There is a fee if you're using a debit/credit card. It was done in a very timely manner although there was a couple people in front of us and having two vehicle smog checks done we were in and out within an hour. NOW... never in my life getting a smog check has the place done any type of other Inspection. At first I was grateful. Then I was told that I would immediately need work on my motor mounts. I was told that for just over $1500 they would take care of this for me. They marked this as "urgent" on my paperwork and explained it as such. When I got back into my vehicle, I realize there was not a noise to be heard and generally with motor mounts, you hear some type of rattle or something inside of the cab. I took my vehicle immediately for a second opinion, and they advised there was absolutely nothing wrong with my motor mounts! I AM NOT ONLY DISGUSTED, BUT SUPER DISAPPOINTED IN PERFECT AUTO. So, I checked them out on Yelp, and sure enough, they had a 5 star rating! I immediately called and Bobby, who turned out to be the owner, answered the call. He said bring the car in and he would diagnose it free of charge. So, to make a long story even longer, Bobby and his crew of expert mechanics, jumped through rings of fire to get my A/C working again and even discovered that my fuse box had an internal short that was causing the compressor to kick in and out, and since that part wasn't available on time before we had to head back to Los Angeles, he showed me how to bang the box to get the compressor to start up again! All this effort was done at a very fair price. I would trust Bobby and his crew with any automobile issue. Absolutely first class!

I ended up paying $800 for the diagnostic, only to be told that the issue was no surprise it would cost around $9,000 to repair. After getting my vehicle back, I noticed that se veral fuse box/engine bay cover panels were missing. I called the shop and asked if they had them, but they said they did not. I politely asked them to review their security cameras, as I was certain the panels were there when I dropped the vehicle off, and I knew this was an area they had inspected. They initially said they would check the cameras. Since then, I've been getting the runaround. They now claim they spoke with the mechanic, who supposedly said the panels were already missing. At this point, it's not even about the panels it's about the lack of accountability and customer service. Needless to say, I will never be returning to this shop, and I would strongly recommend others think twice before trusting them with their vehicle.

I wasn't going to do this because I don't like talking down to people, however I personally used…read morethe reviews from Yelp to contact these guys so I feel obligated to share my own experience. First, I called the number provided and nobody answered. No biggie, I left a message on the obvious Google Voice system, it's been 48 hours and I'm still waiting for that call to be answered so I'm guessing nobody monitors that number. After I called, I took the time to fill out a detailed "request a quote" form and provided exceptional information to the respondant to save them time and effort if possible. I did receive follow up message where I described my issue in depth, I provided my availability and my general location and was told that I would be notified of appointment availability. Long story short, 18 hours of silence from the company led me to take my vehicle to a local shop and get my vehicle serviced. Almost 48 hours after requesting a quote I STILL haven't been offered an appointment. I guess it's probably a good thing that I'm not stranded beside the road waiting, I'd probably be carjacked by now. Not saying the dude doesn't do good work, but you must need to be special to get respect of an appointment or at least enough courtesy to decline the work because you don't have time.

Outstanding service! Was promptly greeted at the front desk by "Mike" and told him I would like someone take a look to ensure my 2014 Jeep Patriot with 59,108 mileage was road safe before driving 300 miles across the desert to visit family in Los Angeles. I had also done this same thing about a year ago at Prestige Dodge/Chrysler/Jeep Dealership on Centennial. At Prestige I was given a services quote amounting to $822.00, saying that I needed (among other things) replacement of a cracked/torn trailing arm bushing, replacing sway bar bushings, and replacement of sway bar end links. (I'm by far no expert regarding auto repair so I had to Google what these items were :( Also Prestige said I needed to have a brake system fluid exchange as my brake fluid was "excessively dirty/contaminated." At that time a year ago I opted not to have the repair Prestige listed as I did not have the $822. I had the oil changed and went on my way. Now it's a year later, and I have traveled back and forth to Los Angeles several times with no problem whatsoever - the Jeep rides as expected for a Jeep. I had heard several comments that Bobby and Mike at 5-Star Repair had years of experience and were highly recommended, so that's where I went this time. When I met Mike I was expecting a pricey estimate for what my Jeep supposedly needed. Wrong! Mike said my Jeep was in pretty good shape for a 2014 and all I needed was routine lube, oil and filter change and the customary no charge tires and fluids check. He had checked all the other items that Prestige said I NEEDED a year ago; and Mike said that nothing was cracked, excessively dirty, nor in need of replacement except the oil and filter, which was in need of changing - although was not excessively dirty. The only recommendation other than that was to use a better quality oil. Mike had the perfect opportunity to rack up some bucks on bushings/sway bar replacement, took the time to look at those items, and still said nothing was excessively worn now in need of replacement. In summary, I trust 5-Star Auto implicitly, especially when I see all the collectors' vintage autos that they are entrusted to work on. 5 Stars for 5-Star :) read more

