My pregnant wife picked out a bag of items. She gave it to a store associate to hold and told them she would be back shortly. He took her name and said it would be held for today. We went back an hour later, waited in the extremely long line to get up to the front to find out her items were not held. When I asked to speak to the manager, Miguel, I found out he was in fact the one that took her items to hold. His only response to me was I'm sorry it's not here anymore it's really crazy today. What kind of store are you running over there Miguel? Not only were you the one to take and hold the items, but you allowed your employees to put away items that were on hold. Very disappointed with Jenni and Danielle. If this is BBW management's protocol that staff is implementing, you are hurting your business. Being a longtime customer and buying anytime of week and hoarding more stocks during mid-year and holiday sales, the kind of treatment today that my daughter and I received at Birch Rd, Otay Ranch Marketplace is unexpected. My daughter who grew up enjoying the products since elementary til now that she has her own money to spend went to the store. She has items to buy and I thought I will add some that I will give away too. We could have gone separate bill (which means she will have her own loot and another for me). But I offered to pay for her items. I stepped back after paying to look around again but the cashier already handed her the purchased items. So I went back to Staff Danielle and politely asked at first, "Can I have another paper bag"? I was so shocked with the very casual, disrespectful answer: "We don't give extra bag". I was in disbelief coz I was meaning to say we are 2 customers... they just put everything in 1 tiny bag and my daughter and I will separate them after leaving the mall. I really expressed: "it doesn't make sense when I am asking for a bag for the purchases we just made". Still with no sense of being cordial, Danielle repeated "we just don't give another bag". I went to Jenni who when we entered was loud to say: "if you need anything, let me know". This is a simple thing I need, and how come you cannot provide. Being a manger(if she is or a senior staff), I thought she would understand and she also said: "We run out of bags". I was totally shocked. I asked: "What would you give the next customer if someone will buy right now?" She just said we will put everything in 1 transaction. I'm not sure why this location has such low ratings, but I haven't had any issues here; this store is actually my favorite B&BW. It's located across from Barnes & Noble at the Otay Ranch mall. The store is a pretty good size with ample space to maneuver around people compared to the other B&BW locations in South Bay. The sales associates are always friendly and helpful. They consistently inform me of that day's sale/offer so I know what items will get me a better deal for my purchase. The shelves and displays are also always fully stocked. As previously mentioned, this store is my preferred B&BW. It's easy for me to get in and out with what I'm looking for, which is usually their 3-wick candles. I've also bought some of the aromatherapy lotions for myself and a couple body lotions/creams for others without any issues. Even with returns and customer service, I've never left feeling dissatisfied. To sum up, I'll continue to shop here as I have no issues with this store. read more

I love the scent of lemon and mint for my kitchen. And in my bathroom sink I love the cherry blossom honeysuckel but they don't have it, when I went there. Do not go to this store. Assistant manager Miguel completely ripped me off. I bought 4 room fresheners and the plugs to use in my home. They did not give off any scent. I have been a customer for years. He's telling me that since I don't have a receipt he will only give me 8 dollars for all 4 scents. That is crazy. I love coming to Bath & Body Works for the hand soaps! It was one soap for $3.00. Hubby had a coupon for buy $30 get $10 off. I bought 10 soaps for $20. Not bad. As we walk inside, a nice lady greets us Hi at the entrance. She was very informative and offered us help if we needed it. I didn't get her name but she was nice. Hubby picked most of the soaps. We got Sweet Pea, peach Bellini, lemon, and many others. All smell very nice. I love the lotions and sprays as well. This is the only place I buy my hand soaps. Store is fairly big and there's a sink where you can sample soaps to wash with. We will be back if we run out of soaps. read more

