There were 4 people online and 2 different employees assisted us with different questions. They were courteous and helpful. There were sales in every department. The clearance section was neat and organized. They don't carry luxury but midrange brands. My mom didn't find what she was looking for, but it was a pleasant shopping experience. read more

Worst experience, especially on Christmas Eve. I arrived at 10:20 a.m. for a 10:15 a.m. appointment with three children and was told that the usual grace period was not being honored due to the holidays. This policy change was never communicated to me beforehand. To make matters worse, an employee, Kenny Perales, made inappropriate and rude remarks, stating, "You're on time for exams and medical appointments, it's the same." This comment was unnecessary, dismissive, and unprofessional. Another staff member, Kim, claimed she called that morning to notify me that the grace period would not be honored, which is untrue(and even if the case too late while parents are getting kids ready). It was very clear the office was running behind and began sending families home instead of taking accountability. This was horrible customer service and extremely disappointing, especially during the holidays. I would not recommend this location. read more

We don't often shop at JC Penney's, as it's not that close to where we live. However, someone told my wife that they often have good deals on shoes. Not one to miss a bargain, she went shopping and I was tagging along. The store was clean and well organized, about what I expected, and it didn't take too long for her to find a few items. When she asked if anything was on a special sale, the young man at the counter said only if you had a Penney's account, which we did not. He then said to look a the bottom of their web page, and lo and behold, there was a code to get 15% off. That's what I call good customer relations! read more

Wow, i had quite the experience. I had business at the coral square mall and stopped into jcpenney. I had an old gift card in my wallet that i wanted to get rid of. I walked to the sephora which had nothing in it because the sephora stores are pulling out of Pennys. I wandered to the kitchen area to look around. I found this rack of gadgets, bowls and utensils that had purple clearance stickers and i brought quite a bit up to the cashier upstairs at the pickup desk to purchase. Mind you, this rack was situated right in front of said cashier. The items that were mostly marked $1.99 were ringing up $100 and other high prices. i showed the cashier who kept ignoring the stickers that the items had clearance tags. She said she would have to call a MOD so i said please. This woman came who started peeling the stickers off of the items right in front of me. So i had a silk pillowcase that had several markdowns and had a final sticker under $10. The manager started peeling the stickers off! She wouldnt speak to me or explain what she was doing. I decided to record because i felt inwas owed am explanation. I asked why she was doing this and she sat in silence. I finished my transaction and rhen sought a manager higher ranking. This wonderfully kind newer manager was named Anne. Uou know, she was so kind and we came to an agreed upon price and i purchased the items from Anne for more than i had intended. Anne is an asset to the store. The other MOD waa unprofessional and made me feel like a criminal. Will i be back? Maybe. Anne said to always ask for her. read more

I received an email from JCP yesterday. I could have ordered this specific pair of shorts and gotten an additional discount and had it shipped to the store for free. But I chose to go in and when I went to pay, the cashier ignored the several promo codes I had. She didn't say they were online-only (well, thick accent... not sure what she said)... but she made reference to them being expired even though I told her the specific date for each was 3/29. So although the shorts were on sale from $40 to $27.99, you offered me a lesser price through email/online and I wind up paying more in person... no wonder brick & mortar stores are phasing out. I offered my JCP credit card in the hopes there was some discount tied to it as the cashiers have done in the past, but there wasn't and I used Amex. I see no reason to go in person any more. We made an appointment for the portrait department for 11:30am on a Sunday, however they tell us to show up at 11:15. So we show up with our 3 young kids (harder to do than you think) at 11:05. We are waiting and waiting. Then it's 12:15 and still not out turn. This is some of the most mismanaged setup I've ever seen in my life. I will never go back again. I come here about once a month. My visit two days ago was the same as always. There are no employees to be found, even to check out!! I waited several minutes along with two other customers in front of me. Their selection of kids clothes has gone downhill. They did not have the sizes I was looking for. The quality of clothes is not as good as it used to be. They do have a nice selection of Godiva and Ghiradelli chocolates which is necessary after dealing with this store. This store is chaotic at best. Not only is the store messy and unorganized, the employees are a nightmare. I didn't know that they had a Christmas in July event going on but something clicked when I heard the third Christmas song & that is when I had my magical moment of clarity. I continued to shop despite the very annoying music. I love a good sale and they had some great deals. I attempted to purchase several items, easy right? Unfortunately every register was down. What kind of management just sits back & does not think to make an announcement to their customers? Obviously the kind of people (we are all human) that do not respect their customers time. It was unprofessional to withhold this information. That's not the Christmas spirit!!! All of the employees I had dealt with (4) were obnoxious. All four were snappy, unwilling to help, creepy and mean. One associate had so much makeup on, I thought she confused Christmas in July with Halloween in July. JCPenney had a Labor Day sale on jewelry. You could purchase preLabor Day prices but pickup after Labor Day. I went today to get the item I purchased. The clerk could not find it, then did not have the code to the secured vault. It took a manager 25minutes to respond to the clerks constant pleas. Both managers took break at the same time. When the manager Amerika showed up she explained she was on break. Unapologetic and could not care less. Apparently Manger Ann was supposed to be on the floor, but she left me the customer to stand there for over 30 minutes to retrieve an item I paid for and could not receive. I chose the wrong day to come to the mall. The day before mothers day isn't the best day to shop when not buying for mom. Regardless of that, I have been to this JC Penny many times and it doesn't get much better that what it was today. The store tends to be messy and unorganized, it is always understaffed. I have not really seen people on the floor helping customers, I know they must be there, but I just never find anyone on the floor to help me. Just the cashiers and even that seems to be an understaffed position. The lines get very long and there is only one cashier, sometimes another one shows up to help with the line, but not always. Today for example, the lines were more that 20 people long (yes you read that right, 20) and there was only two cashiers per register area. And they had no sense of urgency and were taking their time ringing people up. I had to leave without my selections, they were taking way too long and I didn't have all day. Today was not a good day to judge, but I am basing this review in all my visits in recent months. They really need to hire more people, and ti train them well, cashiers can be rude on top of being slow. Also their wi-fi is awful. You literally have to go outside to get on their website for coupons. I will avoid coming here for the foreseeable future. read more

