On June 11, 2018 I purchased a ring for my "Now" Fiancé. I purchased this ring at the JC Penney's off of Chandler Blvd. and the 202. I was so happy that I was able propose to the Love of my Life. Unfortunately, the ring i purchased was TARNISHING and was PEELING after 5 days! I was absolutely shocked i specifically asked the sales representative to assist me with finding a ring that was durable and would be easy to maintain with cleaning. In which he advised me the ring i selected would be what I was looking for. Apparently Not.. Fast forward to Today at this following location. My Fiancé and I wanted to advise them of this situation and exchange for a different ring. When we get there we were NOT greeted, or even acknowledged. We were finally able to get a rep and her trainee to assist and showed them the ring. They looked at us as if we were dumb and bothering them When we showed them the ring the sales representatives response was "that's normal for the time that you have had the ring" she didn't even look at the receipt. we showed her that we have only had the ring for (12) days and the metal peeling away should NOT be happening.She was extremely rude and seemed irritated then said" This ring is Defective". And made myself and my fiancé were very uncomfortable. We had asked if they could please show us other rings. A ring that had a similar look to the ring we were returning but definitely a different metal and I will pay the difference. We weren't shown any other rings or helped at all. She called another representative to take her spot because she was leaving. I thought maybe her actions were due to her wanting to go home. Still, this is CUSTOMER SERVICE and SALES. The rep who took her spot was no different at all. We ultimately ended up getting our refund and left. I'm very disappointed in the way we were treated. This experience all the away around was not good and will never be forgotten. I would not recommend any friends or family here.I hope that someone has a better experience then we did. I wish I would've taken pictures of how much of a hot mess this store is. I have never been in a department store where clothes are just tossed in big piles and you are expected to just search the a hot mess. The store manager and department heads should be ashamed of themselves for running a store like that. TJ Maxx are more organized this that store. I will definitely not be coming back to that store. Just make it a clearance store then I would expect the way it looks. read more

This store has really gone downhill and it makes me so sad! It used to be my go-to for many things. The last two visits, I've walked in to find the clothing departments a complete mess with clothes all over the floor and walked right back out of the store. This has been going on for at least 6 months because I was there in the summer with bathing suits all over the floor. The dressing rooms are full of clothes thrown on the chair or floor and I've heard the employees complaining about keeping up with it. There has to be a better way. I'm going to break-up with this store for awhile and hopefully they can get their act together so I can go back in the future. read more

This is by far the worst JCP I have ever been to. The store is clean and bright but that is where the good ends! The customer service is non-existent! Had an employee at the Jewelry tell my wife that she needed to watch a video on her phone and go ask her manager for help....WOW really!! Then we needed help with men's shoes, they had a pair of brown sketchers I really liked and the employee couldn't find any besides the display and even said that NO other JCP had them or online....well we found them not only online but at another store! Management really needs to retrain their entire staff in this store! read more

I unfortunately need to give this store a poor rating based on the following: -Ordered custom blinds on 10/27 and as of 12/4 still have not received them -Blinds Department is not familiar with the custom ordering process -They will tell you that they do not know who to contact regarding your order -When finally getting a hold of someone they tell you that your custom blinds have not been ordered because the material was discontinued Well then why was I charged for this purchase if the order was never made? Why wasn't he purchase credited automatically when the item cannot be delivered. Why was I not contacted directly by JCP Home regarding my order? Now I have to start the process over and I will not receive my window coverings until 2018. I will not be ordering custom window shades from JCP again. read more

The store is nicely laid out. Everything is clean and well stocked. I've shopped here many times. I also shop online. My challenge is that due to my 6' 5" frame I need the extra large sizes. The big and tall section is gone. I circled the men's section repeatedly to no avail. I also looked for a store clerk. None to be had. The lines to the cashier wrapped out to the front door. Alas. If I could give negative stars I would. I made an appointment in their salon a week before. Arrived on time to my appt and was told it would be a few minutes while the stylist finished up another client. 45 min goes by, the stylist comes out and hardly apologizes then says it will be a few more minutes and she'll be done. 1 HOUR AND 15 MINUS after my scheduled appointment time the stylist still wasn't done so I just left. So disappointing. I'm pregnant with my first child and got a gift card for Christmas for maternity clothes since money is extremely tight. J.C. Penney stopped selling maternity clothes because they weren't moving fast enough according to the sales girl that I asked. She assured me they do sell maternity clothes online which doesn't really help me. I've never been pregnant before I have no idea what size I am or how things fit. read more