Was at this location this evening for last minute XMAS shopping. There was this one last thing we were looking for and politely asked if they have an extra in the back. One lady was helpful but the other lady was behind the counter making smart / sarcastic remarks. I should've said something but just ignored it. Didn't want to ruin the evening. The staff are pretty nice, my main negative review is for the misleading advertisements throughout the store (and yes I read the very small print typical of products on sale with a catch on the sign). My advice would be to be cautious about the pricing here. They had a big sign that advertised the aromatherapy products on a reduced price so it made it look like the whole table was on sale when it wasn't. Only about two products of the whole maybe ten different products being displayed were actually on sale. Why aren't only products on sale displayed on the table? Why mix it up and make it difficult for the consumer to have to figure out which product is on sale? Terrible marketing tactic. This is my favorite Bath & Bodyworks store and it's dog friendly! It's always clean and organized and everything is stocked. I hate going to other stores when a lot is already sold out and it's just too busy. I am obsessed with their candles! I went last night to pick up some candles and Crystal greeted us at the store. We had our dog with us and she welcomed her in. She was super helpful with showing me the new candle scents they have and I ended up buying three candles. The new relax candles are amazing!! 10$ candle sale TERRIBLE preparation! Got an email Indicating that three of my online candles got taken off my order and instead of replacing it with any Flavor they refunded that's unacceptable! I called customer service to complain and they act like they don't care because they're sold out and I said I waited in the line for two hours and on line for an hour and a half for the online order these candles are not worth 24.50 Like the girl was trying to indicate I said so what they're 24.50 they're not worth it that's why people go out for the sale and you guys didn't have enough to supply everybody and now you want to give a 20% coupon which is not enough for eliminating three candles off my order without replacing them. After having dinner at a nearby restaurant I stopped in here to pick up some shower gels. Lucky for me it was "buy 3 and get 3 free!!" It was about ten minutes to closing time. Came into the store a couple days ago and it wasn't busy at all. Upon entering I had a worker briefly look at me and look away and instead started using her phone. Shortly after I came in another set of women came in, she happily greeted them, let them know about specials and told them if they needed help w anything she would be there. I thought this was just one worker's behavior, however after as I was browsing around and having to look for products myself none of the other workers acknowledged me or said anything. Again, they kept interacting w the other customers. Truly disappointed by the staff especially because of their actions towards the only Black woman in the store. The worst experience I have ever had at Bath& Body Works! It's Christmas why are there two Grinches working here. The attitude these two women have would ruin Santa's day! I went to buy some gifts for teachers on this beautiful day 12/14/17 during my lunchtime at 1:30 so it's not too busy. The older one asked if I needed help. I replied I didn't know what I should buy. I thought she would give me suggestions , instead she said " Then I can't help you". I thought, wow I wonder if corporate trained her. When I went to pay the younger one could not crack a smile. She began ringing my items and told me there was a limit on by 3 get 3 even though the sign doesn't say there is a limit. Then I showed her my coupon for $10 off. I asked for gif bags and she said a lady took all of the gift bags in the morning. It wasn't what she said it was the way she said it . Usually the salespeople are nice, but not these two. This location is great. It is always organized and clean. And the employees are always very sweet here. I love coming here to get good use of the Bath & Body Works coupons that I get in the mail and also when they have their semi-annual sales. There's honestly a scent for everyone here! I personally love their candles, wallflowers, lotions, and body washes. They also have stuff for men so you can just direct your boyfriend or husband to that little section (or they can just go to Barnes & Nobles right across). I went there on MONDAY AFTERNOON on 1/6/20 at around 2 PM. There were two women staff there. I'm not sure about the shorter staff but I WAS REALLY UNPLEASANT ABOUT THE TALLER STAFF WITH LONG BLOND HAIR!!! I'm not sure if she is an owner or just a staff. I just wanted to see what a body lotion smells like but there was no tester there so I just asked her to let me smell it. And she didn't say anything and just open a drawer very hard and took a tester and let me try it with a very annoying attitude. She was really rude. I will never and ever visit this store again! I normally rate this store 5 star, been coming here for 6 years, but this time it's just a crazy day. Apparently there's a new lady at the cash register so she didn't use the right coupon! So I have to go back to the store, 2 ladies have helped me, neither one of them are apologetic. The other lady who's fixing the mistake on the receipt are asking me questions like interrogating me, like trying to embarrass me and of course it's a crazy day so there's a lot people. I went to this store for the candle sale, mind you I'm a frequent customer at bath and body works. Apparently there was a 20% coupon going out to bath and body works members. Now if the coupon was for everyone or not was not clarified however there was a lady in front of me in line and she asked the cashier about it and the cashier said "you should have gotten it in your email" the lady responded that she didn't know why she didn't get one so the cashier told her that she could go ahead and give it to her. How nice right... so I go up to the counter, mind you I'm hearing this entire transaction go down making eye contact with everyone. Then it was my turn to pay and I said the same thing that I did not receive the coupon either and I have been a long time rewards member and the cashier goes "I'm sorry" and continues to ring up my stuff applying no promotion then casually telling my total. Let's take out the fact that the lady in front of me was white and I'm black but how bad does that look to all customers. Like oh I'm going to give it to you but not to you. Bath and body works can do much better than that, I'm going to have to find a new location with some better customer service. read more

This is the first time I've had a bad experience. I feel compelled to write a review since I'm not able to complete a survey. I was there on Sunday, 12/10, and received very poor service by the cashier who helped me. I had three coupons I wanted to use and I think she was annoyed. Afterwards I said thank you for helping me and she said,"mm hmm." I was surprised by the sarcastic tone and wished her a good day and she literally was silent. I wasn't even being rude and was thoroughly disappointed by her attitude. I didn't catch her name but she had long dark hair, young, and her cashier number is 1916581. I hope they read this review. I spoke with another associate, a young man, who said he'd speak with the manager, but just in case he didn't I wanted to get this off my chest. I shop there all the time and online too. I felt very disvalued. I hope they get better customer service and hire people who really understand how important it is to treat them better. I'm in the service industry myself and I can not imagine that I would ever treat a customer like that. I felt like returning all my purchases, but I really needed them for the holidays, but I feel after this visit, I'll just shop online. Well the guy that helped me out questioned me pretty much from the time I walked in to the time I walked out- I looked around to see if I could exchange it for anything but they were out of a lot because of the semi- annual sale which makes sense.
