I really like the inventory carried at this store, however, the buyer should try to be more size inclusive. I accept that I need a Large or Extra Large in clothing, but when I tried on items in both sizes, it was apparent that they fit more like Mediums. I left feeling like this store only caters to smaller sizes. When I asked if a pair of Liverpool jeans could be ordered in my size, I was given a card and told to order them myself online. I left feeling discouraged and disappointed. I will not be back. read more

If you're looking for something specific- Jeans and a Cute Top Shop is really hit or miss. It's strange - their prices are high, but the quality on a lot of their clothes seems quite poor (I bought a $75 Kensie sweater and the hood ripped at the seam less than a week later!) Also- a lot of their tops look very cheap .. Their jewelry selection is very small- and, like their clothing and accessories, over priced. Their staff has never gone out of their way to help me, ask how I'm doing, or even acknowledge my presence. For being a "local shop", I'd really expect a little more customer service. It's unfortunate that downtown Wheaton is lacking in cute boutiques - one would be much better off visiting downtown Glen Ellyn and and trying Enchantments or Alli Kat. I went in here because I had a $10 off coupon. While I am 30 years old and a teacher that dresses modest there wasn't a lot of things I liked in this store. When I checked the price tags I was shocked!! $59 for a short sleeve top and $85 for a cotton dress!! Wow, this place is WAY over priced. The staff was friendly and attentive, but when the staff member rang up my $10 pair of earrings I used my coupon for she gave me the dirtiest look and snubbed her nose. For all she knew I was coming back to buy something tomorrow or maybe I was recommending this place to all the women I know, not anymore at least. I would rather shop at Target or NY & Co and get way more for my money and not be snubbed! read more

A friend and I drove to Wheaton especially to check out this shop. I was not at all impressed. Their clothes were nice, but their prices were outrageous. The staff was not friendly- never said "hello" or asked if they could help us find anything. So we left and found a few other boutiques which had WAY cuter clothes and much better prices. I will definitely go back to Wheaton to shop, but I'll be hitting "Elements and Stars Boutique" and "Uptown Girl" instead. I am not sure if this shop is associated with the one in St. Charles, but I was so anxious to get a new store in St. Charles,my first experience was not a good one, very cute clothes but the staff never said a word to me, no greeting, no attention, nothing. I walked. I did not go back for a very long time and then the other day I went in there with my daughter, same thing. The staff has NO PERSONALITY. For being a local shop they need to be more personable. I had book club that night and mentioned it to my friends and they all had a similar experience and said they would rather go to Von Maur where the staff was friendly. Too bad this is a great town and St. Charles woman like to shop and look good. read more

I stopped in here with my new daughter after having lunch in Wheaton. We stopped in and both of us got very cute tops that are unique. You won't see them coming and going like things from chain stores. I love the personality of the woman in charge yesterday. Very friendly and helped my daughter to find something she would like. We both left feeling happy with our little brown shopping bags. I will certainly come back for more shopping when looking for a unique top. My top came from the window display so that is what caught my eye. I will need to spend more time in there when I come again. And for fall, I think I will need to bring both daughters in for a treat of another cute top. read more

I'm really surprised at some of the negative reviews here as this place is awesome. The store is packed with jeans (Miss Me, Silver, Mavi & more), fabulous tops, accessories and boots. They cater to women of varying sizes and their selection ranges from casual to classy to dressy. There is nothing you can't find that you wouldn't absolutely love--I walked out of there with a pair of Miss Me jeans, an animal print belt, gray tank top, chunky bracelet and shirt for under $200. Couldn't resist and went back for a gorgeous pair of boots and velvet gloves. The staff was attentive, courteous and made great suggestions. They were also not afraid to tell you a pair of jeans didn't fit quite right. After all they said, "If its not perfect, its not for you. We want you to look good and feel good about your purchase." If you're in the area, stop by and check this place out, you''ll be glad you did. P.S. Super tiny, and I was followed around non-stop. I don't like feeling like I'm buying a car when I am just browsing. The prices here are insane IMO. I was pressured into buying jeans I didn't even like, and when I read the receipt, they are returnable for "store credit only". Great, I just wasted $118.00 on a no-name pair of jeans when i could've gone to Nordstrom Rack and gotten better quality jeans (Sevens) for less! read more