I feel like this place has really improved. I never expected to be a fan of JCPenneys but they do a lot of coupons to keep you coming back and the overall appearance of the store has improved. They have a lot of options for juniors/young adults/womens and my husband always finds nice dress shirts in the men's department. Keep up the good work! read more

I picked up my image cd and photo cards at the portrait studio this morning. They promptly retrieved my items, and they surprised me with a calendar, a magnet and a few other pieces of miscellany emblazoned with images of my adorable newborn baby and dog. All for the low low price of $20. I did not order these items. These items were not discussed with me. JCPenney felt free to print up these items, using images of my dog and my child without my consent. I felt emotionally blackmailed. As for the rest of the experience, they take 20 images for their copyright free image cd. I understand that they can't take unlimited pictures, but they took closer to 50 pictures and made me choose which ones to get rid of. There is apparently no way to retrieve these images once they've moved on to the next screen, so ask them to warn you before they do so if you think you're human and might change your mind. It is nonsensical and stingy not to simply include all of these images on the cd. The staff is friendly. Some of them seemed slightly confused about the inner workings of their computer system. The manager was much better at the basics of photography than her subordinate. I don't blame the employees so much as Penneys for insufficient training. It took 2 weeks for the cd and cards to be ready. No one from Penneys called when they arrived. read more

Beware of the hair salon! Not the most qualified hair stylists and lack personality. We went for my boys back to school haircuts. We explained the cut we like (shorter on the sides, a little longer on top and spike the front up), not too complicated and have never in my sons 10 years ever had a problem. Well, he came out with a military haircut. It's super SHORT! When he son panicked and told the male associate he thought it was too short, the stylist just said, "It will grow back". Wow....I'm disgusted! My younger son saw a female hair stylist, she was ok, but nothing special either. We will never go back. read more

Brought my 8 year old son here for a quick haircut before family photos. 45 minutes and three stylists later, we had a barely passable cut that we will need to take somewhere else to get fixed. First stylist had no idea how to cut hair, and tried to pass off completely crooked "cut" as done. Awful. read more

Gave them another chance and ordered online with store pick up again. This time my 3 items were all ready by the time they promised which was wonderful! BUT their pickup at store is a joke. They make you wait through the entire line in the front where people are checking out AND RETURNING THINGS! Anyone who returns items knows to be prepared to wait a while because the person in front of you always has NO RECEIPT and NO TAGS on the item they are returning! Come on... you KNOW this is true! LOL! So after waiting 22 minutes to pick up my items that I had already paid for was a joke. Since I order online to AVOID having to wait in these crazy lines JC Penneys need to change their in store pick up if they expect customer to use it! Other department stores have a special desk for pick up so you never have to wait (that is the reason we order online!) They have 6 counters up there...make one of them online pick up!! Bummer...coz really wanted this time to be a good experience because I like Penneys... :( read more

Bought a pair of slacks and a tee shirt the other day. They had a great selection and 20% off with a coupon. I do think there is an issue with up keep at this store. Everywhere you walk in there, it looks look little kids went through and tossed clothes and merchandise all over the place. No problems with the customer service. The store was busy, but I was able to check out within 5 minutes of getting into the queue for checkout. read more

The JCP Salon in Chandler is where it's at! Let me begin by saying my hair has never looked this good and I owe all of it to my new and now long term Designer Stylist Elizabeth! In the past, I have paid close to $100 for haircuts and well over $300 just for highlights and ended up going home feeling uneasy, stressed out hair and completely uneven bangs! Not to mention my wallet was empty. When Elizabeth was done with me, I could hardly contain my excitement, she completed my visit with awesome shampoo, conditioner and some product for heat protection. Elizabeth also wrote down additional products she used while she worked on my hair. She was so helpful and even showed me a few styling tricks I could do every morning to make my life easier :). Elizabeth is an extremely talented, thoughtful, creative hair stylist and I am delighted to have given JcPennys Salon a chance. If you are in need of a haircut or something new or can relate to my high end salon disappointments, go see Elizabeth...she will not disappoint! read more

This is a nice store! It is well layed out, clean and organized. The sales people are very helpful and they have great sales. My sister was looking for something to wear to a wedding, nothing dressy since it was to be outdoors by a lake, but something nice as well as comfortable. She found just the right thing and the sales women asked if she had the coupon to get even more off the already sale price. We did not have a coupon so she promptly gave us one. Score! We browsed around the store looking at housewares and some clothes for my daughter. I scored a cute scort and shirt as well as 2 pairs of flip flops for her, all on sale. The other thing I love about this location is the Sephora located within the store. This means I don't have to brave the mall if I just need one or two items. I was looking for some face clenser and moisturizer. The sales woman was helpful and gave me three samples of cleanser to try. I grew up going to J.C. Penny and so many of their stores have closed over the years but I'm glad this one is close to me and offers the things I need. read more

