We're experiencing all kinds of issues and they've been patient and thoughtful in their education and advice on each issue we've had. They're not just out to sell us thousands of dollars of stuff. It can be really daunting to take over a pool from someone else. You can only guess how carefully or neglecting they were, even if you get a top notch pool inspection beforehand. We contacted Dot's Pool Service to remove algae, clean our pool, balance the water, and get it…read moreready for the summer season. Unfortunately, our experience did not meet our expectations. The technician was at our home for less than 30 minutes. He vacuumed the pool briefly, treated the water, and then informed us that his pool vacuum had stopped working. When he left, the water actually appeared greener than it had before he started. There was no effort to remain and monitor the treatment or ensure the pool was improving. When we asked whether the pool would clear up, we never received a direct answer. Afterward, we communicated through Yelp regarding the pool's progress. We were repeatedly told that we had a phosphate issue and should have the water tested. However, we hired them a professional specifically to diagnose and treat the pool, so we expected water testing and guidance to be part of the service we paid for. The technician also stated that he would return to vacuum the pool again if we were not satisfied. That follow-up was necessary because the leaves and debris on the bottom of the pool were never completely removed during the initial visit due to his equipment failure. He communicated he would be there sometime the upcoming week no definitive day and time. (Red Flag) Unfortunately, he never contacted us again to schedule that return visit, nor did he follow up to check on the pool's condition. In the end, we purchased our own chemicals and successfully eliminated the algae ourselves. We then hired another pool company to finish the job. They scrubbed the pool walls, vacuumed the entire pool, tested and balanced the water, provided us with a detailed water test report, and left us with a crystal-clear blue pool before leaving our property. They also gave us instructions for maintaining the pool ourselves or using their services in the future. That level of service is what we expected when we hired Dot's Pool Service. Our disappointment was not just with the results, but also with the lack of follow-up, communication, and accountability. We genuinely wanted to support a small business and had high hopes, but our experience was very different. Clear communication, reliability, and standing behind your work are essential in any business. Based on our experience, we cannot recommend Dot's Pool Service and would encourage others to consider other options.

We can't tell if we were scammed or if this was just due to incompetence, but either way it was a terrible experience and we want to warn others. We ordered a pool from D and L in April and specifically requested the backfillable Aquasports pool because are yard has a steep slope and the pool was to be partially buried. We paid the price that we expected for the quality pool we were purchasing, as confirmed with other retailers. The pool was manufactured and then sent right to the installer, who installed the pool at the end of May. After looking into backfilling the pool, we discovered that we had received a much lower quality pool than what we ordered. We went to D and L and were told that we had the correct pool and the price was correct. After arguing back and forth, we called Aquasports who said that the price we paid was high for that low end model and specified a different pool store to contact, who we then called and confirmed pricing with. After more back and forth, the person working at D and L acknowledged that they ordered us the wrong pool and refunded us the difference in the pool costs, with the understanding that we cannot use the lower quality pool and we still wanted the right pool. He said he would let the owner, Jerry, know what the situation was and work something out. After not hearing anything for a week, we tried calling several days in a row and finally got a hold of Jerry, who claimed he had not been told about this situation. After a long phone call, Jerry said he would look into it. After another week of not hearing anything and not being able to get Jerry on the phone, we went to the store. Jerry was in and denied having spoken to us over the phone the previous week. Said he would make some phone calls that day and figure something out. After following up over the phone the next day, Jerry had said he had not heard anything back and after a little more back and forth Jerry hung up on us. Followed up a few days later and spoke to the original person who sold us the pool, they said they were waiting to hear back from the installer and Aquasports and they would get back to us. Haven't heard anything in over a week, and we're still stuck with this pool that doesn't meet our needs.
