Unlike some trainers who seem to focus only on measuring body mass indexes or how many repetitions you can perform at increasingly higher weight amounts while ignoring everything else, Maksim focuses first on proper form and function. I had badly injured my left knee more than 10 years ago in a hockey game and knew that I was likely "cheating" for certain exercises, but pretty much ignored it. Women tend to have more problems with knees anyway - both due to our skeletal structures, but also because of the way we're taught to walk and sit. Maksim watches me like a hawk during my sessions and is helping me to unlearn decades of bad habits. Because of this, I feel confident that I will be an incredibly spry older person (when I get to that point) and be able to enjoy the active lifestyle that I'm anticipating. I've already seen significant benefits: during this past year, I've moved and helped to clean out another house for sale. In these circumstances, I anticipated that I'd be achy and that it would take days to recover after moving hundreds of pounds of boxes and awkward furniture. Not the case, because Maksim is helping me relearn how to move, bend and correctly. I'm now very conscious of how I stand, walk, climb stairs and perform all manner of everyday tasks. Maksim's workouts are varied, enjoyable, and a huge - but not insurmountable - challenge. When I need to correct the way I'm performing an exercise, he patiently demonstrates the correct method and provides background on the "why". I'm doing things today that I never thought possible. One of my close friends has recently started working with Maksim, and the difference is night-and-day for the better. If you're looking for a fantastic way to invest in yourself and improve your health and overall life potential, you cannot do any better than working with Maksim.

Maksim is worth every penny!…read more I have severe osteoarthritis in both knees and am too young for knee replacement. Over the years I've tried numerous prescriptions, over-the-counter pain medicines and alternative homeopathic options. I have had cortisone and hyaluronic acid injections directly into the knees with limited effect. The cortisone works for about 30 days, and the hyaluronic acid actually made one knee worse. Unfortunately, while these may help others, fixing the problem with pills, needles or pastes has proven ultimately ineffective for me. Only turmeric seems to have a lasting pain mitigation effect, so of all the stuff I've tried, I've only kept up taking the turmeric. It helps, greatly in fact, but is not enough on its own. Before meeting Maksim, I was in pain most of the time. It hurt to walk, to stand, to sit, to do anything. I hadn't run in 5 years, I faced a simple sidewalk curb with fear for the pain this single step would create. When the fire alarms went off in my building and I was forced to evacuate down 5 flights of stairs, I did the last two floors near tears in pain. I had gained a lot of weight which only exacerbated the problem. A friend of mine told me about Maksim and how he specialized in movement and was especially good with knees. I was skeptical at first, but went in with an open mind and a great desire for it to work. Fast forward 20 sessions and I am running short distances without pain, I walked 10 miles in Breckenridge this past weekend without issue, have lost many pounds and have a much happier outlook on life! This process has not cured my arthritis. It's still there and still flares up from time to time, but I am learning how to use my joints to their best ability, and I have strengthened the joints and all the little muscles around the joints. I move better, I walk easier and I forget (!) that I have a problem with my knees. I have played Frisbee and jumped to catch it without thinking. For those with knee pain, you know how amazing that is! Beyond the greater mobility and pain mitigation, I see positive effects in my physique, which is always nice. Maksim is masterful in his attention to detail. Micro adjustments in form and constant positive feedback make every session both fun and exceedingly challenging. He works me to my physical limit every session. Maksim is friendly, pleasant, professional, kind but insistent, and FULL of incredible knowledge. In addition to correcting bad form, he's helped correct understandings I had long held to be true, but weren't. He listens and adapts immediately to comments of a sore area that is developing, or a twinge that needs to be worked out. We will stop the workout, identify what the muscle is doing, figure out why, and then act on stretching it and resolving that before continuing. I am certain had I done this on my own that I would have pulled muscles or torn ligaments a long time ago, making the process a failure rather than a success. Through Maksim, I am making an investment in myself, in my health and well-being, and ultimately in my happiness and satisfaction. He is worth every penny.

Does not know how to communicate with children or parents. We were lucky she was so rude , we found a gym that our daughter is excelling at with great coaches and great inviroment. The gym is just west of Kipling and Ward just a few minutes away. When we tried to get in touch with the owners about our issue they never returned any calls or emails. You have been warned.

If you were hammered having a water balloon fight at my pool and being disagreeable when asked to stop you would have been asked to leave. Tattoos are dope. Being hammered and trash mouthed around a bunch of families with young kids is arrogant and disrespectful. I live around the corner, not in SF. Pool gets 4 stars because it needs some updates but is an awesome, awesome place.

This place feels like a pool I grow up swimming at and we have made some wonderful memories with friends and family there, from movie night, to special events, to eatting dinner at the pool. Its simply a great place to be at over the summer. I was completely shocked by a review that was left prior giving the club only 1 star. I have never had any issues and I was actually there the day that lady is referring to and remember a completely different scenario that occurred. No board members were harassing them (which by the way they are all volunteers and put up with way more shit then I would for a volunteer role) they came over asking them nicely to settle down and not to throw water balloons near the pool and other guests. If anything the board should have kicked that group out that day, but they didn't. I have never been discriminated against for my tattoos nor do I see anyone there discriminating against anyone. I would refer this pool to any of my friends and family looking for a place to join for over the summer.

The catty and exclusive behavior of the dancers in company is not discouraged. The instructor, by the name of Julia, is demeaning to the dancers who are not in company and provides them with very few opportunities to expand their dance skills. One student left two weeks before the recital because of the way this instructor treated her. There are so many wonderful dance instructors. Why settle for one that has the ability to influence the minds and bodies of the students in a negative way? After several years at the studio, our child could no longer take the emotional toll the studio's atmosphere was having on them. Look elsewhere. There are other choices when it comes to finding a dance studio where your child can flourish and be happy doing what they love.

This is the brand-new Meyers Arvada Apex pool, and she is serving fresh concrete, sparkling water, giant windows, and enough shiny newness to make every old review spontaneously combust. We're talking:A 50-meter by 25-meter Olympic-size competition pool because apparently we're training future Michael Phelpses now. (Calm down Brenda. I find it is a great place to go during a pandemic because you can rent a lane to yourself for $10 an hour. The staff is friendly and helpful and the lifeguards are attentive. It is a great amenity in Arvada!

Richie has wrapped up for the summer, but I still wanted to leave a review for him…read more Our 7yr old was a struggle bus when learning how to swim. Last summer he also did private swimming lessons (somewhere else), and at the end of it, he did not know how to swim and had spent more time swallowing pool water and getting scared. Initially Richie had our son with one of the other instructors, but when he saw how much difficulty our son was having, he stepped in to help, and by the end of the first lesson our son had made more progress than all the lessons he had last summer. Richie was so patient, and took the time to explain everything (when to hold your breath, how to hold his body, how bouncy works), doing mini experiment with our son in the water to show him how things float. I think our son had about 10 lessons, and now he can swim comfortably on his back, and swim the horizontal length of the pool on his front. And most importantly, he's not scared of the water, and he's not drinking copious amounts of pool water. I know this might not sound like much to some, but to us, knowing how much our son was struggling, this has been a great achievement. I don't think anyone but Richie could've taught our son how to swim. I'm sure the usual methods to teach swimming work with most kids, but our son was not like kids, and Richie met him where he was. We're going to keep practicing swimming on our own, but we're also really crossing our fingers that Richie does lessons next summer too.
