Professional set up and very very helpful customer service. They ensure you are well taken care of and directed to the right areas. They make sure and ask if you would like additional help and information. I think this is one of the best staff I have encountered at the mall. I've been to this location quite frequently for the last several weeks. All of the staff I have interacted with have herb extremely helpful and friendly. I even had occasion to speak with one of the managers and a regional director. I could tell that these people had the same drive for fair prices and customer service that Mr. Penney had when he opened his first Golden Rule store. read more

The employees at this location are incompetent, rude, lazy, and lack some SERIOUS customer service skills. I placed an online order over 20 DAYS AGO (7/29/17). My order shipped out about 2 days after it was placed but yet no one seems to know where my order is. They keep making excuses about a truck delivery showing up but "they don't have time to go through the truck...". I'm sorry...don't have time to go through the truck shipment?? WTF are you guys doing??? I don't understand. I showed up at the store yesterday to try to ask where my order was and couldn't get a straight answer. I was told to just call next time to check on my order. So I called today...called a total of 5 times... 3 out of those times the "lovely competent" ladies at the jcp.com online pickup desk picked up the phone, continued their conversation with each other and then hung up on me all while sounding super annoyed that someone would DARE call them while they were mid-conversation with each other. The other times, the phone will just ring and ring for 15 minutes or more before I get the old pick up and hang up routine. I finally got fed up and called the Salon which is right next to the jcp.com online desk. I told the woman on the phone that I wanted to speak to a manager. All she did was take my name and tell me she would have someone call me back...45 minutes later and still no call back. I'm pretty sure my name and number got tossed right in the garbage. I'm going to go ahead and give corporate offices a call now to let them know how this location likes to treat it's customers. UPDATE: Two hours later I managed to get ahold of a manger who confirmed how horrible JCPenney really is. She informed me that they not only marked my order as shipped when it IN FACT was not. She told me that what I ordered actually isn't even in stock and the warehouse can't seem to find what I ordered from any other stores so they're not sure what to do at this point. That being said, the reason they marked the item as shipped (when they didn't even have the product) was to be able to charge my JCPenney credit card. So now I'm being charged interest for product I DONT EVEN HAVE because they're greedy and wanted their money. All I can say is that these are some SHADY PRACTICES and I'll be shutting down my JCPenney card and won't be shopping there anymore. Unbelievable!!!!!! UPDATE 2 (9/7/17): The Arrowhead location STILL refuses to help me. The package is 100% lost. No chance of recovery. Arrowhead keeps telling me they'll refund my money. They haven't, nor will they call me back after I call them. I finally went over to the Paradise Valley location who did a manual override refund for me. I took my elderly mother, who is confined to a wheelchair, to Penney's at Arrowhead to get her some new bras. Jaqueline in the intimate wear department was an absolute angel, spent an hour measuring my mom and bringing her different bras until we finally found the Goldilocks bra, it was just right! She even found me an online coupon to use for $10 discount. This is really great customer service and I appreciated how kind and careful she was with my mom. read more

I love shopping at this JCP rather than the smaller one near my home at Paradise Valley Mall. On my last visit I got such good end of the season deals! Sometimes it's hit or miss but the cashiers are always really friendly and I usually find what I'm looking for at a good price. I especially like the JCP workout clothes! read more

This review is on the portrait studio only though I am a fan of this particular JCPenney store. It had been YEARS since we've done a professional family portrait for Christmas so with Groupon offering such an amazing deal, I couldn't pass it up. The studio waiting area is fairly roomy considering the amount of people packed in bright and early on Black Saturday. The employees were all friendly and cheerful. We were taken right on time for our photos. Our photographer was EXCELLENT. She asked great questions about what we were looking for in background, poses, and "theme". She had a way with the kids and got the baby to smile every single time. Our pictures looked great. The young man helping me select our portraits for our package was helpful, patient, and gave great suggestions without being pushy. He didn't try to get me to buy more than I was comfortable with and he was very patient while I picked out our photos. Our photos were ready about a week later and pick up was easy and pain-free. The only reason this isn't a 5 star review is because this studio is EXPENSIVE. Had I not had a Groupon, our bill would have easily been over $400 on portraits and still wouldn't have gotten the photo CD as that was even pricier. Even with the Groupon I still spent $160 on my own. All in all this was an excellent experience and I will definitely consider JCPenney Portrait Studio again in the future, but I admit that I might balk a little simply because of the price. read more

They would intentionally not send you a bill and then charge you a phenomenal amount if a payment was missed. The customer service rep actually swore at me and made threats. We just got our bill and it had a interest payment of 150.00 on it, When I called customer service they said the item in question was bought on a promotion.No one ever told us this in the Jewelry Area. After straightening the account.The service rep said there is a 10.00 fee to talk to a live person.THAT'S A RIPOFF as those who are handicapped or elderly need live folks to talk to.The computer can be a foreign situation to some of the population. I've never seen so much excrement in a public bathroom before. Most of the bathroom stalls are broken and do not close, and it is clear this place never gets a cleaning. I need a shower after using this restroom out of desperation. The disgusted looks on everyone's faces is kind of funny. But seriously Penney's- clean your nasty bathrooms. The Optical Center is a complete joke. These ladies don't even try to act professional. The woman had no idea how to use her computer and seemed to find it endearing every time she shouted for help from another associate across the store. They were rude when I returned my eyeglasses, and even though I received a full refund for my purchase and did not receive an eye exam, they had no idea how it would work with insurance (because knowledge of how vision insurance works is too much for these people who, you know, work in the optical center...), and I was billed to my insurance for the frames I returned within 24 hours. read more

