This review is based on our interaction for the work of restoring a drawer so that it runs on track. It involved buying parts of right fit so it glides on the current track, removing the old parts, and installing the new. It was a 20 min job. JC gave me the lowest quote for to fix my shower floor and water damage areas in my master bathroom. He showed up on time, clearly communicated what he was doing, and told me his concerns and came back later to finish the job once the bathroom was fully dried. At no point I felt he was taking advantage of me (which is huge to me since I am a female and I often times feel uncomfortable with contractors or handyman that want to do more than what I asked for so they can charge more). Jesse is an excellent craftsman with a stellar work ethic. We had a huge, hard drywall job to be done with our bathroom. Jesse clearly knows what he is doing. He worked diligently for many hours making precise cuts, matching up and shimming studs, laying the mud to match thickness of the plaster on the existing wall, and texturing it beautifully and spot on to the existing wall. On top of the wonderful job, he has very competitive prices, is a true professional (shows up when he says he will, makes very little mess, cleans up after himself, etc) and is a friendly, nice person. I cannot even give a single star to JC Handyman Services. He raised the prices after he already quoted me a price. I had shelves that needed to be hung. He put them up and they were uneven and he said that he could not fix it. It was a complete half assed job. Then he proceeds to tell me the shelf that is hanging above my son's bed and my son's head is not very secure and that's just the way it's going to be. I would never recommend this handyman to anyone. He did the worst job at my home. I completely regret using this service. read more

I drove 1/2 hour to the location where the closet is to be modified, the apartment I am moving into once it is ready. The appointment was between 330pm and 4pm. He did not show and he did not call me to tell me he couldn't make it or that he would be running late. I won't work with such a person and neither should you. JC was nice and hardworking however, after giving us an estimate a few days later, he wanted us to change the size of our canned lights because of the difficulty. We showed him the materials we had already and initially said it was fine. We needed a window replaced, ceiling patched and painted, canned lights placed. He said it would take 3 days. At the end of the second day, I was trying to confirm the 3rd day for window replacement and he said, "Oh, I won't be able to get to it, I will call you, boss." I got a feeling he wasn't going to call, and he never did. The patchwork he did was sub par, plus, at payment time he wanted more money than we agreed and kept saying, "it was hard work." I would have agreed to more, but that's all the cash I had on hand at payment time. read more

I love Yelp and have found great businesses through Yelp for several years. This time not so good. I hired Jesse to do several small projects and yes he was prompt and showed up when he said he would. There were issues with the work and when I asked him about it, his standard response was that he thought it looked beautiful. I had him hang a small cabinet above the toilet and rather than centering it over the toilet, he mounted it off center against an adjacent wall. When I mentioned that it didn't look right, he disagreed with me. Final blow came when i asked him to put new sheet vinyl in a bathroom and he laid it at least two inches crooked. It made me dizzy to look at how off kilter it was. When I asked him about it, he said he thought it looked beautiful and if I wanted it re-done he would charge me three times the original price he quoted me (already high to begin with). Needless to say, I will not be hiring JC Handyman Services again. read more
