They sold me one of the best vehicles I ever owned! It's my first truck and I'm very happy with it. It's a 2001 Ford F150 Lariat 4 by 4 and it's in great shape. It did need most of the fluids changed and the AC charged. It is 25 years old and I expected to have to do some work on it, but the body and inside is in beautiful condition. I bought my 2013 Hyundai Genesis from them about 7 yrs ago & absolutly love my car, but have 2 things to say about this car dealer. 1) they sold me a car that had no gas in it. It was on empty & I asked if they were going to fill this car up, & they said no! So that was my 1st stop when I pulled off their lot! 2) they sold me the car w only 1 key fob & I asked about a 2nd set of keys, & they told me that's all they had gotten from previous owner. Other than that , I've been pretty happy w the car & I would buy from them again, but will do my homework on my next car, bc they got me for an extra $3,000. Charlie will sell you a LEMON. I was sold an 2012 Audi a4 for 10k. On the first oil change Midas said WHOA this car is soaked in oil you should sell it. i wanted to trust charlie, i took it to a mechanic. The mechanic inspected the car and immediately saw shoddy work, silicon used to seal broken parts, a quick fix to make it okay to sell. if charlie didn't do the shoddy work mentioned above - he would have absolutely seen the shoddy work - which should have triggered an inspection before selling this vehicle. the engine in question requires a complete re-build, i will end up paying double the cost of the car in order to make it drivable. the signs were great enough that charlie should have looked closer into this car before selling it - i fear they cleaned it up to sell it to me knowing it was a lemon. unethical business - said there was nothing that could be done for me - even though he understood he sold me a lemon that had obvious warning signs any mechanic would have caught. read more

Salespeople seems nice but will sell you a piece of poo with a smile. I got a 2016 dodge journey from them only to find out 31 days later that the catalytic converter was out...BOTH of them. They'll push you to get a warranty that doesn't cover any of the issues that'll actually be wrong with the car and won't tell you that it's added onto the price. I was told the total of my car would be about $12,000. A little while later I tried to cancel the warranty only to find out that the warranty was almost $2000 added on the car loan which meant that they didn't actually tell me the total price of the car because if I had said no to the warranty I would've just owed 10k. I had to get a new car and now I'm upside down on my loan because they are not a certified used car lot so they don't have to follow state laws unlike places like Carmax and other brand name used car places. Just when I thought I was going to purchase the car I did a quick scan on KBB only to find that this car had major issues. When I brought it to Laura's attention and showed her what KBB said she says "oh it's a rebuilt title, we would've known that when we ran a check". To make the story short my husband got a truck there, had it for a day and it was turning off on him so he contacted them to trade it in which we did but that truck eventually broke down on us as well within a year. We were paying for a broken down truck that was never in good condition to begin with so we had to trade in that truck and MY car for an SUV at an actual dealership (Honda). Don't go here. They know how to work you and sell you cars in horrible condition. Idk how this place is open and they're getting away with this. Bought a 2013 vw Passat SE from these guys in February . What I thought was a great deal turned into a nightmare. Car only had 40,000 miles on it and I bought it for 10k with 2k down after fees and taxes still owe 9 grand. In April not even a full 2 months after owning the car my engine pretty much blew up. My car had a cracked head. After being torn apart and inspected by a real mechanic it was found that head gasket sealer was in the system to cover up the problem. I've had the engine swapped now for a cool $3,000 I wasn't planning on spending. These guys are either crooks or they don't inspect the vehicles well at all. I will be contacting my lawyer. Anyways I didn't want a warranty but that was a big mistake. These guys sell you the car as-is and if the car blows up after a day you're out of luck. read more

