For years I had shopped at JC Penny. They had amazing EVERYTHING! One of my homes was entirely decorated in JC Penny...all of the dishes, the actual beds, the bedding, the bathroom...the ENTIRE home. I even hired JC Penny to come in and do all of my custom drapery and Levalor Blinds for every window in my home. I spent so much money but I loved them. Then they hired a new person to take over and the company went down hill drastically. The clothing styles are just not as great. My corporate wardrobe consisted of QUALITY clothing. Now it just looks like a bargain store. Everything is cluttered. The employees lack customer service skills. I used to shop in person and on line 2-3 times a WEEK. I hadn't shopped there in YEARS. I recently purchased some Christmas gifts for my nephew and daughter. Sad to say, JC Penny doesn't seem to have recovered. Quality clothing seems to still be lacking. My fiance and I were about to purchase $10,000 worth of jewelry for our upcoming wedding. If they get commission based off of that, they lost a good opportunity. The Hispanic lady with dark hair and a headband on her head didn't even acknowledge us. Not a hello, not a smile. Just straight up had us waiting. An older lady with white hair said "you have customers" and not even then did she look our way. Very rude! We continued to wait patiently, but she didn't bother. It has a terrible costumer service , After taking a number and waited almost 30 minutes to assist me., this lady attending the jewelry department "Luz" still has time to ignore us customers waiting., and talks to other customers not in line ., until I said to her ., we had number tickets and been waiting in line for a while. She stated to me . No they had been waiting here also ., I thought that was rude of her ., for not asking first ., who's next in line .. since then her demeanor was very rude towards me I left a silver chain to be clean and it took almost 3 months to be return to me. Also no one else was able to find it . Until I was able to talk to this lady again , and miraculously my chain appeared but I can't tell it was never sent to get clean . I am a fan of JCPenney as they have some pretty good deals. Before COVID it was a bit crazy shopping at this location, especially the clothing department was a bit unorganized and long lines. Since COVID, things have changed a bit but I've mostly have been coming here for the jewelry sales. Since COVID, I have utilized in-store pickup and can honestly say that curbside is extremely faster. I did do in-store pickup which is located near the Men's department and the line was extremely long, with one guy working the pickup counter and another working the returns which was the same counter. It seemed extremely slow, must've only been 4-5 people in front of me but took a good 20-25 minutes to get the the front of the line... when the purpose is to be in and out in a timely fashion. I learned my lesson and either had it shipped or pickup curbside. Recently have made separate trip for jewelry and have had great excellent customer service. Have been greeted and asked if i needed assistance and there was only one time I had to wait to get assistance due to the jewelry department being busy. The only downfall I've come to realize is some jewelry available in store, I cannot find online to purchase and pickup curbside and some items online, I can't view them in store. I get not all locations carry the same items, it would be nice to have a bit of a selection to choose from at other locations, as I wouldn't mind a bit of a drive. So hopefully that changes in the future. Was able to grab some steal deals on holiday matching pants for xmas pictures and curbside staff is quick and efficient. Second experience with a kid named Victor, always chatting and never working, scanned my items twice and refused to apologize. I went in today with my family and my mother was asked by two associates, one being a possible manager, if she was going to be paying with her JCPenny card and when she said no they asked wanted to sign up for one. my mother said no multiple times. this is all while she's shop with me and my family, not when she was ready to check out. our cart was empty and we had just passed by the registers. one associate also kept asking my mother if she spoke Spanish while my mother said no to getting a card. when we had moved away from there to the associates left the register to follow and ask others if they wanted the card. it felt hostile and uncomfortable. we felt like they just cared if they got someone signed up not if they were having a good time shopping. as someone with retail experience, it felt disappointing to have them act rude with my family. at checkout my relative paid for the purchase with their card yet the one of the early associates had still tried to pressure my mother into getting a card. my relative wanted to apply a coupon but the cashier instead offered to add a discount only if my mother gets a card. read more

