Hours are wrong. They open at 11am now still citing Covid for their hours. Staff was rude.

I was very tired and had some returns to take care of. I had returns that were not all on the same receipt so I was ready for it to take awhile. I was greeted at the service counter by Allison with a smile and I could tell she was genuine when she asked "how can I help you". As I started taking the items out of my bag, I told her I'm sorry this might be confusing, she smiled and assured me she can take care of it. She was so kind and calm and then when she took care of everything she asked "is there anything else I can help you with today?" You could tell she wasn't just programmed to say this she was genuinely asking! She's a keeper, I wish she was here more often when I shop in the store. read more

There were some highs and lows on my first visit to JC Penny since (like April G) my mom used to drag me here to buy Arizona Jeans before the first day of school. I don't really review department stores or big chains like this very often, but I do think there were some unexpected things about this place that I thought might be worth mentioning. The highs: -There's an entire freaking Sephora store inside this store. When did that happen?! -It's split up into brands like a nicer department store would be. I was shocked to see a whole MANGO/MNG section right up front. It's a Spanish brand (like Zara) that I really like, if for no other reason than it reminds me of window shopping on Passeig de Gràcia in Barcelona (which I realize is really obnoxious of me to say, but it's the truth). They also have a Joe's jeans section if you like designer denim. The lows: -Ghost town empty. I don't even know if I saw an employee except two of them talking to each other in the Sephora shop-within-a-shop. Neither of them acknowledged me while I was poking around. In comparison to a normal Sephora where the service is usually excellent, I thought that was pretty out of the ordinary. -The underwear section had very few available sizes for the nicer things. The merchandise wasn't organized nor stocked very well in other parts of the store either. -The music is different as you move from brand to brand... JCPenney - Department Stores Near Me - Woodbury, Minnesota

This has become my go-to store when I am short on time and really need something to wear for either a job interview or a wedding or special event. I typically can find something that will work. They have a nice variety in the Big and Tall section for men. They have a nice selection of shoes for men too. The housewares department often has quality items when it comes to sheet and towels and small appliances. They also have petites and a Sephora inside. read more

The prices have been amazing with lots of sales recently, but the store itself has to provide a good experience or I shop online. This JCP had the biggest women's selection of any department store I have been in. This was expanded since my last visit. I had the choice of plus size exercise clothing that actually fit well and were modern styles, not baggy styles nor older prints. With the big sale today prices were great. However, it was difficult to find anything. The sizes of the clothing on the hangers didn't match the size listed on the hanger. Everything was a mess. Staff did stop to ask if I needed help, friendly and cheerful! As I waited in line, extra registers were opened with only two other people behind me. Very happy with the staff, selection and prices but the items needed sorting and reorganizing to go from good to great. read more

Okay, I seriously have hope for JC Penney in the world of menswear (did I really just say that?). Their company was taken over by some Target executives, who left, and their new creative director is a #menswear god, Nick Wooster (Google him...). Some blogs I like had posted about how great their in-house "jcp" oxford shirts are for $25, so I thought it would be worth a trip to check out. Despite this being one of their selling points, they had none of their "jcp" line in this store, unfortunately. Just lots of Dockers and Arrow and things I probably would choose not to wear even when I turn 50. So, boo. Luckily, their online operations are a lot better (and they offer free returns in store, as well as free shipping). I scored a sick seersucker blazer that I actually saw in the store for $75 (which was priced at $100 in store) as well as some of the oxfords. Have yet to see the quality, but it's nice to know that I can return them if I don't like them. The blazer will need some tailoring but for $75? Steal. The store itself is a little janky and separated into "shops within shops" now. Things are messy and hard to find and it really does not make for a good shopping experience. If I do return my business here, it will definitely be online. read more

Horrible jewelry. Lost Diamond from band I received at Christmas within 30 days. Lost Diamond from tennis bracelet in 60 days, ruby and Diamond earrings the back lever broke in less than a week. The matching supposed white gold ring irritated my skin so bad I needed a steroid cream. (not allergic to gold but am allergic to nickel) Engagement ring sent to be re sized... takes 4 weeks??? Thus robbing me of part of the fun of being newly engaged clerk response when I saidthat's a long time ",well it said that on the reciept" No it said 2 weeks. It is not worth your $ to shop there. No wonder it's a dying store. If I could have given zero stars I would. Nothing much ever makes me angry but this is completely unacceptable. read more

