Different Cheesesteak #1197. Thursday night is wing night. Most seats at the bar were taken. A big bright place with lots of games. Lively crowd. I made some new cheesesteak friends. I learned that Chili is big in Cincinnati. 2nd most popular way to eat it is over spaghetti. I got a cheesesteak. It came with french fries and pickle slices. Nice crispy pickle slices. Cheesesteak spent a few minutes in the oven. To quote someone from FB, I go to Mcgillicuddy's all of the time and never thought to get the cheesesteak. Let's take this advice.

Yelp lead us to McGillicuddy's while traveling. It is a very unassuming building on the corner of a neighborhood street. Plenty of parking. Side door marked with JD to get in. The inside is clean and dimly lite but not too dark to where you can't see. You seat yourself and a friendly staff member will came to take your order. Food came hot and fresh to the table and even though it's typical bar fare they do have unique daily specials. If we're ever back in the area we'll definitely stop in.

I wanted to reach out and give a special thank you to our super nice late night bar tender last night 8/20/2024. Two guys with a canceled flight close to closing needing a good cheesesteak & cold beer. Met a school teacher/bar tender with great service and great smile that was welling to help. Great pub vibe with a fun snapshot making something wrong right. Thanks for being there! Jeff L.

A local favorite. The chicken cutlet hoagie is to die for!!! Great atmosphere and friendly service. The wings are great too! Love to stop here when we are in town

Enjoyed McGilli'cutlets - Italiano (took 1/2 back to hotel) and their soup of the day, broccoli cheddar. The soup was excellent, and the sandwich was very tasty. The roll was a little dense in comparison to the yummy cutlet and roasted red peppers-cheese topping, but good. I also had a bottle of beer and my bill was only about $21. Really reasonable for good food and large servings. The bartender was nice and provided decent service. * The highlight was enjoying the local crowd, and fellow Eagles fans, having a blast watching the "Cowgirls" get spanked by Green Bay. ;)

This place is UNDERRATED! Cold beer, fast whiskey, and damn good cheesesteaks. Our bartender was fast and accurate on every drink and food order, as an out-of-towner, this place is my ideal pub. Tables are all COVID smart and distances, virtual and physical menus available, must order food to drink, fresh wipe down of seats and table once we picked a spot, out tender was Nicole and she rocked, treated us like regulars. 10/10 would recommend!

Pretty nice cheesesteak here at Jd McGillicuddy's Tinicum, as well as the chicken cutlet Italiano (sautéed spinach, roasted red peppers, provolone cheese). I couldn't decide, so I got both. The cheesesteak was American cheese and sautéed onions, that were reduced in Guinness beer -- I was told. I questioned it immediately, because I tasted more of a stewed, French onion soup flavor. The more I ate it, the more I enjoyed it. Bob Marakovits, this cheesesteak has your name all over it. The cutlet is made in house, and scratched the cutlet itch brought on by Vincent Paul this morning. Both rolls were good, I preferred the seeded roll if I had to choose. Overall a great experience here. Our bartender, Nicole provided us great warm service, as if we were regulars. This is a neighborhood joint, so I was an unfamiliar face. Met some great locals and had some classic bar room conversations. I highly recommend it here. /5 The food came out quick and they have some of the coldest draft beer I've had in a long time! Really cold beer! They also have Sea Isle Ice Tea on tap, Craig Rudzenski. #rushieeats

Since there were no available tables outside, we were placed inside in a corner table with no air circulation. The humidity felt unbearable and really played a major impact on my experience. I'm sure if I came during a mid spring day I would've had a better experience. Food: the food is the only reason I would come here again. I got a crab cake that was very robust with a fair amount of filler but had a good amount of real crabmeat. My son got the quesadilla, and it wasn't anything special. The salmon was small and flavorful. Service: also was not anything special or bad. Our waitress came by twice during our stay. It was a busy afternoon and she was working. It would've been good if they had more staff so that someone could refill our water more frequently. Like I said, the humidity had taken away from our experience. Overall, I wouldn't come here throughout the hot, humid summer months, but I may give it a second try in the winter or spring... maybe.