I was asking about if my warranty was going to be extended on my jewelry because they are currently not cleaning because of covid. Very disappointed in management of this store. Yesterday while shopping there was continuous directives to staff that "they aren't too busy to make announcements." I must have heard this three times while standing in line to check out. I asked to ring a coat purchase ($69) separate from my other purchase of $350+ so I could use my $10 coupon on the coat. The other associate chimed in that the cant or they will be fired. I asked to speak to the manager and she told me, "no it is only one coupon per day"...really on purchases over $400....you can't use a little common sense? I took my stuff to the car then returned to buy the coat. And finally, I get home only to find that the cashier left the anti-theft device on not ONE but TWO pairs of trousers I bought. I unfortunately visited this JCPenney store location a couple of days ago as I wish I didn't at all. Store management is absolutely poor at this store. I picked up a pillow and a box of socks so that I could use my $10 of $25 coupon as I'm also a JCPenney Credit Card Holder. I was told by cashier that she cannot price match the pillow which was $15 (original price: $30) and had to order it online and ship it to my house which defeats the purpose of using my designated coupon. I've been easily able to price match online items to in-store items at JCPenney, American Eagle, Macy's, etc.... I asked to speak to the Store Manager but he was off as I waited around 10 minutes to speak to a manager who barely spoke English to begin with as she used her employee to interpret for her from Spanish to English. Manager failed to give me an explanation of why being unable to price match online items to in-store!!! Avoid this lousy store for sure! JCPenney customer service is the worst! I ended up calling online customer service as they failed to satisfy a valued customer like me as I've been their card holder since 7 years. I am a huge fan of JCP but I know I will never come back to this location. Adam and I went to a movie at this mall and decided to stop at this location to use some of my reward coupons for some new towels. It took us a bit to find where the towels were but we found them and we were able to get the towels we picked out and move on. We honestly should have just cashed out at that time but I had just found out I was pregnant and we were beyond excited and wanted to look at the baby stuff. Getting to the baby section was.... interesting. We walked through most of the store to get to the baby corner. I say corner because it was a really small section with baby stuff and we were sad to see that there really wasn't anything gender neutral that we could get for the baby. It was also a complete wreck. There was stuff tossed everywhere, things on the floors, racks tipped over. It looked like a tornado went through. On our way to find a cash register we stopped at the mens section as Adam wanted to look for some sweat pants. As he was looking, there was a bit of a situation between a man and security. The man was screaming and yelling and security was just trying to get him out of the store. Things were starting to get a little heated so Adam and I decided to abandon the look for sweatpants and found a cash register. The line was super long and it took forever for us to get through to actually cash out. Unfortunately during that time, the person who was causing a ruckus downstairs near the men section was now upstairs also causing a ruckus. It was an interesting time for sure. When we finally got cashed out and headed to our car, there were cop cars everywhere and they were also driving around.... I knew after that we would never come back to this location but I am so happy I had reward points because I got 6 new towels for under $10!! That was the only positive of the entire experience. Went to JC Penney to buy some more eyeliners from Sephora in JC Penney. Make up galore for me. I love the Sephora brand. More than ULTA. I have a Beauty insiders card for Sephora. I'm such a fan of make up. Come early and they have lots to choose from like name brands like NARS, Two Faced and so much more. I dislike Urban Decay cause it has bees wax which I'm allergic to. I'd rather wear all natural ingredients on my face. Most eyeliners have a small amount of bees wax in it which causes me to break out so I read ingredients in make up now. I like the Sephora brand which doesn't cause me to break out. I also like Two Faced, NARS, and others that don't have bees wax. The lady at the register was nice and rang me up quickly. Had a descent experience here. I will be back for my free sample lip gloss on October 21. read more

Three cashiers were unable to redeem the coupon and did not try to find an alternative solution to the problem. I generally like JCPenney but this location gives me bad vibes. Maybe it's the fact that one of their floors is underground. Maybe it's the fact that not one employee even acknowledged me until I was l already in line. Who knows. What I do know is that the place made me feel unwelcomed. The mens department (specifically where the dress shirts are) was in utter chaos. I want to blame the sales going on at the time, but as someone who used to work in retail I know that that's no excuse. It definitely doesn't take much to set aside maybe 30 minutes to clean up a bit. The one line I saw confused me a bit seeing as I saw several employees fixing and folding clothes that were practically already folded. I don't think anyone there wanted to clean up the dress shirt area. Also, the fitting rooms are kind of hidden - at least I felt that way. The signs were hidden at different angles because someone thought it would be a good idea to hang clothes almost directly adjacent to the signs. I don't know what else to tell you. This place just gives me bad vibes. On the bright side, the company itself has some good deals so...maybe go to another location? read more