Got my hair cut at the JCPenney salon by a girl in her early 20s, who had been cutting hair for at least a couple of years. She said she attended all the newest workshops and shows to learn the latest techniques. I told her how I liked my hair, had it shortened about 2-3 inches with long layers. Nothing too complicated. She started styling my hair with a roundbrush and over time began using a flatiron to style my hair. I have realized that stylists do this when the hair isn't coming out as they expected, and the flatiron hides the layers and imperfections from the client at first sight. The cut was $33 and she gave me a coupon with $13 off, so it came to $20. I figured I could style it myself when I got home to get the style I wanted. When I did, I realized my hair was very bulky, the layers were not textured and they didn't lay right. I won't be going back. read more

The womens clothing dept looks as if a frumpy, middle aged woman chose all the clothes. Nothing fits nicely (I'm a size 4-6) and most of the patterns are just down right ugly. After spending more than an hour in the dressing room trying on ill fitting clothes I finally found 3 items that actually fit. Then, after an hour of looking at expensive - even with the sale - cheaply made accessories (and not buying a single one) I went to check out. There were literally 25 people in line and only 2 cashiers! To top it off, the line was not even moving! I could see the manager frantically trying to reach associates to help out, but no one came. You would have thought she might have jumped behind a register??? Plus, you would think they would have scheduled more cashiers as this was a Sunday, holiday weekend AND they were having a sale! After about 10 minutes of standing in a line that was not moving, I walked out. If I wanted cheaply made, ugly clothes I would have gone to Kohls. At least they always have plenty of cashiers!! I ordered 2 weddings bands, after 2 weeks I went back to check on the status and the employee never put none of the orders, in top of that she put the wrong name, wrong phone number, and wrong address, how is that even possible when you have a driver license in front of you? Well, we order the rings again, waited 2 more weeks when back and AGAIN, the orders where never on the system!!! JC penney I am not going back and you loose more than $3,000! read more

Around September 4th, I went online to JCPenney.com and ordered two maternity tops for my daughter and had them delivered to the store on Gilbert Road. When I went there, I got notification that 1 would not be available and it was refunded. Ok. Disappointed that I wasn't told before I go to pick it up, but ok. September 21st, I order 2 more tops for my daughter. I keep going online and it says that my order is "in process" and will be delivered between 4-7 business days. This has been 13 business days later it still shows in process. I go online and contact the store by instant chat and Courtney in Kansas. She seems very nice but tells me I need to contact the store and see if they have it because she doesn't show it. She then proceeds to give me the number to call. She had all my info, but couldn't call for me? I call the store and Justin looks and said that they do have it. I asked why I wasn't notified and he said it is all automated and they have no control over it. I asked why the website wasn't updated and he said the same thing. I would have bought these clothes in the store, however, maternity wear is not in the stores. Only for online purchase. I will never buy from them again. They just lost a loyal customer for lack of customer service. read more

In the market for a new refrigerator as my Whirlpool of 3 years turned out to be a POS so thought I would give Penney's a try. For me turned out to be a good move. Young man by the name of Trey greeted me and we got into a very informative discussion, what I hated about my current product, my needs, etc. He impressed me greatly with not only with his knowledge of appliances in general but each of the manufacturers and was quite candid in sharing his opinion as to which had the best features, reliability, etc. when it came to not just refrigerators, but also washers, dryers, etc. Gave me a heads up on upcoming pricing changes as well in case that affected my purchasing. When I told him I would come back and ask for him as I am loyal to good salespeople, he told me not to worry as all their team was on salary, just wanted to fit the customer correctly. Even showed me how to order online and get the full advantage of all coupon discounts available. Ended up buying GE this time and it was delivered on the requested date as promised. Used to buy all my appliances at Sears over the years but I will definitely include shopping at Penney's Gilbert if I can continue to work with Trey or others with his same skill an attitude. read more

This store has the worst customer care in the industry. Got a watch as a gift and because I didn't have a receipt they wouldn't do the complimentary sizing or exchange it. Almost every store will do an exchange without a receipt. Will never do business with JcPenneys again. read more