Our drinks were empty for most of the meal, and we had to ask another server just to find her. One of our drinks was made wrong, and when we finally got her attention, she seemed annoyed she needed to come to our table and actually walked away while we were still talking, which felt really dismissive. What makes it more frustrating is that there's an automatic 18% gratuity even for small tables. I ended up having to tipping $22 total, and for only seeing her a handful of times, it definitely didn't feel deserved. To top it off, when I mentioned to the head bartender (who was acting as the manager) that I wouldn't be coming back, he pulled $40 cash out of his own wallet and offered it to me to "give them another chance." It honestly made me feel so uncomfortable and was not an appropriate way to handle the situation. The food was fine, but the service and overall experience were not. For the prices and the built-in tip, I expected much better. I will not be returning.

I suppose a restaurant almost has a disadvantage when one has heard endlessly about how fantastic…read moreit is, thus setting one's expectations quite high when making one's reservation. A friend and I came by for a quiet supper to catch up and hopefully have an enjoyable dining experience. To start off, the Caesar salad and focaccia were indeed quite tasty. After being talked into trying the tasting menu, I was disheartened upon taking my first bite of the chicken Parmigiana and accompanying pasta. Both seemed as if they had been sitting for a while and then were unevenly reheated. The pasta, in particular, was lackluster and worse than anything I might have hurriedly boiled at eleven at night upon arriving home after a long trip and finding only packaged pasta and canned tomato sauce in the cupboard. But I could have lived with all of this had it not been for the service. Clearly my friend and I were the afterthought of all afterthoughts to our disinterested waitress. After hounding us to order before we had properly reviewed the menu, she promptly put us on the pay-no-mind list, as dirty dish after dirty dish accumulated at the table from the tasting menu she had so strongly urged me to try. I also abhor cheapness on the part of restaurants. Would it have killed Rosemary to offer us a second piece of focaccia, given that there were two of us and the portion was a better fit for just one? Lest anyone accuse me of having expected the waitstaff to read my mind, I indeed asked. It's not like we weren't spending a pretty penny there. The business could have well afforded to allow each of us a reasonable portion of its much-touted starter. After we finally managed to flag down our waitress amid the plethora of dirty dishes still sporting some of the mediocre food, I paid in cash on account of the restaurant informing me on the bill that a surcharge would be applied to a credit card transaction. Another joy! When the waitress took the note, she said, "Thank you," and that was that. I decided against calling after her to request change since it was one of those borderline instances where the note was close enough to twenty percent that it is a bit awkward to request someone return with change. So she walked off with a 26% or so tip after having left us on the dining equivalent of "read" the entire night. And then there's the issue of price: While not outrageous, everything is 15-20% more expensive than it should be, and after one pauses to think about it, the tasting menu offers barely any deal at all. If one orders the chicken like I did, it is no cheaper than ordering the starter, entrée, and dessert à la carte. If Rosemary had also offered, say, a soup, then it would be a deal. But clearly generosity is not in its owner's purview. The tiramisu, I will say, was excellent, and my friend and I enjoyed every morsel, and for that reason, along with the Caesar salad, I can muster three stars. Had I not walked through the door having heard so many people rave about Rosemary, perhaps I would have found it to be a restaurant with a pleasant ambiance, a good appetizer, and fine dessert despite a thoroughly middling entrée. But a Delco gem it is not.

Fortunately, I was served a different dish after I demonstrated I couldn't cut into the short rib with the knife I was given. As for the rest of the experience, the service was nice if a little difficult to grab, it's quite noisy inside, and the drinks were meh. There are too many other good restaurants to come back here.

This was a really great spot. My coworker and I were over in North Jersey for work but flew in and out of PHL rather than facing Newark. In order to beat the crazy construction traffic outside of Philly and to have a buffer for whatever TSA nightmare we were going to face, we got back near the airport early... like 4 1/2 hours before our flight kind of early. I wanted breakfast outside of the airport so I found this spot while he was refilling the rental car. I got the French toast with homefries. The french toast was perfect, with just a tiny bit of crisp in spot from the griddle. Same with the homefries. I would have liked a bit more seasoning while they were cooking, but a bit of salt and pepper and I was good to go. My coworker got the big breakfast but subbed out the homefries for corned beef hash. While I'm not a fan of corned beef hash, it looked exactly like how my mom and grandfather like it, with a little bit of crisp to it. The pancake was huge and he said his over medium eggs were cooked exactly like he hoped they would be.
