He lifted my car...saw the damage to the now dragging skid plate. Bolted it up. Cut off the frayed, dragging pieces and secured the wiring that was hanging down. It's amazing to truly find an HONEST auto mechanic. I was told by an "instant lube " place about a leak and when bringing my vehicle to JCJ they told me that the lube place was full of it. Charlie has saved my butt plenty of times. He is quick to diagnose the problem and usually never charges you to look at it and tell you what the issue is. They will even tell you if its something that can wait to be fixed. This establishment has proven to me over & over again that they can be trusted in provideing quality work. They charge me only what is fair (considerably lower than most chain places) and once reduced his labor costs so that the bill wasnt so high. His office is a little dirty and shady looking but apparantly they care more about quality work than pretty offices and i appreciate that!!!!!! read more

About a month ago me and my Wife were on a short road trip from Phoenix to Las Vegas. We had planned a day trip but as luck and timing would have it our car had a different adventure on it's mind... or at least on it's fuel pump. We found ourselves near the end of the day stuck on the side of a quiet residential neighbourhood. Being visitors to an area you know you are at the will of the service providers. Thoughts like how much will it cost to tow, who will tow, tow to where, all race through your head. We Google a tow service and plan to take the car to the closest mechanic service. While waiting for the tow truck a fellow from one of the houses where we were stuck offered to have a look under the hood. Turns out he is a mechanic. He pokes around a bit and then makes a call to his friend at J C J. Together they go through a couple of tests and diagnose the issue - failed fuel pump. The good neighbour asks his friend at J C J how much would that cost to repair and he quotes it over the phone. Given that these guys are friends and seem to know what they are doing we decide to have the car towed over to J C J. Now, remember that we are stuck in a town we hadn't planned to stay in... imagine our relief when the owner at J C J says, "no problem, we will order the part in the morning and have you on the road as quickly as possible." When the tow truck arrives at J C J my first impression is that they might take more parts than the repair. First impressions in this case were totally wrong. While the shop itself is busy and a bit cluttered that is likely a symptom of the fact that these guys are good at what they do... fix cars. The next day, the owner was on the phone several times to give us updates. By mid afternoon while we were waiting in the office we hear the "varoom" of our engine for the first time that day! Soon afterwards we were on the road and headed back to Phoenix. I should mention that we own an older British car. They seemed to have no issue getting the parts and fixing the car for us. I have been going to this shop for the last 23+ years; I don't know why I waited so long to post a review. Since day one, when I was referred to it after I got ripped off way too many times by other shops, I cannot have any complaints about this place. Not only the staff are easy to talk to, but it is a family owned business so whomever works on your car, one of the guys has a hand on it. I cannot count how many times I brought my car for a little "tweak" or check up and they did not even charge me. You do not find this type of service anywhere these days. The place could use a little tidying up especially of you have to wait for your car but I guess this is what you get when you want to save money. Instead of charging you over the top and make enough extra money on the place, you get to save money there. I got to a point where I do not even question them about the price or get quotes elsewhere; they are honest enough and do a good enough job that I trust them with my car. If you are on a very small budget, they will do what they can to meet you halfway without sacrificing quality (they use mostly original parts, unless you insist on lesser quality parts). I have been dealing with either Charlie or his brotherJoseph for all this time and they are there around the clock fro open to close, so it is good that you always deal with familiar faces. I even brought my car in at late hours and Charlie, dispite pulling 10-12 hour days for 6 days is always happy to stay behind and accomodate me, and I never even saw him angry or frustrated because of a bad day; always smiling and patient... The only thing I recommend though is to arrange for a ride to pick you up and drop you off there while having your car serviced, because their waiting room is not the cleanest, but as I said, at the end you will be happy to get great work and save money. CHARLIE SAVED MY LIFE. We were involved in a hit and run leaving the strip. We were stranded on the side of the road and had the vehicle towed off to a motel, where we checked in for the night. This man left his shop when he was very very busy.... We told him all we could afford, and he didn't stiff us with that. He really gave us a price we could work with...and still have money left over. Since we DID have to go and get two new tires.... Such a random review, it being I live in Orange County, but this man and his business deserve this praise. When I make a trip back to Vegas (which won't be for a long time given the bad luck with car trouble EVERY trip out there), I will personally stop by and thank him again for everything he did.....even though I feel it still won't be enough. read more

I must eternally thank my friend for referring me to her mechanic, Joseph! I love him!!! Finally! Someone who is honest, patient, helpful, kind, trustworthy and not money hungry! The location is a bit uncomfortable and could use a woman's tender-loving touch to clean up and spruce up at least the office, and I can only imagine the bathroom, lol! I made an appointment with Joseph for a routine tune up. He suggested I leave work early to give him enough time to finish. That was fine because I wanted it done. When I got there I was told Joseph wasn't there and wouldn't be back for 20 minutes, so I waited. After he got there and another 20 minutes went by, he brought me out to point out a few things that needed work on my car, including a tune up....so i waited 40 minutes for him to tell me I needed a tune up which is why I was there in the first place and left work early for!! Then the other things he said I needed added up to $1,400. One of the items was a timing belt. He asked me if it had been replaced and if not, it needed to be. I told him I needed to look into that because I didn't know off the top of my head, and i had bought the car used and I know previous work had been done on it. I'm obviously no expert, but shouldn't a mechanic be able to determine if it needs replacing or not after looking at it for so long? He kept pressing the timing belt thing and told me the car needs the replacement at 100K miles which would make mine due. I still told him I wanted to make sure the dealership who sold me the car didn't already do that maintenance. Then he pulled up a website to prove and convince me I need it ASAP he said. He was completely wrong, it said it needs replacement at 60K miles, so it could have been replaced already before i got the car. Then he told me the website was messing up!! BHAHAHAHHA what?? I'm just upset not only did I waste my time, but my paycheck took a hit as well so he could babble nonsense and do 0 things to my car..I didn't make the appointment to chat. One word: Amazing! I didn't know why my Jeep wasn't as fuel efficient & having trouble starting up sometimes. Luckily, J was there & fixed everything at a reasonable price within a couple of hours. Charlie has worked on a couple of my vehicles, and he took the time give me options whether I really needed something fixed or not as I don't have endless supplies of cash laying around to keep older vehicles running, and Charlie gave me estimates and quotes prioritizing were my money I had was best spent to keep my cars on the road. Most people find it hard to find an honest repair shop, but I believe these guys are trustworthy. I have had a couple issues with something that was repaired but needed some tweaking but these guys have always just taken care of it without complaint or trying to charge more money or blaming me for it. read more

If I could rate it more stars, I would. I was in Las Vegas for a trip when on a Friday night, my car broke down. The battery cable had been cut by battery acid so there was no way I could fix it or jury rig it. My whole trip was in jeopardy. I found JCJ Auto Repair in Yelp, and they were the only place open after 6PM. While I was happy I found an open shop, I was prepared for high prices. Instead, what I got was not only great service, but honest and fair pricing. The owner (Charlie?) himself handled the repair as soon as the tow truck dumped my car off. He was personable and friendly, and immediately assured me the repair was no big deal. Then, after taking care of it, he charged me about 1/4 of what a dealership would charge. Even though he could have help me up for a lot more, he is an honest man. I LOVE this place. I truly wish he would move to my city so I could have such a reliable and trustworthy place to take my vehicles to. The people of Vegas are very lucky to have such a great shop. read more