If I could give negative stars I would! This is my very first review and I only write it because my experience was truly that bad....I am only speaking about the portrait studio. We made an appointment to have my daughter's pictures taken with my son and nephews I told the lady the exact pose I wanted and she must have been in a hurry because she snapped 8 pictures as quickly as she could and didn't even care if the kids had their eyes closed. I just had my 3rd experience of them having NO IDEA where my item is but I can reorder if I want. Heck No!! All 3 times they "lost" my item and couldn't get it to me. So we came here to exchange a gift that was given to my wife for Christmas that didn't fit. After walking in and seeing the long lines downstairs, we decided to go upstairs to a "customer service/sales associate". The gentleman that we were dealing with kept trying to get us to go downstairs to another associate and it took quite a bit of attitude to push him to the point to do his job. Pretty annoying actually. Just try to help us to the best of your ability...and, if we have to wait because you need to call a supervisor to assist us, we'd be glad to. Bought a shirt at register 110 in the sport clothes section of the store. The inbred clerk failed to remove a ink tag of the shirt. This was discovered after returning home later in the day. We called them and they could have cared less about their error. "A curt bring it back for removal" was the only option given. No apology offered. How hard is it to work retail and do your job? Perhaps the if the clerk had been a trained monkey we would have had a better outcome........... Lesson learned: Check the hired fools work before leaving the counter read more

No one seemed to be around to help me out when I was finding shoes. The cashier did not help when I asked to speak with a representative. Also, not to mention the fact that the elevator was broken and the whole store seemed to be under construction. It looked very messy and when I asked how I can get out if the elevator is broken, the young man gave me and attitude and raised his voice to me. DO NOT ORDER APPLIANCES (or anything else for that matter) FROM THIS CORRUPT ORGANIZATION. I ordered a refrigerator from JC Penney (online) and they delivered one with a dent. Then they replaced it with one that did not cool. Now I am being told that they will not replace or return it because I am outside the 48 hour timeframe. Although, I contacted them within 48 hours of each delivery. Clearly, they charge you for new products and then send out damaged/broken merchandise and just have someone come out and repair it. Very unhappy. Photo sales women were very rude and pushy. I had an appointment and showed up and hour early, checked in. One of the sales women insisted on seeing my outfits and told me I was not aloud to have 4 outfit changes. That's fine I was okay with that until she went behind the desk telling the photographer that in no shape or form I would have 4 outfit changes. After seeing her say that I was then bothered by the attitude I was getting even though I was more than happy to pay for 4 outfits. Photographer was nice. Unhappy she included only my boyfriends had in our infants photo and acknowledging only him. Our pictures came out bad and some images I received were of absolutely nothing ( a picture zoomed in of my baby's t shirt ) point is this experience was rushed and disappointing. If your looking to do pro photos for babies steer far away from this place. The quality of photos were something I could have set up at home. I've had a Penny's card for over 20 years, I stopped going there because after their last management change the store seems to have gone down hill drastically, the shelves are messy, the store looks cluttered and my biggest complaint is the prices. I used to go in at any time and get tennis shoes etc..on sale, today I went in looking for 1 pair of tennis shoes, every shoe in the men's department was marked 65.00 on up, the sale was buy one get one for 50% off, I did not want to spend 100.00 on shoes and had to put some other stuff back because they refused to honor the 40% off coupon I had because the shoes were already on sale. I ended up paying 100.00 for 1 pair of shoes and some overpriced pajamas. This is not the way you make up for lost revenue get rid of this management team before they run what's left of these stores into the ground. read more

2 weeks ago I went to the salon to have my hair died a purple color. I had my hair done by Sammy T and she was very kind and fun and personable. I explained I wanted it purple in honor of my mother who died just this September 14th suddenly and I was still very very emotional over. I also informed her that I have had some bad experiences lately in salons. She understood my anxiety about doing what I was doing. Sammy was comforting. The process was quoted for 2-2.5 hours. I was there for 4. The hair color did not fully grasp so she had to do it again and I appreciated that she saw an error and was willing to correct it. I left very happy. The issue I have is that after 1 week and following her instructions on proper washing, my hair turned copper on top within a week. Also, I had my nails done French tip and now my nails are pink. I have tried cleaning my nails now for 2 weeks with zero luck. I don't want pink nails. Also, for the last two weeks I have to put my hair up STILL because it's still turning my ears, neck and shoulders pink!! From the MANY people observing this at my company and my family, they have advised that this is not normal and shouldn't be occurring. It ruined my bedding, nails, bath tub ( now pink and scrubbed 5 times), and I can't even do my hair and leave it down because it's all over my skin! I will NEVER do this again. My family and I called and the manager was out for a week ( with no one to cover?) so I couldn't speak to her. Over all, Sammy is nice but this is experienced solidified why I don't do anything nice for myself, or try to keep myself from being depressed. read more

Their portrait studio is pure TRASH. My family comes every few months and they recycle through photographers so much, there's never the same person there as the last time. But each one still uses the same techniques for "posing" so each time we go, it's literally the same poses different outfits. We're lucky if we find even one picture at the end to order. I was a little nervous, as I hadn't found a hairdresser in my area yet. Felicia was AMAZING. She listened to everything I said and helped me to get exactly what I wanted. I attempted to exchange sizes of a shirt, I had no intention of returning it and they refused to do it because I did not have the receipt or the card that was used to pay for it.
