I was referred here by a parts supplier after running into issues with my usual mechanic. From the initial phone call to leaving after my visit, service was solid- knowledgeable, straightforward, professional. Had several issues getting the actual work done, from the problem being more complex than originally thought, a delay with a part delivery, and another warning light popping up on my dash- but things were handled pretty well considering it was a larger time commitment than originally expected, just prior to a holiday weekend. I do wish that all of my issues had been addressed before I left, but I will keep Michael and the guys in mind for future work. Notes: This garage does specialize in older, hot-rod style vehicles. Forget calling these guys mechanics. These guys are Jedi masters when it comes to high performance engines. Took in my pumped up 350 that was running like poo poo. They got it done. Worth every penny. Extremely happy with my engine and how its running. Yes my C10 is a work in progress. But they got it running right! Bobby the owner is the right guy for your classic and custom rides. I've spent thousands chasing oil leaks and he was able to get me situated, even redoing the rear main seal that another shop (Metropolitan Auto) screwed me over on, and didn't charge me for it. This is not a small job and took at least 9 shop hours. Mike the mechanic is a classic New York auto mechanic who will blow smoke in your face and tell you "bro I got this" as you cruise off into the sunset knowing you're in good hands here. My 1979 Trans Am was a junk yard find and had been sitting for 6 years so I knew this was going to be a major project. I hauled this heap to 5 Star Auto. I keep telling everyone these guys are miracle workers. This car is back from dead and they did it fast. Within two hours of dropping it off, they had already diagnosed and told what parts needed to be replaced and in a matter of a week the car was done. This is insanely fast for how many old parts needed to be swapped out. Also, I need to touch on the honesty and enthusiasm of the place. I know now that I will never ever take my cars somewhere else. I wish I'd known about them sooner, it would've saved me a lot of money. And in regards to enthusiasm, they treated my car like the sentimental piece of art that I feel like it is, and they treat everyone else's car the same way. Huge thanks to these guys.
