First of all, tip to management: conduct your staff meetings before your establishment opens and NOT during business hours. Someone should have known the restaurant/bar would be busy; it's the holidays people! We counted 27-30 people in the bar & restaurant while we were there. During that time, there was ONE server/bartender and one food runner because the other employees were in a meeting! Really? One server. You think that is sufficient? We should have walked away when no one noticed us standing at the front waiting to be seated but, oh well, silly us. Our experience was further complicated because our server forgot to enter our food order. We understand that mistakes happen so we wrote that off to "it happens". Then she forgot the spicy mustard, the drink that was ordered and finally the check that was requested. In the server's defense, she seemed frazzled because she was over-worked. Management really needs to consider their staffing needs and act appropriately. I gave two stars because the food was "decent", not "good", (burgers were over cooked) and the Blackstone Porter was great. read more

So I will start out by saying that evidently the reviews on here have changed the service philosophy of the restaurant management. I've dined here for lunch twice now and must say that the experience has been above average. Server was attentive, food was served hot and fresh and music was just right (for a quick lunch meeting at least). We were in and out in about an hour. My only real suggestion is that they should feature some local fare - one reviewer (Jules F.) mentioned that they want to be Buffalo Wild Wings... and God I hope that isn't case. I love local dining with local fare options. I am headed there tonight to have dinner and drinks with friends. So I may update this review but as of now, I am giving it 4 Stars for sure. PS: if you don't live within 12 miles of this restaurant, you'll be disappointed. I live within 5 miles so its a great hyper-local hangout. UPDATE! Ok I promised an update and here it is. Never mind - scratch all that I said above. Dinner was absolutely horrid! food was cold, and some of our party didn't receive their dinner for 15 to 20 minutes after other people at our table. I gotta say I LOVE this place!! My husband and I live around the corner and have been very excited about this place opening but wanted to give it a while to find its grove before we went. Formerly owning our own coffee shop we know first hand how tough opening up a brand new place can be. And reading the previous reviews I am glad we waited! The place has been open from what I understand a month now. Starting with the atmosphere, it was something like I havent really ever seen. They have three huge garage doors that open (they only had one open because it was so hot out) that gives the place a very cheery open feeling. I typically hate sports bars because they are so dark and depressing. This place has great light and a nice size outdoor patio area with a bar. The patio was packed! They have tons of TV's everywhere. Looks like they are building an awning outside and I am hoping they might put TV's out there too! They had cornhole but it was in a corner so I didnt see anyone playing it. As far as the food, we enjoyed ours! I had the half chicken with yummy sweet potato fries, and my husband had ribs that literally fell off the bone. My husband is pretty picky with his ribs and he like them..Ohh and the fried pickles were good too! The service was great, we had a cute little brunette who was very friendly and top of everything. Food came out quickly and hot. With BBQ I wish they had extra napkin on the tables, but we got what we needed. Needless to say, after testing the place out we are pumped about football season!!!! Their place made us feel so safe to come back out or eat. Everything is spaced out appropriately and they all wear masks. And for once, a place not afraid to enforce it. Had some hopes for the Pour House. But it is rather chaotic. First there wasn't a hostess and for a place that size that's trying draw in a bar and grill clientele that's not good. Servers end up not knowing who is where. There was (the times I went) only two open registers, this created a bottle neck for ten+ servers. They would be queued up. The food was basically average bar fare, with the fried dishes being a over battered. If you're like me you like to be able to taste the original product. Salsa was bland and I assume bottled. Seemed food was all frozen and then deep fried. While its true that typically you don't go to bars for culinary delights, a simple pub menu should mean its possible to really go the extra mile on those simple dishes. On the upside I had a good server who was very sweet which at a place you go to relax and have a few beers is a real plus. But when I went to give them another try she was gone. So there went that. At the end of the day having a good beer selection can't be your only claim to fame. Any place can get a collection of good quality craft beer. What sets you apart has to be in the details. Taking the time to have fresh meat, and produce to make a few simple items will keep people coming back. Some of the best burgers, grinders, fries and appetizers I've ever had have been at small local pubs. So being a bar isn't an excuse for cutting corners. Its almost insulting. This venue has the rudest most manipulative ego maniac senior bartenders I've ever encountered. They are curt and snappy and refuse simple requests to tune in a ballgame or for limes or tells you not to put salt on your bar napkin so your beer doesn't stick to it or any normal request of customers at a bar. These two senior bartenders in particular, threaten to "tab you out," if you call their rude behavior out and claim full support of this behavior by the owner Jason Ballard. If the owner supports treating customers, especially locals, this way, its not worth going there to be berated if you don't act as they demand. The servers are amazing and they all are very aware and agree with of the dozens of customers who refuse to go there simply because the these two negative rogue bartenders. We used to bring large groups there but until this has been addressed we will never go near this place. According these two senior "acting manager" bartenders, you, the owner doesn't care about anything but blindly supporting them. You, sir, need to know what's going on there. read more

