Came in for a return and was directed to the houseware section. There were two people ahead and thankfully the attendant called for backup. Once at the front process was smooth and painless. Browsed the clearance section for petites and found several goodies. Various clearance sections throughout the store. Enjoyed the pajamas options for the whole family. Curtains were so pretty and so many options. Walked most of the store just to see and it's a big Penny's. Lots of options. Checkout process also easy as there was no one else in line. read more

I absolutely love JCP because of the amazing deals they have on a regular basis. I don't think I've ever walked out of a JCP not having purchased something. I like that they carry a ton of basics that you can wear everyday, such as denim jackets, jeans, cotton tees, tanks and zip hoodies. They also fashion forward items which is cool to see and going to work at the office apparel and special occasion dresses. Today I was able to snag some great buys that were on the summer clearance rack but with no extra discounts at the register. I still think these items were a good deal without an extra discount because I can still wear them into the autumn season. Check out the 2 photos of these great pieces at just $14 bucks a piece-- not bad considering at the mall just one of these tops will be about $50. So yes, it's a bargain if you ask me and if your looking for cheap finds for fall I highly recommend getting into a JCP before labor day! It's 2 thumbs way up for JCP in Colorado Springs! read more

I'll be honest, I had no idea JCP was even still around. It's easily been more than a decade since I've stepped foot and one, and it wasn't my first choice to go here. In lieu of holiday gifts, my husband and I took his MIL shopping for clothes. If you've been shopping with a woman, you know it can really be a hassle. This was expected to be one of several stops to get her an assortment of new tops and bottoms but we found so many options here that it ended up being our only stop. The store is fairly well organized with a large clearance section. I don't think we encountered any staff until we checked out. In some ways it was nice to be able to browse without being bothered but some guidance may have been helpful considering we were looking for extra small sizes. Cashier was friendly, most items were on sale, and even though most items will need to be tailored or hemmed, we got a large amount of clothing for a reasonable price. I'm sure we'll be back seasonally to grab her more items as needed. read more

What can I say beside JC Penny had all the sales today. They were packed but social distancing. Everyone wore mask and hand sanitizer was provided. The deals had everyone coming out. We found some really cool outfits for the kids to get ready for summer. They are excited about learning to ride bikes, ballet/tap, tball and roller skating. The joys of a kid... The staff was courteous, prompt and very helpful. The store was well stocked, neat and well decorated. All your needs were accessible and not cluttered. We will be back. read more

I ordered a suit online. Drove 3 hrs to pick it up. When i was told the pants wasn't available. I asked for refund for whole suit. They made it so difficult to refund and return. Manager was not even trying to better or help out. She was just cold and not interested in helping. So i went to mens department, and the same uninterested response. I was left hanging with half a suit, when i paid a full price for suit. VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE.... Will not be going back! read more

We had a terrible experience in the photo studio. Every step of the process was extremely slow and delayed - the photographer struggled with her equipment, didn't know how to use the computer, and was not a good communicator. By the time we finished, the family that had an appointment after us had waiting over an hour and a half! Our photos turned out fine, I guess, but they are not what we were hoping for. The photographer needs serious re-training or needs to find a different position. read more

Cold with no personality is how I would describe this store. Never seems to be anyone to help on the floor and the cashiers/return desk and not very helpful. Also if you are relying on your phone to bring up a receipt do it in the parking lot. The store has no cell service or Wi-fi. read more

Prices for the clothing are cheap . A lot of sales on clothing up to 90% off on clothing. Paid $2 for some sweater tops. Which is great To shop for winter clothing during the summer because you'll be guaranteed to find a great and low prices here at JC Penney. Friendly staffing. read more