Nicholas in photography is excellent! He does extremely amazing work, he has his ways with children and knows how to capture the best moments. As for the staff, I don't recommend. Regardless of what you want or already prepaid their primary interest is to up sell you and force something else upon you. Even though you stand strong on what you want or don't want, they're annoyed if you don't hear them out on another "promotion". So money hungry. I felt so much pressure from multiple "members of their team" to buy more and more. The communication amongst coworkers don't exist and the eye rolling is beyond unprofessional! read more

This store is in my neighborhood so I wish I could be happier with them. I have been on the hunt for window treatments and Penney's has some sheers I happen to like. Unfortunately, they do not keep much in the way of inventory. I suppose they must think of staff as inventory as there are not many of them to be found either. I decided to search (which took a while) to ask if there could be anything in back. When I finally found someone, as expected, I was told this is all we have. Ok, can we check other stores. Yes, this is easier said than done as I feel they do not provide training on their terminals and searching appears to be a challenge. Of course, this seemed to be the user as I wanted to jump in and "push the buttons". lol We found Aventura had inventory. Can we call and put them on hold for me to pick-up later on? No, I can't call but here is the number. You can take care of it. Very poor! Customer service will make or break a business... sadly, I don't see long-term survival for JCP. read more

My 3 year old daughter and I went to the JCPenney Portrait Studio last night for a photo shoot from a Groupon I got. It was very easy to make the appointment online. The photographer, Amaris, was wonderful! She was very calm, focused and professional. I was a little nervous about how my toddler would react, but she did great, thanks to Amaris. This JC Penney is located in the Coral Square Mall. I'm already a fan of JC Penney. If I am not buying online, I'm buying at this location. It's very close to my house, so it's convenient, it's well stocked, if I order online I can normally pick it up here on the same day or within 48 hours. The only bathroom I know of in this store is located on the second floor, near the photo studio and kids department. The bathroom is always, 100% of the time absolutely disgusting. I mean, unbearable. I won't let my kids use it and most of the time, I will walk in and walk out because it smells so bad and each stall has an unpleasant surprise. I've seen blood everywhere, feces, food wrappers and drinks thrown on the ground in here and I've never seen a cleaning person and let me tell you, during the summer, there are times when I have been here for a full day, stocking up on clothes for four kids for back to school. The bathroom was never touched. Other than that, the store itself is relatively clean. The changing rooms can get pretty destroyed and the mirrors are dirty a lot of the time, but just hurry up and try on the clothes and touch nothing. That's what I tell my kids. I'll continue to come here for the deals and because it's the only one near my home, but I prefer to shop online when my kids aren't going through growth spurts. Also, the staff has always been very friendly and helpful, so that's something I know I can count on when I come here and it also keeps me coming back. I've seen many of the same faces here and I've been coming here for 2+ years. I think big companies like this don't realize how nice it is for the consumer to be able to deal with the same person and know they have someone they can count on. Portrait Studio: I would not be coming here to take any type of family pictures. Today(8/16/2019) I came to pick up my pictures, no one was at the front desk. I heard pictures being taken and when I asked if anyone could help me, the photographer said I'm here by myself. She was rude, no apologies...now I have to come tomorrow for the pictures. The day we took the photos they were severely under staffed, 2 hours to see the pics. They forgot to include my black and white pictures request and at this point, why bother to ask. I go back and forth with Penney's...I grew up with my mom shopping there so there's a certain amount of loyalty. But every time I go to this particular store, the wait to check out is so long I end up pretty pissed off by the time I get out the door. Was there shopping for school clothes a couple of weeks ago and Penney's had apparently put a $10 off coupon in the newspaper or something that people were able to use more than once. So what happened is that everyone in line in front of me was using the coupon for EVERY INDIVIDUAL ITEM and the clerk let them do it. So it went like this- scan shirt, scan coupon, run customer's credit card, sign the receipt pad, print receipt. Scan next shirt, scan coupon, run customer's credit card, sign the receipt pad, print receipt. OVER AND OVER AND OVER. For each item. It took me almost an hour to check out. On the way out to the parking lot I said to my daughter, "Every time I come here I say 'I'm never shopping at Penney's again!'" I showed the stylist what I wanted and she did not