I'm pretty regular at B-dubs and I heard my fav bartender Steve-O started working here. So I figured I'd give it a try. Immediately upon walking in I loved the atmosphere. Bar area is wide open and garage doors open up to the outside patio/bar area. Lots of TVs for sports and, I know this isn't a huge deal, but they are in HD. Why bars and restaurants get HD TVs and not get HD service is beyond me. Anyway, I ordered fried pickles and a chili burger. Fried pickles came out after a long wait but they were hot and they were crispy and tasty. So I wasn't complaining. Te burger came out in a normal time ad was good. A little well done for my liking but I'd rather have it a little well done then underdone. So again, no complaints. All in all had a good time. I'll be back. read more

I've been a sporadic guest, dropping in for a happy hour on the way home. Not bad usually. Came here the other night with my wife for dinner at the bar. Food was ok, not spectacular, but ok. Tried to drop in today to have a beverage and watch the masters. Had a hard time getting anyone's attention at the bar. Finally got a drink, but never got a menu offer (I was hungry). Tried to get attention to get a menu, could never get the attention of the peripheral vision blind bartender and the staff that was behind the bar complaining to each other about their work experience . I wouldn't choose this place for date night, but if you're looking for a place to watch the game or you're looking for good drink specials, this is the place. Tuesday's are 2 for 1s and the drinks actually taste like they have alcohol! They have a great selection of liquors and a decent variety of beer on tap and in bottles. The food is ehh. The things I've had have always been edible but sometimes it's good, sometimes it's really good, and sometimes it's just okay. They do have a large menu though so almost anyone will find something they like. The service is usually good however some servers are considerably better than others. I've never had a rude server but I have had a few that definitely lack a good mood and energy, everyone has bad days! The thing I hate is how cramped it gets during any sporting event, any Tuesday, or any night once summer hits. I don't mind being tight if I am just drinking but if I'm planning on eating I prefer not to have people standing around my table or trying to squeeze by me. Being just 3 miles away from my house, I really loved the location of this place. It's simple bar food but what makes the place is the atmosphere and the Bushwackers. Pretty good selection of local beers. My buddy and I played golf and went to JB's for a late lunch. I love the 22oz beers. We had the "Pour House Hot" wings. They were awesome. Sweet on the front end and hot on the back end. We also had the "Adobo and Beer" wings. They were smoky and good, but if you like hot wings, go with the actual "Pour House Hot." I agree with a previous poster, the ranch dressing is a little watery, but at least it's homemade, not poured out of a bottle. I really liked the bar, and I think we would have stayed longer if we would have made it there sooner. This place was great! It's a really great place to grab a beer and watch your favorite sporting event. The customer service was stellar! The manager, Steve, came over to greet us and genuinely cared about us as customers. I can say the same for our server, Emily. She had great recommendations on food and beer. They have a big sign at the door stating you must have you mask on 100% of the time to come in or leave, to use the restroom, any place other then sitting at your table. People come and go massless, walk around the restaurant, you name it. If you believe in wearing a mask for your safety and others JB's is not your place. We have been to JB's on numerous occasions and really enjoy the food. I've tried the regular burger, veggie burger, and turkey burger (my favorite) and they are all very good. My son loves the chicken tenders and orders the regular instead of off the kid's menu because he wants a lot of them! We went for a visit a couple days ago with quite a large group (20+ and walk-in) and they were very accommodating to us. We had two servers that did a fantastic job, especially with the request of separate checks and family members spread out. They were able to keep up with refills on drinks and the food came out in a timely fashion. My husband tried the wings for the first time and they were pretty good. The cucumber wasabi sauce was very interesting and tasty! I was thrilled when they were remodeling the old building to open last year and they've definitely made vast improvements since opening. The beer selection as good and I'm happy that they now have specials (can't beat 2-for-1 Tuesday!). I love that they have a patio and we play corn hole every now and again. Trivia on Wednesdays is another fun event. It's a great place to go and hang out, or have a meal with family and friends. I've recommended JB's to friends and will continue to do so. LOVE this place considering there are so few places in Hermitage besides chains to go watch sports and have good old fashioned bar food. My favorites are the catfish nuggets basket and the wings, which you can get grilled! SO good and very filling. They have a great selection of draft beers and if you want, you can get a flight to get a little taste of them all. The patio is very nice too with fans and plenty of TVs to watch your favorite team play sports. If you want a great atmosphere with some good traditional bar food and a wide selection of beers and beer specials and you live in the Hermitage area...this is the place for you. :) read more

My boyfriend and I went to JB's Pour House on Monday for the first time and I was impressed with how nice everyone was! We had a server who was new - I'm so sorry that I can't remember his name but he was very sweet, funny and helpful. The manager came over to our table about mid-way through our meal and offered us free samples of their version of a bushwhacker and it was delicious (FYI they apparently have a special on Tuesday where you can get two for one bushwhackers). The food was pretty good - I had the Big BLT and my boyfriend had their chili burger, which was huge. My BLT was good but it's a BLT...those are hard to mess up. Our sandwiches also came with a pretty generous helping of crinkle cut fries. They have big TVs everywhere and a huge dining area with plenty of tables and booths. I think this place has the nicest staff I have ever encountered at a restaurant here in Nashville and just for that I plan to go back very soon. read more
