JD deserves all the business of those around and the tourists. The fact that the man is hand making everything actually is the type of cooking encouraged and appreciated. Me and my wife went in not knowing what to expect. Upon walking in to the place I noticed it's a small place very warm and welcoming. Not knowing what to try JD gave his recommendation and the one thing that surprised me was I never get asked at restaurants is do you have any food allergies and he asked. We ordered the chips and queso which was amazing you could tell that the chips were also made from scratch and we enjoyed it a lot. Next my wife ordered the Mexi-Pi as she likes Mexican pizza however this was nothing like Mexican pizza it may have the concept but the taste texture and everything at JDs VegMex is for more superior and very comforting the fact that the potatoes were not cooked with oil made the pi much lighter and very well balanced. I ordered the Crunchwrap No Screams and I loved it the quinoa was cooked to perfection you could taste all ingredients in there and it was very well balanced. If I am ever back in Florida I will be returning to JDs VegMex for the Crunchwrap and something new to try. I can honestly say this was one of the most satisfying meals I have had. JD's is a very good option for a vegan, vegetarian or carnivore that wants to try something new. The crunchwrap is their signature plate. This can be prepared with a few fillings including quinoa and jackfruit. I chose jackfruit and enjoyed it. Pairing it with the cilantro jalapeno sauce is my choice, spicy but not overwhelming. Service here was top notch. Honest advice, reasonable prices and rather quick turnaround. They have a good menu that is neither too large or two small. Would like to see better choice in the chips and would like to see homemade iced tea. Plenty of parking as they are located in a small strip mall just south of Coral Way and 137th Avenue. JD personally answers the phones, takes orders, and prepares the meals. This is true dedication as a small business. A-MA-ZING!! JD knocked it out of the park with each item on the menu (that we've tasted so far)! I'm so glad to have a delicious Mexican vegan spot in the suburbs, as we're sorely lacking in good vegan restaurants out here. We've been to JD's Veg Mex twice now, and each time the food and service have been fantastic. I love the wall art and decor, especially now during espooky season. So far, we've tried the chips and guac, taquitos, crunchwrap, and quesadilla (the last 3 with jackfruit). The food was delicious and very flavorful, especially the sauces! I still have a few items left to try, so there will definitely be future visits. To drink, there is water, soda, and beer, so something for everyone. Service is also great (a rare thing in Miami)! We were in Miami and have transitioned to a WFPB diet, no SOS. This is not an easy feat in Miami. Almost everything in this city is fried or has oil. We found this gem through an online search. Except for the mushroom selection, there is no oil in the food. All the sweet dishes are date based. The only issue is the salt and since I eat clean 99% of the time, I can take the hit while eating out and on travel. The food is delicious and filling. The dessert was amazing and also filling. The owner is really nice and engaging. I am a foodie and he took the time to answer all our questions. I love that I have this option when in town. read more

Fist time we try this place. We are not vegan but have been looking for places to eat healthier, and let me tell you, the food here tastes so good you don't even notice you are eating vegan. The quinoa is heaven, better than real ground beef. I sent with my 2 daughters, 16 and 7, and they both loved the food as well. The service is also amazing.