I went in the shop in St. Charles today for the first time and had a great experience. Both of the women there were very helpful and they had a nice selection of things I had not seen before. I found great jeans that I had never heard of before that were super cute and less than half of what I usually pay for my other brands (Joe's, Paige). LOVE the free hemming as I always have to hem them. Nice touch. The selection of truly cute tops was a little less than I would have liked, but I'll be back. read more

Not a single of the staff members even greeted us, nor asked if we needed help. Small business needs to up their customer service skills if they want to keep people from shopping online. Jeans and a Cute Top Shop is a fun, exciting, and happy place to shop! The clothing in this wonderful little boutique is so "up-to-the-minute"! They carry a wide array of lines, sure to appeal to all shoppers. The Last Tango line they carry is such a "go to" piece for everyday, that transitions into evening. And with the colors and styles they carry, I always walk out with 2 or 3! Their jeans are fun: Silver, Miss Me, Kut, and so many more that always look great. Jill, Jennifer and the staff would NEVER let you walk out in a pair of jeans that weren't right for you. This store has the cutest clothes and jeans for much less than the designer pairs at Nordstrom. The owner Jill is so sweet and helpful. The store has fun things going on, they give you a mimosa and help you shop. I really like going in there. I always find cute items. I don't agree with the other yelper that said Uptown girl was a better experience. I went in there several times and could not find one item i would wear. The owner marks everything up way too high. I like the way my black JAG jeans fit and look, but I can not stand the black indigo dye smell. I washed them, and the smell persists. It is embarrassing to wear them as they smell up the area around me. I tried to return them to Jeans & a Cute Top Shop in Wheaton, but was told that I should have realized that the smell offended me before I bought them. They would not refund my money, give me a store credit, nor exchange them. Obviously they do not stand behind the products that they sell. read more

Upon entering, my mom and I were greeted... BUT while shopping and looking through the same rack another lady was we were all approached if we would like a glass of wine. At least I thought we were all approached. Since the one lady at the rack declined, the store worker took it at that and walked away. About ten minutes later, we were near another lady shopping and another store worker approached and asked her if she would like a fitting room to be started for her. Since she stated she already had one going, the store worker offered to take the top in her hand to her fitting room for her. What about us? My mom was also carrying things. We placed everything back on a rack and left immediately. Maybe it's because we were in "casual weekend wear" (jeans and a cute top, at that) and not dressed to go to the country club, but our money is just as green and should be treated as such. read more

The clerks working the store are very knowledgeable of everything in the store and are great help in finding the perfect item for you. I LOVE this shop! I can always find a cute top or pair of jeans. I got a pair of jeans a few weeks ago that I haven't seen anywhere else and I get compliments on them all the time (Vigoss Studio). They have items at all price points. You can get a top for under $50 and jeans for under $75. The staff has always been wonderfuln including letting me try things on that were not ready for the floor that I saw when I popped downstairs to use the washroom. Worth a visit! read more

I was in the Wheaton store last Saturday. I was visiting from out of town and was told about this great store. My husband and I walked in and were greeted right away. The sales person that helped me was very knowledgeable and professional. The sales person was very patient while I tried on many things. I ended up buying quiet a few things! I have walked in there and been the only one in there and totally ignored .... even standing at the counter as one girl straightens the shop waiting to purchase something... or I get unbelievable service! Wish it was more consistent.. Then I could give it a better rating. Love their Miss Me Jeans... and the tulle jackets... some other brands too. Just wish they were more consistent on service...
