I contacted Mr.Jeff a few weeks ago and he gave me tons of advice regarding some lights I wanted installed in my home. He was very professional, patient, and every time I called him he answered every question with no problem. He's very knowledgeable and is an expertise in his profession. When I finally received my lights that I ordered he installed them and explained every step that he was taking to install the lights. He even had a sheet that he put down so he wouldn't get debris and wood chippings everywhere. That really meant a lot to me and he's very passionate about his work! He's been in this profession since the 80's and his work speaks volume of how great he is! I do some of my own electrical work - I like wiring and I have a good handle on electrical principles and hazards, being trained in the navy and at commercial power plants. But I have a sketchy knowledge of code and I work fairly slow. So when I decided to replace the ancient fused main service panel and equally ancient fused sub-panel (aka 'the rat's nest') in my house, I knew that it wasn't a job for me. It would take me three weeks and a city code inspector would either have a heart attack or get giggly with glee over the violations that could be written (depending on the inspector's nature). So, I needed a real electrician. A licensed electrician. Jeff's estimate was quite reasonable in terms of cost and time, especially since the panels, particularly the rat's nest, presented some challenges with space and cabling. He said it would take two days and after two days, it was done. I have to do a little carpentry work around the sub-panel but that was known when the job started. High quality work and he uses robust components. As part of the deal, Jeff did a survey of the house for GFCI and smoke detector issues and let me know where I was deficient in terms of the current code. I appreciated that - I can address those issues now rather than have them pointed out later by a home inspector or city inspector when I might not have the time. I've added some before and after photos of the two panels. You can see what was involved. So, if you have an old house and need to upgrade, Jeff's your guy. Shout-out to his assistant, Frank, too. Within a couple hours he set an appointment with me to talk on the phone about the project. We went over details the next morning. That day, he sent a very detailed invoice. His price was better than I expected. We set a date. When he arrived, he was very professional. We went over the details of the installation, and he and his helper got right to work. I needed to add a 20-amp circuit breaker and wall outlet in my garage to accommodate a new 18-amp heavy-duty car dryer. I sent messages to several electricians on Yelp, describing the work and asking for a rough estimate and schedule. In the past, I have relied on Mister Sparky who gets the job done but at a premium price so was happy to have Jeff recommended. I had two outlets that weren't working - one outside and one inside. Jeff was flexible when setting up the appointment, kept in touch - confirming the appointment and letting me know he when he was on his way. He charges $75 for the first hour and $45 for each additional hour plus any materials. Based on Yelp reviews, I contacted Jeff to take care of changing out the light fixtures that my wife wanted replaced and was just as pleased as everyone else who has reviewed him. My emergency happened after a busy Sunday. Wall outlets were out. I had a washer full of freshly washed clothes, but couldn't start the dryer. Let me just say this, if I could give extra stars for Jeff Electric, I would! Jeff is a professional who really knows his craft. Jeff responded in a timely matter and provided exceptional quality in his work. My home was built in the mid 60's and is undergoing renovations. A previous "so-called" electrician did a botched job on my fixtures and wiring. Jeff worked for 2 days corrected the botched job and completed all the tasks I requested. Some of them were: wiring in the panel box, removed pull-string from a fixture and replaced it with a light switch on the wall, completed wiring for my newly added dishwasher that is not yet connected to the plumbing (I need a 5-star plumber), installed new light fixtures, replaced old light fixtures, added an outside electrical outlet and more! Jeff installed motion sensor LED flood lights at the four corners of my home. He was professional in the initial phone conversation. Was prompt for the initial appointment to estimate the work. Jeff did a great job for me. I originally called him to fix some issues in my basement. However, I kept finding things for him to do and he ended up having to stay much longer than I think he originally planned. I ask him to wire in an air compressor and during this he found a big problem in my main panel left over from the previous owner. He also fixed this.