After spending about 2-3 days searching for a decent green tie we came here. Such a bigg selection in ties omg wow!! Many different styles, materials and brands. We choose one out of two others that we Found. Kinda pricey but the cashier i believe her name was ana. She was an older lady anyways... they had a promo going on.and the tie that baes chose wasn't apart of that promo but she gave it to is anyways and saved us $15! They use the registers by Sephora as a damn storage. Hire more damn people! I talked to a supervisor once and she asked me to formally complain to the actual manager so he would give the employees more hours! What the?! Customers should not be affected by employees hours! Biggest online order nightmare of my life !! So I made an online order because I do not get around so we'll anyways so my packages come flip flops and what was supposed to be a necklace but the paper work said bracelet. One of my packages never arrived so I had to make a police report. Not to mention all the times I had to call Jc pennys and they had me go to the store 3 different times to return the necklace but again the paper said bracelet so big waste of time and did I mention 3 times I went to the store. Now I made my order on the 3rd and I still have not received my refund after all that. All I needed to do was return a blouse to my gift card. As I stood in line, a cashier very nicely said if there were any returns they were handled downstairs. I thanked her and proceeded down the escalator. Not realizing I would be greeted by the rudest person ever. Well not even acknowledged. She did say I can help you here. I approached the counter and explained I needed to return the blouse, as I handed her the receipt, (no response), and the blouse. I asked if she needed the gift card, (no response). Through my WHOLE TRANSACTION, she is looking at her watch. I think I deserved maybe 5 to 10 minutes of your time. Nothing like APPLE watches that you can ignore customers and read whatever is going on there. She did say to me to swipe the card. As I was looking at their ill-conceived collection, this morbidly obese Jota from Tijuana all dressed in black, looking like a large garbage bag full of cottage cheese, with his/her hair up in a bun, blocked me from getting close to the colognes told me that I couldn't get close to them. Like literally spread his/her arms so I couldn't get close. He said that i could point out the one i liked and he'd show it to me. And that it was because of Covid-19! I told him/her that my vision was impaired and that i couldn't see that far. Then he/she said that i just couldn't get close to the other employee because of Covid-19. I didn't feel like arguing with that queen so I asked for Chanel Cologne and was told that they don't carry it and that I needed to go to Macy's if that's the cologne I wanted. I replied, "Thank you very much" and walked out. Of course I went to Macy's right away and bought Chanel Platinum Egoiste! Btw, I destroyed the gift card. I walked in and wasn't acknowledged or greeted. I spent 20 minutes browsing and I waited to see if any one of their employees would offer assistance. None did. I approached one of them, who was busy putting on her own make-up, for assistance and they made ME feel like I was a bother. When I finally made a decision on a product without assistance, the girl at the cash register was too busy eating to converse with me while ringing my purchase up. This is the worst JC Penney I've ever been to. I walked in and was greeted with chaos. Random clothes everywhere. I felt like I was shopping at a garage sale. None of the sale signs matched any of the clothing on the rack. I'm not exaggerating when I say every dept looked like a bomb went off. There were two registers open with extremely long lines. I never saw one employee on the floor cleaning or organizing anything. It used to be a nice store, years ago. But I guess management just doesn't care. I have to say Sephora employees are always nice and helpful, so is the jewelry people. The other day I made a quick run to Sephora get my foundation, I got there around 8:35 pm there was no line in Sephora took me about 5 minutes while I grabbed a few things. When I was walking towards the door there was a lady already getting everything ready to lock the doors. So you will think "I made it on time let me walk out" no she said "I'm locking the doors you can use the other doors" I told her it's not even that close to 9?! She continued to close them(didn't say anything else). Made me go all around I walked out my husband was on the other side waiting for me he asked why did I walk out through that door. He said it's not even 850? I guess whoever that was, she was on a rush. No customer service no manners. read more

I've shopped JC Penny since I was a kid. I love the Koret line and several others. The style is just right for me. I'm not a kid who likes the inexpensive, flimsy, modern styles that the young ones like today. I like substantial, well made and well designed clothes. Pennys has both. It gives me the chance to shop for and buy nice clothes at a reasonable price. My husband also shops at Pennys. He really likes many of their mens products. read more

This is by FAR, the slowest, LONGEST lines I have EVER had to wait in for ANY JC Penny stores. The workers or manager that I spoke with opened up a couple more registers when I asked, so their response time was excellent. I don't blame to workers. They are just servants for a JC Penny organization which is barely surviving. Maybe if they worked harder on customer service issues & hired more staff, more people would shop here. The entire time I was in line, I was able to write this review. A few disgruntled customers behind me in line, just walked out. That means these customers will shop elsewhere. I decided to wait the 20 minutes in line, because I am traveling from the east coast & forgot to pack my underwear, so I had no choice, unless I want to walk around in dirty underwear for the week.