Its hard to come across some good honest people nowadays. I always drive by there and admire all the olds schools that are parked in the front. From rat rods to lowriders to all American muscle, I love cruising by that joint. Unbeknownst to me that one day I will be a client I got more time than money so like a surgeon operating on a loved one I left him alone and let him do his job. My beloved 68 Riviera was dying and he fixed all the major repairs which I am very appreciative. There where many issues and he tackled them all methodically and precisely. Saves me time and money cause I been to joints where they do one thing one week and you back again cause something pops up not Bobby this guy was thorough. He called me to let me know "come swoop your ride its ready". The car had a new feeling, a vibe that was lost in time, and now my black beauty had got her groove back. I felt so ecstatic I was cheesing so hard last time I smiled that hard was back in the 7th grade when I first got my pinky stinky. I have never written a review or praised anyone on social media cause there's never been a reason till now. I am over the moon with 5 Star Auto Repair and highly recommend them from start to the end they carried themselves professionally and very helpful answering whatever question I threw at them, unlike some others that just want to take your money and get you out of there. I have a 2006 Honda-CRV and the starter failed to crank the engine. Had to get the AAA Roadside assistance to help me get the car started. The next day, I took my CRV to a local repair shop specializing on Honda. The estimate was $930.00 to replace the bad starter. Another local shop wanted $850.00 So, I searched Google for a Repair SHOP. Got a few listing and the 5-STAR Auto Repair was on the list. I called other Repair shops, but the 5-STAR were more friendlier over the phone. Plus their estimate to replace the starter was MUCH lower compared to the three other places. I spoke to a gentleman named Mike. He was very pleasant over the phone and he was very flexible, as I was able to drop off my CRV on Sunday night and slipped the Keys under the garage door with written notes. I felt confident my car will be safe even without having to meet anyone from 5-STAR Repair. It was simply a trust during our phone conversation that made me take my CRV to a place that haven't been before. Monday morning, I received a call that the starter was being replaced. I got a call that it was fixed. Saved a lot of $$$ going to 5-START Repair Shop. I will definitely go back if I needed other repairs. By The Way - there are some Vintage Collectables in the garage. My jeep wrangler had a few issues that built up over time, including a rear main seal leak that had been plaguing me for at least a year and had finally become a big problem. In addition to that, my car has over 100k miles and was due for a variety of work (differentials, transmission service). I'd been recommended to 5 star auto by 2 different mechanics and a friend and finally made it down to see Bobby the week prior to memorial day weekend. Not only did Bobby take care of all the known issues, he fixed a number of other things including my oil pan and radiator, and threw in a few things for free, and got my car detailed (which I of course destroyed going off-road that weekend!). Bobby also came in on Friday when he was supposed to have a day off to check on my car and make sure everything would be ready for me to come pick it up before the holiday weekend. I can't thank Bobby and 5 star auto enough! My car is doing great and for all the work I got done, the pricing was very fair and the work has already held up to some abuse. Very competent, professional, and fair prices for repairs!!! I recently needed my car checked out due to a quiet, squealing noise under the hood. My mechanic, (corvette specialist), went on vacation for a couple of months so I needed to find a place to take my C7 Corvette. I refuse to use the Chevy Dealers because of the incompetency I've dealt with over the years (this is my 5th corvette). I saw the reviews on 5 star Automotive and I was honestly shocked to see that many excellent reviews. I decided to do a drive by and Immediately felt comfortable to go inside and talk with them because the parking lot had many cars including 5 additional corvettes from the early 60's to a current C7 ZO6, many regular vehicles, and hot rods. They work on all cars. After speaking with Mike, who has a tremendous amount of knowledge, I decided to drop my car off. They fixed the water pump, looked for any additional possible issues (found nothing else wrong) and charged a very reasonable amount. The dealer quoted me over three hundred higher!! I am so thankful to have found 5 Star. Bobby ( the owner) really knows his stuff and is incredibly fair and honest. When I have needed major work done he has given me some big discounts. A few times I thought I needed major work and he could have said I did and I would have believed him, but he has gotten me out the door with only the minor repairs I actually needed. There has been at least 5 or 6 times when I needed some minor job done, (like needing a pulley pulled and I didn't have the tool, or needing a car checked over) and the guy absolutely refused to take any money from me. I also like the fact he takes the time to explain what's going on with my car. I am not the most knowledgeable guy when it comes to cars, but the owner always answers all my questions and answers me like I'm a close friend, (No, other than taking my cars there I have no other association with him), but yes, he treats me like a pal not like some bothersome annoying old guy, which sadly is probably closer to what I am. read more