Came in to buy a 14kt gold necklace from the fine jewelry department and waited and waited. Finally a salesperson said she would be with me in a few minutes. Again I waited. Lots of people wandering around fixing and making the store look great, but no sales staff willing to help me. I'm thinking that if I was of a different gender in the jewelry department I might have gotten better service. That's okay.... JC Penny you just lost an approximate $1000.00 sale. This review does not concern this JCP store, but corporate itself. The ad on tv where you can save 20/40% off, nowhere does it say that you have to come in the morning to get a coupon. It's very misleading and your customers deserve better than these games you are playing. No wonder JCP is having a hard time financially, treat your customers right. WORST SHOPPING EXPERIENCE EVER! I have been wrongly accused of theft by the manager of this store--Shaun--because I returned some clothes I didn't like or need, which evidently "feels" suspicious to him. The clincher is that he "knows" I am guilty because I stuttered on the phone while dealing with these false charges. Not only does he accuse me of a crime, he has the insensitivity to make fun of my stutter! He feels that I am guilty until proven innocent, and expects me to somehow prove my innocence. In the meantime, JC Penney has STOLEN over $100 from a gift card, and I am afraid I will have to take them to small claims court to get MY MONEY back. HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. Store hours are posted wrong! On maps they say open at 9:00am, by phone they say 10:00am. So, when I tried to open the door at 10:05am, locked! The cleaning lady standing just inside, ignored my questioning?! No one answering the phone. I find it aggravating at the least. So? What are your store hours? We just used the photography department. Photo shoots were over-scheduled and did not allow for needed extra time. Shooting three generations, we knew that we would need two sessions. We actually had three separate households, so we should have been able to book two back-to-back sessions in order to accommodate the differing assortment of "cast." Our session started late. We had to take a break for a diaper change, I'm sure this is common with infants and perhaps even seniors. We excused ourselves so they could do another shoot and they called us back in after that shoot to complete our sitting. An uncooperative three year old in our party caused further delay. Meanwhile later appointments were stacking up. Photographer was not great at distracting children although she tried. The store in general didn't seem to have a great layout. It was difficult to find our way out because there was no clear path to the front doors. I know that this trick is used by many stores so that impulse buying is encouraged, but this was ridiculous. I don't usually shop JCPenney, but here I was on vacation and Black Friday shopping. I think a lot of their things are overpriced, but because of Black Friday, I was able to find some bed sheets at a good price. The lines are always long too and the cashier area is a bit tight and cramped. read more

I was looking for something in the jewelry department and I stood at the counter to ask a salesperson about something. I know they saw me, but ignored me. I waited about a minute and one lady went around the counter away from me, and then proceeds to mess around with her personal earrings in the mirror while I stood there. I said something to her to see if she could help me find something they might sell there, but why should I need to do that - she knew I was standing there. I found an item elsewhere in the store to purchase, went to checkout and the line was insane. It was going through the main isle of the store. I went back over to the jewelry counter and found another person, her name was Lupita. She was able to ring up my item because my friend was purchasing some jewelry. It saved me about 20 minutes of time doing this. She had a very nice personality and was more than willing to help. Otherwise, I probably would have put my item back and left. They need to hire more people, or have multiple check outs throughout the store. I don't usually shop JC Penney and now I know why. read more

its a new store, in a new area and I enjoy the cleanliness. I went in looking for a shirt for my husband and I didn't think the departments were clearly signed. I walked around until I found clothes that were clearly in the men's department. I walked up to a register in the back side of the store hoping to check out, however NO ONE was in sight and I didn't see any sign to tell me that the register was closed. finally I walked up to the front of the store, and waited in a long line to be checked out. it was a busy day. why not have someone operating the back registers? read more

JCP used to be a decent chain store but has kept on going downhill. I usually go to the Citadel location but since I was up north, thought I'd check this location out. I've never walked into a store with colder store associates. The majority of them aren't very friendly and if you ever do need help, it's hard to flag someone down. My favorite part of the store, is the mini Sephora store and every now and then, they have samples of cologne or eyeshadow, no purchase necessary. Even the Sephora associates in here are friendlier! I worked at AAFES at one point and this store reminds me of my old workplace. Huge corporate store with miserable employees running it. The store is very clean and organized but I'll be staying away from it unless I need something from the mini Sephora inside. read more