DO NOT BUY JEWELRY FROM THEIR FINE JEWELRY SECTION! I went in to buy my boyfriend a chain for our anniversary, it looked very pretty when I bought it. I spend $237 on this chain. this included the repair plan ($50). 20 minutes after I gave it to him, he was literally just changing his shirt and it broke. sent it in to be repaired and when I got it back I asked to return it. they said I couldn't do that because it has been fixed once already. So, my boyfriend put it on for the second time and within 20 minutes it broke again. at this point I'm frustrated that jewelry that is priced at this level is breaking so easily. We went into return it because obviously this chain is not good quality. They could see our frustration and they wont take broken jewelry back, so they sent it to the repair company for a buy back. It came back, so we went into the store to get our money back. The repair company did not send the buy back slip, so we can't get our money back this time and it has to be sent to the repair company AGAIN so we could get the buy back slip. We were told it was going to be express shipping, and it has now been over a month and still haven't received a phone call about this chain. I bought this chain at the beginning of July and it is not the middle of October and I still don't have my money back. This is the absolute worst expertise I have ever had with a company ever. Please just do yourself a favor and take your business elseware. read more

Bought blinds here, Savana was very efficient and professional in fixing a problem with our order. She was very friendly and helpful. We were impressed how the staff worked as a team, willing to help each other when needed. read more

I wouldn't even give this place 1 star if I could post without it. My mother went in for a haircut and spent $50 on a haircut with Linda to come out with one side of her hair way shorter than the other. Stylists were rude when she went back saying "you need to come back when it's not so busy" and blaming the shorter hair on her asking her if she cut it herself. Now she is forced to cut off even more hair because the stylist was not listening to her wants. Words cannot explain how upset she is and no one in our family will be returning to this salon. read more

I went to the Salon and got my hair blown out by a woman (Sarah, I believe, but I could be wrong about her name) and she charged me for the blow-out plus iron works, which came out to be about $50, saying that a blowout couldn't be done on my hair. Not only did she not tell me it would be extra, but I have gotten multiple blowouts from Ulta and they have no problem doing it, so I don't see why she did. I should not have been charged for something extra when it was her lack of skill that I was paying for. Definitely not going back there if they're just trying to get as much money as possible without consulting me first. read more

I purchased 8 custom blinds 4 years ago with a lifetime warranty. Two of the blinds no longer work. The lifetime warranty clearly states to go back to the store you purchased them from for warranty coverage. JCPenney's however refuses to do anything about it for us. The Store Manager was adimat that they only sell the blinds. They will not assist in any way with warranties. That is terrible customer service for expensive blinds!! read more

I grew up with my mom dragging me through Penneys for seemingly days on end and forcing me to wear saddle oxford shoes purchased at said Penneys, so let me start by saying I think JCP kind of blows. Even with my low expectations, this location is still impressive in it's suck factor. I'd been here in the past a couple of times looking for stuff my mom wanted, but today stopped in looking for shorts for my tween. She doesn't want those slutty short-shorts and I thought JCP might have some more conservative options. Well, they do, but only in giant sizes! Apparently thin people aren't allowed to be modest! Anyhow, that's not even why this place sucks. They NEVER have enough cashiers so you always stand in a queue FOR-EH-VER. Then you finally get up there (after some old hag cuts in front of you and refuses to wait her turn, and the cashier knows what happened and doesn't apologize, just helps the hag. If I had known it was a free-for-all going in I'd've clotheslined the beast when she sidled up) and the cashier is all "sign up for our bullsh*t credit card, blah blah blah". I like Ellen a lot, but I'd rather take an entire daycare to Pier 1 than experience this store again! read more

I just tried calling to see if the drapes I ordered had come in. The drapery department is in with the furniture departments phone line I guess, because someone in furniture finally answered the phone, then went to find someone in drapery. That never happened. After the phone rolled back to the operator, she must not have hear me saying I wanted someone in the drapery department and she hung up on me! I'm NOT impressed! Now I'll have to drive all the way over there just to see if my order is even there yet! read more

I guess I'm a sucker for the struggling store. So I went about 1 year ago to buy stuff for my husbands birthday. They had some very nice clothing and he was pleased. And the prices--sale price or not-- are really quite reasonable. If not in some cases really good. I think they have a lot better women's clothing than Kohl's. And Sephora....wow. Really nice to not have to go to MOA for one store. They don't have lots of clerks milling about and asking if anyone has helped me. I like that. Even Macy's at Southdale doesn't have many clerks to help you. All these stores have cut back. I frequent a number of stores in the TC. Penney's is a nice close by place for some things with good prices...and I will continue to go there. read more