Where do I start... my timeworn car just broke down nearly in front of Bobby's shop, literally. As expected I was upset, but this was the best thing that could have happened to me and my car. Not knowing anything about the shop or Bobby, I was concerned to say the least! When Bobby and his Team finished up my car it is now running better than it has in many, many years. I don't know much about the workings of cars, but I do know now I was dealing with an Honest and Up Front Mechanic. I am unsure how I got so lucky to have found 5 Star but he has a customer for life! Bobby and this place are amazing! They live up to their reputation and then some. My dad's GMC VanDura is from 1978 and most places refuse to even work on it, but Bobby's always just told my dad he can go to him if he needs it, and other places before that all directed my dad here. My dad has anxiety issues, and his van is his baby, with a lot of custom work from before, and it would be impossible to replace, I looked and there is nothing close to what he loves that I can find online, and Bobby and the rest understood this, and alleviated his fears. Seriously, these guys totally rock, and my dad is beaming knowing his van was well taken care of and that they found an issue that if left unchecked would have done who knows what else to his van. Wow!!! I was totally impressed! This was my first time to 5 Star Auto Repair. I took my car in for a diagnosis on my air conditioner and a few other things. Mike called right away to let me know what the status was on everything. I like the fact that they do that. They are very professional, honest, knowledgeable and they work all together as a team I noticed. I've lived in this town for over 30 years, and I can tell you the horror stories I had previously taken my vehicles to - some were auto repair shops and to dealerships. What a great place! We were traveling across country and needed emergency brake repairs on my '09 Impala. Initially I had called a dealer but when I got to the hotel and checked ratings I made a call and Mike said "get it here in the morning and we'll take care of it". I'm glad we did that. The people here are outstanding and they know what they are doing. They are HONEST and COMPETENT. I only regret that I didn't have more time to have them get my car in tip top shape. Bobby (the owner) is great and told me his philosophy of business: "I want my kids to say that maybe Dad didn't make the most money but he always did the right thing." I called all over town to try to find the best deal for my 2008 Chevy Avalanche truck. I needed it repaired ASAP because it's a business truck that I need for my job. I was getting prices all over the place for a new transmission. It was very confusing! A friend recommended I call 5 STAR AUTO. I talked to Bobby and he gave it to me straight. No BS, just honest, easy to understand information. Exactly what I wanted and needed! He explained what it should cost and what should be done. I have been driving past this business for years and always admired the beautiful cars lined up waiting for service or in the bay being worked on. All classics. Today I had reason to stop in, as I had engine light warnings. Bobby greeted me and had a mechanic go out to scan my 2003 Honda Odyssey, He confirmed misfires on 3 cylinders. Then Bobby himself came out to have a look and asked if I had any recent over heating problems. I acknowledged yes and he said I may need a head gasket and he added it was not worth doing so, because the car has 210,000 miles. Not many mechanics would tell you it was not worth doing. We all know how hard it is to find a good mechanic, and finding an honest one was impossible as far as I was concerned, but I was wrong. These guys are good and more importantly they are honest. I took my 2007 Chrysler Town and Country in for a oil change and it was leaking oil. I am a senior citizen and a woman. They were honest and told me the oil leak was the oil filter. When I had oil changed by another large chain they didn't tighten the screws enough on the filter. That's why it was leaking . I lucked into finding them, I happened to live nearby and decided to take my car there I'm very happy with the results!! Great service, helpful staff, they've got good vibes all around!! I Wrecked my car & got quote they couldn't repair everything cuz my car needed some body & paint work(they don't offer paint services)but recommended another place for the rest. I couldn't get a same day tow through my insurance and they told me not to worry they'll keep it over memorial weekend. It Took the stress off of me for several days they were very understanding. they have a sort of small town vibe in there shop that brings me back to home. Hands down best garage in Vegas probably in all US. Gas Monkey has nothing on these guys The love and passion in hard work this crew puts into all of their vehicles is on another level. I took in my 67 mustang in and told them to do their thing and surprise me and it was beyond my wildest dreams I couldn't of picked A better color scheme body job and mechanical work if I had tried. Got a battery from here. The owner took the time to run a quick diagnostic to make sure the battery was indeed the problem. Then he actually helped me call other places like Auto Zone and Walmart to see if a cheaper battery were available. He explained my options and said (which is awesome), "of course, I'd love for you to buy from me, but if you can get a better deal that's better for you that's what I want because I want you to walk away knowing I was straight with you." I was traveling through Vegas mid afternoon on a Friday when my van broke down and I was in a pinch. Bobby took a look at my van and came up with a plan within minutes, it was a big fix and him and Michael stayed late till 8pm to fix it! Amazing service super nice guys- the miracle I needed! had great conversation with Michael while I was hanging at the shop. HIGHLY RECOMMEND ! Knowledgeable, honest and caring ! To find that combination in an auto mechanic in Vegas is no easy feat. Mike and crew are MASTER CRAFTSMEN that get the repair done right the first time for a fair price and are a pleasure to deal with. Even a well-meaning mechanic can do costly damage to your car. I have decades of experience owning older cars. New cars are a computer walk in the park to repair. Older cars require the real mechanic brain power of a master mechanic.