We began looking around at cars and a older white man with a mustache approaching us asked what we were looking for. I told him I was looking around currently to see what dealer I was thinking of getting my new vehicle from. Before even getting my name or asking what type of vehicle I was looking for, he asked me how much I wanted to spend on the down payment alone not including fees and insurance and such. I don't have the worst credit and I make a decent amount of money and Because I was taught to be a low baller and work your way up at a dealership, I told him I was looking to put down around $1500. After telling him this, he smiled, chuckled, and proceeded to shoo his hands like I was a fly and began walking away and told me to "come back when I have more money kid". This is unacceptable customer service to insult someone like this. I work for a major social media company and would have no problem haggling and talking a little like an ADULT to see about purchasing a car there. Never going back there. AVOID THIS PLACE, had a terrible experience with changing quotes, raising prices, and sales member who began calling me names after I told him to leave me alone! Contacted them for a car priced $5,999 and I said I'd buy it. 20 minutes later told me sorry, miscommunication, the price is now $7,999. What?! But said that since I'm paying cash and don't need financing they'd do it for $7,999 straight off the lot and no dealer fees. When I contacted them 2 days later to inquire if the car was there Dominic quoted me $9,200 off the lot. Okay so the price jumps $3,000. This place is shady! When I said please stop contacting me Dominic continues to email me, I used some strong language at this point and explained how frustrating it is to have THE PRICE JUMP UP TWICE! So he responds with a series of emails with curse words and DEROGATORY and HOMOPHOBIC photos! Incredibly bad experience with raising prices and repeated insults from the sales members which bordered on harassment. The last week in January my husband and I stopped in to view a vehicle we had seen online. Unfortunately, it had been sold the previous day but we were determined to purchase that day as my husband is extremely busy and this was his first free day in weeks. We did find another vehicle (2018 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 crew cab) that was well within our price range. A sales associate approached us and we asked if we could test drive, she told us that they only allow a test drive if we've already been pre qualified through our bank. We then tried to tell her we had cash on hand but she cut us off and began to tell us another customer had inquired about the same truck and that was another reason why we couldn't test drive. She then told us that the other customer was trying to figure out his financial stance and would be back the following week to potentially buy. She didn't even give us the chance to reply and cut us off quickly every time we tried to respond. We left feeling pretty disappointed and confused as we were ready to purchase. The following week we called to inquire about the same vehicle. The person on the phone said yes, it's available! I then asked do you not allow test driving unless the customer is pre-qualified? The person on the phone said "Oh no, If a customer comes in and they have a valid driver's license we let them test drive". I then told them what was told to us the previous week and that the sale associate told us about having to be pre-qualified through our bank and they didn't offer financing at the dealership. The person on the phone said "oh no, we do offer financing options or the customer can get approval through their bank whichever the customer is more comfortable with. I said OK, we were just curious because we purchased at Charlie's before and weren't told any of this the previous times. The sales associate on the phone asked if we were still interested in test driving and asked which vehicle. And guess what!?! The associate on the phone was the same sales associate who told us we couldn't test drive unless we were pre-qualified through our bank!! After telling her which vehicle we were looking at and how we found a screw in the back passenger tire... She replied "Oh yeah! That was me. I remember you guys". So then I asked, can we test drive without being pre-qualified? She replied... "Oh Umm... I can, I can go with you guys for a test drive". Now, I don't know why this sale associate said one thing to our face and something completely different to us on the phone. I can only assume it was because she couldn't see our face on the phone but could clearly see who we are, and by are, I mean my race, the color of our skin in person. Which is why she chose to treat us one way in person and in a completely different way on the phone. We wanted bring awareness of the disgusting way the sales associate treated us and by being as bold as she was with it, it's safe to say we probably aren't the only ones she has treated this way. We did end up purchasing a vehicle from another dealership, who were courteous and welcoming . The sales associate was incredibly unprofessional and also cost your dealership a cash sale. To clarify.. the sales associate was Laura Hertzberg. We will never buy from Charlie cheap cars again nor will we refer any family or friends to this dealership. 2 months after purchasing van, check engine light turns on. Turns out cylinder 6 is misfiring. Mechanic asked if I have done any work recently, which I have not, because the spark plug for cylinder 6 was changed recently. I believe dealership changed it to cover up the fact that that cylinder was no good. Is that possible? Now I am stuck with a $4600 bill for which PWI warranty will not deal with. $4004 of it is for an engine breakdown that a PWI investigator wanted before making a decision whether they will pay the repair. The mechanic found the problem which is covered by the warranty company but now will not return the mechanics phone call. Anybody have any suggestions about dealing with this? read more

On 05/31/18 I had visited Charlie Cheap Car thinking that they could help me get into something bigger with a trade in. After speaking with Sam over the phone a few days prior to my visit, I was convinced to give them a chance. What a waste of my time. I had spoke to Duane since Sam was in the middle of doing a transaction with a customer. Duane had asked me some information about my income which I had advised him that I'm an independent contractor and credit. What appalled me was when I had told Duane that my income was a certain amount, I had seen his face twist a bit. I knew then that my visit was going to go south. Long story short Duane says that the bank won't approve me due to my income amount, and I would need a co-signer. I had advised Duane that my income could vary a little from month to month. Even if my income would change for the better, I don't see myself purchasing a vehicle from them in the future. They have not earned my business. UPDATE: In response to review rebuttal from business. Never received a call, text or even email so I didn't waste my time and friend's gas. Instead they try to get me to look around for another car, that I hadn't checked out beforehand. bought a car here and the service contract would not be honored because it was a "used" car. they knew it was used when they agreed to take it on the contract. timing belt started having issues after 2 months of having it and then sat for about a month or so until the 3 month contract was up. was told it was the timing belt by a trusted mechanic, and when using the dealership mechanic was told it was the axles. my mechanic was willing to fix the axles, but when inspected, the axles looked brand new. the timing belt/engine gets worse with every drive and ive only driven it about 2 times since we saw it wasnt the axles. laura was great and very apologetic, but chris the manager showed no remorse and made the problem feel very minimized. i wouldnt be surprised if he knew what was wrong with the car. read more
