Homemade green beans, mashed potato's and beer battered halibut

We stopped here for lunch on a Tuesday around 1PM. The places was pretty full! They have about 4 small booths, 6 or so tables, and a bar that seats about 8. We found a place at the bar. The establishment is small but comfortable and clean! The Prices are great. We had 2 meals for $20. We had the Yuengling beer battered fish with homemade green beans(with butter on them) ,homemade mashed potato's, brown gravy, and home made chunky apple sauce! Delicious! And the tuna melt sandwich was delicious but the best part were the seasoned French fries. It was awesome to have actual home made food! You could tell it hadn't been frozen, thawed out, warmed and served to us. And they still kept the prices affordable! We will definitely go back! The service and wait staff is not the warmest and friendliest...but they get the job done and kept our glasses full while we chowed down!

Charming, feel-good diner with a very attentive staff and equally amazing food. The breakfast was served hot and perfectly flavored. There is nothing better than diner coffee! We are from PA and felt like we were old neighbors that have been a part of the scene forever. New and old businesses should take note of what Jefferson Diner is offering to their patrons. We will be back !

Not worth the price. atmosphere is uncomfortable.menu is limited ,no all day breakfast, it's not that difficult to make an omelette or eggs and bacon.

Where else but in Jefferson, Ohio, can you get a yummy meatloaf sandwich on homemade bread for $4.50? Or a freshly made hamburger and chips for $3.50? Yes, this is the place that time forgot. It's still 1950, and the Jefferson Diner, a quonset hut relic from that era, hasn't changed a bit since then. On the wood paneled dining room walls are photos of 4-H champions, local sports stars, teenagers and their muscle cars, spanning the last half century. During my most recent visit, I opted for the lunch special, a grilled cheese sandwich with homemade sourdough bread, and homemade Italian wedding soup. If was the best lunch I've had in a long time! I love this place!

Just had to leave a review for this place because I had a good laugh while reading Yelp reviews…read morewhile dining there. So I thought I would pop in for a more positive sort of review. First I want to say our server I believe his name was Chase was on top of it. He was very friendly, accommodating and energetic. I really wanted to like our food but some things were just kinda off , BUT BIG portions we could not finish anything. We started with the salad for two, it was beautiful & fresh looking but just was bland. Both the blue cheese and ranch dressing was devoid of flavor. The chicken Thai soup had amazing flavor but the chicken was just basically left over char grilled chicken breast that they cut into huge pieces and put in the soup. It was the type of chicken that would go on a salad. The chicken was good but just didn't fit with the soup. I was hoping for some more vegetables but there were zero. The truffle Parmesan fries were probably my favorite they needed some salt but felt healthy & homemade. My husband ordered the NY steak, he loved how it was cooked and loved the taste of the charbroil. So would definitely recommend that. The whipped mashed potatoes also he loved, they were kinda oily for my taste. Overall I truly hope they make it and read all their yelp reviews and make some positive changes :) Lastly the ambiance was clean, modern, comfortable booths and when we are driving thru the area we will probably stop in again. So if you are driving along the highway and want to check it out I would say give it a try.

The Farmer Butcher Chef Bistro Ashtabula County, OH…read more We stumbled into the coziest little farmhouse-style spot and wow... these burgers and steaks easily make our top 3 from all our travels. No frills, no extras needed- just perfectly cooked, flavorful, melt-in-your-mouth burgers & steaks. And the jalapeño honey butter cornbread? Sweet, spicy, buttery heaven. The kind of side you dream about long after dinner. Sometimes simple really is everything.

This place has a lot of character! The wallpaper made me smile:). We ordered the calamari and pierogi appetizers and they were both very good. I ordered the Turkey sandwich and my husband had the steak sandwich. I enjoyed my Turkey sandwich and the fries were very good. My husband wound up eating half of my sandwich because the steak sandwich just was not good. There were spices on it that my husband and I just did not like, and the bread was hard to chew. Everything else was very good, so this sandwich was disappointing. Our server was friendly and took care of us despite the busyness of the festival. I'm glad we stopped here and if we're ever back in Ashtabula, we will try it again, but won't get the steak sandwich.

The decor is that of a former small town meat market with modern lighting and decorative finishes. The staff was friendly, courteous, and willing to chat about recommendations as well as the history of the meat market. we both ordered a glass of red wine which was served promptly. I ordered a ribeye steak, and my wife ordered a strip steak. The orders took about forty minutes to be served but both entrees were delicious and prepared as ordered, clearly the best meal we have had in some time. My wife ordered thin onion rings as a side which were the best of the sides we tried. Our waitress also suggested we try several other restaurants within the bridge area. Our dining experience was excellent.

Can you say "perfect eggs"? Holy smoke... I've had perfect eggs. I don't know what kind of sorcery…read morethis is- but I am in shock, and heaven. I do eggs over easy- and when you do this- you may get runny, or overcooked or a myriad of different hmmmmm moments. I ordered a basic breakfast, just eggs, bacon and toast. I had 4 pieces of scrumptious bacon, and the sweet server brought me a little side of sausage gravy- also to die for! Reasonably priced and there are many regulars here since many people were greeted as old friends. The building is off a main drag in Ashtabula, so hidden- and clearly--- these folks are here for food and family! I'm just here to find a perfect breakfast spot- and boy oh boy, did I ever! The only thing I'm missing is a small cot or couch to sleep in after having that awesome gravy- I'm sort of in a gravy coma right now- lol! If you're a little breakfast foodie you're in for a HUGE treat! The atmosphere is bustling and friendly, but not over the top trendy, like having a picnic with friends. You're here for this absolutely over the top food!!! I just hope the regulars don't run me out of here because I mentioned their little hidden Ashtabula gem... A must not miss. 10 stars for nothing less than EPIC food and stellar, quick, friendly service! Good news I won't forget the name!!

Everyone is friendly knows each other and good ol homemade country cookin. Now back to Aunt Judy's. Their steak and eggs were ammmazing recommended by his niece. The gravy was the biscuits were to die for- literally- cz I had a second order and gulped it. The grits was just like I imagined creamy w butter cheese and salt. Oh my. My husband had the western- it was huge and tasty! I even ate the homefries which I normally don't! A++ everything tastes homey like comfort food. The owner Crystal knew my husband and every other person who walked in there. Everyone got a hug and a hello from here and everyone else. Thats how you know they love this place! She was soo sweet and bubbly- pretty and done up- like Mini Dolly Parton. I want to come back before we head back!! Matter of fact I will come back here every time we come back!