deliver. Here a few reasons why JCPenney is losing patrons so fast, a few days before Christmas I went on a shopping spree to buy gifts ( in this case , clothing for women ), big mistake, I bought the gifts , mainly blouses and sweaters for females friends and family members, after Christmas was over , three of the women had issues with the size of the gifts and asked me if they could change them for smaller sizes, I read the receipt and also called the JCPenney store where I bought the gifts and they assure me there would be no problem exchanging the gifts, I relayed the information to the persons and yesterday I receive the bad news that the store did not want to return the gifts because they needed an actual receipt, to one of the persons they asked for an ID, she only had with her at that moment, her US passport, she showed to the lady and this person a JCPenney had the audacity to tell her that she needed a state of Florida issue ID, they requested a manager who never showed and left them waiting for more than 20 minutes and the excuse was " we are pretty busy at the moment could you comeback later in the afternoon or tomorrow. Well, this my new after Christmas resolution: I will return every one of the gifts will call corporate and also send this info to consumers affairs so they can start an investigation, and also make JCPENNEY famous by posting this issue in social media so they can take charge and make their employees aware of their own return policies . Cashiers are difficult to come by in this store it seems. I know that JCPenney is not Saks, I get it, however they could do better with customer service at this store. I stood on line for what seemed like an eternity as the cashier very robotically rang the long line up ahead of me. I ordered a pair of shoes online for a wedding from Jcpenney.com and the shoes were delivered today from the Coral Springs location and the shoes are visibly worn with the souls of the shoes black and the heels worn. I called Jcpenney Customer Service and was told they could ship me out a new pair of shoes but they can't guarantee that I will receive it in time for the Wedding. They said the only way to guarantee that I get the shoes by the Wedding is for me to go the Jcpenney in Broward Mall and get the shoes there. I shopped at this store when the mall first opened and even when I moved to fort Lauderdale I come to this mall because I liked it better than the JCP at the Pompano mall but it has been years since I even thought of shopping at JCP so I was sadly surprised when I walked into the mall and JCP. Clerks wouldn't even look at me! I stupidly made an appointment at the salon (I was in a rush for highlights which look great but 4 hours for partial highlights is WAY to long) and I had time to kill I ended up on the 2nd floor and the eyeglass section was about to close which was fine I was only curious but the clerk was right there and never engaged me, mentioned any specials they were running or suggested I return when there was more time to browse. There were no clerks on the floor so no need to look for help and the registers at 5:00 on Friday were long and no one looked happy. There is a reason I shop online and that night's experience reminded me of why I do. I ordered custom window treatments for my new home earlier this year and spent appx $7k total, working with the JCP Custom Decorating team in Coral Springs FL. Appx one month after install, the rolling mechanism on one shade broke so I worked with JCP Coral Springs to get it repaired. After two months of waiting in limbo for the repair, they told me that the shade with the broken mechanism was "lost" on its way to repair & the color selection I had was no longer being manufactured. Which means in one bedroom, which has a total of 4 panels, the only replacement selection I can make will not match the 3 existing shades. They sent a decorator out to find suitable replacements and even she admitted that the only way to resolve was to replace all four blinds in that room. A difficult and frustrating situation to begin with - but what was even WORSE was what took place afterwards, with their "customer service" rep (Teresa), who called me as a follow up to the home decorator visit. Truly one of the worst experiences in my life! At first she was confused about the order, and then started accusing me of lying about the room with the problem shade! Which is beyond crazy as she contacted ME, supposedly to provide an update - shouldn't she have KNOWN which room it was before she made the call???!!! After talking over me and constantly interrupting me as I attempted to help her understand what was going on, she hung up on me. Seriously, you can't make this stuff up. Customer service? My advice to JCP leadership is to keep her in a back room counting inventory - or better yet, send to her anger management class. Luckily the Jensen store contacted me for follow up and will be taking care of the issue, so I no longer have to deal with the unprofessional "Teresa" at the Coral Springs location. The Coral Springs store should follow Jensen's example of customer service. It was night and day different - professional, courteous and organized. Shame on you JCP Coral Springs...I hope to NEVER deal with that group again. read more
