These people are unprofessional. I booked a perm appointment 2 weeks ago with Concepcion and they cancelled my appointment without telling me and they moved me to another salonist. When I came in, they said I don't have Concepcion and I have someone else when my email confirmation said I have her. They are shady for doing that. read more

I had the best experience. I recently moved to New Mexico, I have been worried about where to cut my hair, or where to go. Yesterday I was shopping at JCPenney store and I thought of visiting the Beauty salon since I was there. This big smile wonderful young man comes walking out to greet me, he's name is Ray, Ray posses the best customer service skills and I must mention, he cut my hair like big pro. I am shocked at some of these reviews, but get it with my initial experience there. I had a lady named Diane Martinez. Wow. She was such a gossiper and most of the time she was running around talking to other employees about drama there. There was a new receptionist and she was making fun of her and calling her stupid. I thought "why don't you teach her?" I went there without an appointment and got a lady who has the last name of Kuhn. A sweet older lady. She was great. I tried to get her for highlights but she was booked so they gave me an appointment with Ariel Trujillo. Wow! She is AMAZING. My hair has never looked so good. She gave me her card and personal info and I can actually text her and she fits me in. She really knows her stuff and my hair has never looked so good. She even occasionally checks in and usually does the other day. I'm a nurse, not a hair stylist. I don't know about chemicals. She always talks me through what she is doing and how it helps my hair. It comes out soft, I don't lose hair anymore and I think it looks fab. Go Ariel! I highly recommend her or Ms. Kuhn at JC Penny at Coronado. read more

The person cutting my hair was nice and only missed a few spots. She thought I had been growing my hair for a couple of years but it was only shoulder length. While she was cutting with the clippers she hurt my neck and I told her she cut me. She said she didn't see anything and that it all looked good. But I definitely have a painful cut at the back of my neck. read more

We had a fantastic experience with Ashley Robles at this salon! My stepdaughter wanted to add some color to her hair & get an A-line cut. Not only did Ashley listen to what we wanted, she gave really helpful suggestions that helped create a beautiful final look and a very happy 11 year old! You might think a salon in the mall isn't for you but as soon as we walked in, we were greeted like old friends and treated with respect & kindness. You forget you're even in a mall after awhile! The vibe of this salon is super friendly and chill. Just a warning about price- the cost for a haircut and 4 foils is pretty good ($14 for a Kids cut, $20 for 4 foils) and doesn't break the budget, but I did forget that having them style the hair was an extra cost so it was a little more than I was expecting but that was my fault for not checking before I said yes! It was worth it though bc that beachy wave looked so cute in her hair & we left as very happy customers. We highly recommend Ashley! read more

I love getting my hair done at JCPENNEY. Everytime I go the staff is always so helpful and pleasant. I am always greeted with a smile and I immediately feel comfortable. My hair stylist is Ariel Trujillo and she has always done a fabulous job with my hair. She really listens to what I want done and does exactly that. I've never had a bad experience here. Horrible Experience!! NO RATING DESERVED... Unprofessional from the very beginning. DISCRIMINATION AND RACISM. First Master Stylist Barbara (White) asked inappropriate questions, than she made an excuse about the price, she gave 3 excuses why she cant do a cut and highlights. She said Angie (White) will do a great job, Angie came and did a consulting and said yes, give her half hour. 45 mins later a Male master stylist (Native American)came. I went to ask why all the changes and several excuses were given. The Male did a wonderful job. Talked to the store manager and I hope she was true to her word to go talk to every single stylist in this salon because they all saw what was happening and they did nothing! They all stood by the cash register as we told the manager the horrible experience. Justin the receptionist looked scared to say or do anything. This was the worst "professional" hair experience I have ever had. I went to Gina. She did a single color over my entire head. A very simple process. She managed to dye half my forehead and cheek. She left the dye on my face long enough for me to have a tint even after scrubbing. She didnt evenly coat my hair so I have thick streaks of blond, brown, and dark red. She was extremely rough with my hair and I am no where near tender headed, but getting my hair tugged and pulled out for over an hour was more than enough for me. I paid $93.00 for a finish product that looks like a five year old did it. Her attitude was great but her skills were incredibly low. On top of the horrible job she did with my hair she asked me how much I was going to tip her and was EXTREMELY pushy when it came to trying to get me to purchase more services an products. I am incredibly unsatisfied and will never return AND will warn all friends and family lot to go there. Worst service I have EVER had! DO NOT GO THERE or at least not to Gina!! read more

I had the most traumatic experience at this salon...the girl that normally cuts my hair works at a different salon but could not do my hair and I had important meeting so I went to JCPENNEY'S at Coronado not super cuts..a lady named carlene was my stylist or claimed to be one. .I asked for retouch ended up with half my hair in clumps on the floor and my color looked like a calico cat that had seriously been neglected...after under the dryer for 25 min then reapplying more bleach when i stopped her saying never has any stylist done this to my hair she tried to say my fault for having dark roots anther technician kept trying to tell me my hair looked good and toner will even my hair out. NO it didn't!! Carlene then got a comb and proceeded to want to style my hair and as clumps of my hair fell to the floor I had to tell her not to put a comb to my hair she not once say an apology just looked at me like what's wrong . And then they had the audacity to feel like I still needed to pay $150 apparently the hair cut was clumps that piled on the floor as Carlene put a comb thru my severely damaged hair . ...i demanded they call the manager...the owner of the store, Brenda wanted me to return so they could fix (like hell I would let anyone from there touch my hair ever again) Brenda didn't even call me til next day at 2 leaving me message "just calling to see how it's going" and when I returned the call was told she gone for next 2 days..I did leave message letting her know my hair is still falling out...let it be known I'm still losing clumps of hair haven't been able to even comb my hair and saturating my hair in every conditioning treatment I can get my hands on... praying not to be bald. For all looking for a stylist beware if your going to this salon..I've never been so traumatized! read more
