview might be making appearances in both.... My husband and I have been to Ravines Wine Cellars several times since 'discovering them' during a special farm-to-table dinner and wine pairing at Good Luck a few years back. That night we enjoyed a 5-course meal and each course was paired with a different wine. It was the first time we ever experienced drinking finger lakes wines that we really enjoyed and could see ourselves buying for private consumption! Shortly after that, we made the trip out to the wine cellar in Geneva to do a tasting. On our first trip, we did the wine and cheese tasting - loved everything and went home with a bottle of Meritage. On the second trip, we did the wine and chocolate tasting (which features chocolates from Hedonist) and came home with a bottle of the Vignoles. Fast forward another couple of years and we took advantage of a holiday event which featured food pairing tastings from Brown Hound Bistro at the Ravines location in Hammondsport. We left with several bottles of wine for holiday gifts. Every experience was great, with friendly and knowledgeable people, enjoyable atmospheres and yummy goodness. Most recently, I was lucky to attend a special dinner at the Ravinous Kitchen as part of a company event. There were 12 of us for a 6-course meal on a Sunday evening (usually they are closed at this time). Included was a tour of the winery and wine cellar, with time spent with the owner and the head chef. It was amazing. The chef prepared really, really delicious dishes for each wine: --We started with glasses of their 2009 sparkling Brut Rose which was delicious. Paired with a bacon puff and served with herbed crème fresh, this was a lovely little bite. --Next, while we were in the cellar, we were served a parsnip bisque with caramelized cheese. We ate that while tasting their 'new' 2015 Meritage right out of the barrel. It was cool in the cellar and the bisque and wine was a perfect little warm up. --First of the 'mains' was a large serving of local Lively Run chevre, with a side of kale and some pomegranate drizzle, served with their 2015 dry Riesling. They also gave each of us a fresh baked roll, and mine was gluten free - the most perfect gluten free roll I've ever had - truly crusty and 'French-bread-like'. I could have died happy after eating this course. --Second 'main' was a stuffed squash with some kind of spinach or creamed green inside. This was doused in brown butter and served with a smear of red miso. The dish was served with their 2013 Pinot Noir. Holy deliciousness. Unlike any squash dish I've ever had, this was definitely the table favorite. Super savory and umami, great depth. Super yum. --Final 'main' was braised beef short rib served with shaved brussels sprouts and a mushroom 'cream' made by roasting a medley of mushrooms and pureeing them with cream. This dish was served with au jus and the 2013 Maximilian red. A rich, delicious combination. I have to admit at this point I was over the top stuffed, but even so, when the chef brought out extra servings of the short ribs, I forced myself to have a bit more. The au jus was delicious and the meat was totally fall-apart tender. So good. --For dessert, we were served a butterscotch 'risotto' - basically a rice pudding with white chocolate, apricots and toasted oats. This was served with the Vignoles. Take a bite and a swig and swirl them in your mouth - flavor explosion! I really love the Vignoles. Even those at the table who are not fans of dessert wines/ports/ice wines drank every drop! (Too bad because I was offering to finish whatever anyone wasn't going to drink, but no takers....) Ravines is definitely at the tippy top of my list of favorite wineries and experiences in the finger lakes. And with all the new awesome eateries in Geneva and the focus on making the little college town a foodie destination, I highly recommend you join the Ravinous club, rent an Airbnb and go there to spend a weekend of eating, drinking and merriment!