After going to 5 other stores in town, 2 of which are the most prominent stores for men's suits, we ended up at JCPenney where we not only found exactly what we were looking for, but at less than half of what we could have paid elsewhere. John, in the men's department, was phenomenally helpful checking sizes, inventory and ordering availability. In the end we walked out with a complete outfit to attend a wedding and all due to John's attentiveness and knowledge of his product. Great guy! read more

Ahhh so refreshing to see the bait and switch did not die with Sears. Bought a Amazon local deal for a portrait package. Ha portrait package my @ss it only included the sitting fee and one picture for $50. Had the whole fam there for holiday shots so I had to swallow thier bs and ended up speniding $130 more for 24 cards and the CD rights to the other poses. NVER again!!! When I picked up the cards they gave me a coupon for $50 off next time. Riiiiiiiight I'll be back. Just go to a private photographer probably less in the end and better (read honest) deal. read more

This store is ridiculous! There seems to be no one ever available when I've called. I end up having to be on hold forever. Or I call Citadel to have them call this JC Penny and check my order status, and ordering online is another story. When I have gotten through they claim they can't find my order, until I insist they have found it before, then magically they find it. I was told that my order was there. So when I went to pick it up, oops, it's not there and of course they don't know what happened. 5 days later my order still isn't there. Today I finally got someone in the Salon to try and find someone after calling and calling with no success. After being on hold for several minutes I'm told they are too busy to talk and will need my name and number to call me back. I'm not holding my breath. Paying a little more elsewhere next time to avoid these headaches. They have lost a customer that would have given them a lot of business. read more

The prices seem to have gone up and its not as easy to find clothes that actually fit the size they claim they are. We went to the JC Penny Studio. We had a great experience from start to finish. Challenging as it seems, even our 2 year old responded very well and shoots were fantastic. We ended up getting a few custom ordered prints along with some sheets at $3.99. Overall, a great experience. We have another appointment for March. Our Photographer, Shawn, was great and funny. Went here to get pictures taken and wish we hadn't. There were 6 women at the portrait counter. They were standing around gossiping and seemed to be bad mouthing customers from earlier. I am not positive but pretty sure because the one associate pulled out some photos to show who she was talking about. The prices were higher than we expected as well. I'm not good at all with shopping. And I had a very elegant party to attend. When I showed up at jcpennys a young lady (kimber) with her hands full of clothes. Asked if there was anything I needed help with. I told her my situation and she told me "it's my favorite part of the job" so she put down the clothes and took me to the dresses. Help me find a few and I went to try them on. She stayed in the fitting room to help me zip and let me know what fit best. She even went to get me different sizes. The dress we found was a casual dress but she told me that all I needed was some jewelry and shoes. She took me to the jewelry dept and shoes. She was so fantastic. She told me about the survey but I lost the receipt and couldn't do it. I hope this gets back to her managers. read more

My mom got me a $25 groupon so I could get 1 year old pictures of my daughter. This included the sitting fee, an 8x10, and two 5x7s. So really only 2 pictures. The photographer looked like she had just rolled out of bed. She was just very unprofessional. She was turning the camera every time she clicked like at a modeling photo shoot. She made it feel very rushed. So we picked the best ones and also bought a disc, for $80! There are maybe 10 pictures on it! Ridiculous. So I went and picked up my 2 pictures, the 8x10 PORTRAIT we ordered was landscape. It looked okay on the computer, but since they printed it landscape, the top of her head is cut off. My mom called and said we wanted it reprinted in portrait. They said they can't since it was taken in landscape. What professional photographer takes a landscape portrait? We asked that and they said it's artistic. So my child's head cut off is artistic. They refuse to do anything about it. I could even hear the woman's attitude about it on the phone. My mom told her we will never be using them again. I would suggest you don't either!! read more
