Tenderloin egg and cheese biscuit with sausage gravy
    Rachel B.

I've driven past this restaurant a million times and it's never been open when I go by because they're only open for breakfast and lunch. But I decided I'd give it a try because my husband loves southern breakfast food covered in sausage gravy. We we're definitely the youngest people in there. The clientele are mostly card carrying members of AARP. But it made for a peaceful atmosphere. The place was very clean even though it is likely a pretty old building. I had Julie's skillet with home fries covered in scrambled eggs, cheese, onions, green peppers, and bacon. It was delicious! I also added a giant fluffy biscuit that was amazing. I certainly did not leave hungry. My husband had a tenderloin egg and cheese biscuit with gravy on top. He was quite happy with it although he doesn't like the fluffy biscuits like I do. I definitely recommend this restaurant if you like a quite southern breakfast.

This restaurant is so good. I love country cooking and the waitress was very sweet. It was kept clean and the food was delicious. We also got the French toast and it was good as well.

This establishment is located off of Athens St. The parking lot is a bit small, can be hard to get in and out depending on traffic. I was very disappointed with my experience. Upon walking in, there was no greeting or warm welcome. I was dining in so I was no sure whether to sit down or order first. I took a guess and sat down. After sitting down, we were not greeted for about 15 minutes. Our waiter then came and asked what we wanted to drink, so hello or anything. Then the coke and chocolate milk were horrible. The biscuits were the worst I've ever had. The sausage was not cooked all the way in our sausage biscuit so could not eat it. The grits were okay, only thing good were the hash brown. I would not recommend this place to anybody. I'm not sure how they have any business with the rude staff and horrible food. Please avoid.

We stopped in here to pick up some breakfast. We tried To call but the number was not working. We walked in and we're immediately greeted. This is definitely a popular local place. We placed our order and we waited about 15 to 20 minutes. We ordered four different things. We ordered the breakfast burrito with hashbrowns covered in chili. A full order of biscuits and gravy and those biscuits BIG ol' biscuits. We ordered a half order of biscuits and gravy, a breakfast sandwich, a side of bacon and the skillet scramble with bacon. Kenzie took our order and was very helpful and friendly. Lots of seating inside they are only open for breakfast and lunch. They also have homemade cakes and pies at a very reasonable cost at 2:25 a piece or a slice. Everything was delicious. The best way to get the biscuits is with gravy because they're somewhat crumbly if you Order a breakfast sandwich. The gravy is perfectly seasoned. Yes I said perfectly seasoned. The size of the entrées were very, very large. The price is super reasonable. We fed four people for $35. They also have daily like specials too.

Jefferson House is a cute roadside restaurant featuring Home Cooking breakfast. We enjoyed our first time. Betty was very nice and friendly. Good sized portions. Great place for breakfast and lunch.

Big A$$ Biscuits... for real. A good, clean local spot with good breakfast. Expect Waffle House prices but fair for what you get. Did I mention the biscuits are crazy big? Crazy good too though. Try this place out, its worth a shot.

I decided to try the salmon eggs benedict, and it was nothing short of outstanding--a beautiful fusion of flavors with perfectly poached eggs, rich hollandaise, and fresh, high-quality salmon. Every bite was satisfying and thoughtfully prepared. The rustic potatoes were crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, and seasoned just right, making them the perfect complement to the dish. I also ordered mimosas made with fresh-squeezed orange juice, which added a refreshing and vibrant touch to the entire experience. What impressed me most was the attention to detail, from the presentation of the food to the overall quality of the ingredients. You can really tell they care about what they serve. I drove 40 minutes just to try this place, and it was absolutely worth it. I'll definitely be coming back again and again. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a top-tier brunch experience!

Went in and lady just looks at me. I said, "I just want to get coffee." She said, "dont open until 7:30." I said well, you just lost business and shouldn't have your open sign (on the side of the building to draw in traffic) on or door unlocked. I don't understand business' mentality anymore. If I owned a business that served coffee in the mornings and someone came in 15-20 min before we opened because I had my sign on and door unlocked, I would say, "it may take a few extra minutes because we aren't open yet, but what can I get you?" Thats how you keep happy customers. Instead, you turned me away losing that sale, gaining this review, AND I will reconsider next time I decide I may want to eat your food, and just go somewhere else, also this review could affect others coming there, so affecting future sales. If the lights weren't all on, open sign wasn't on, I wouldn't have come in to have this experience. Business', YOU MUST DO BETTER!!! News flash! There are tons of you for us to choose from. We don't have to eat or drink at your restaurant.

We enjoyed the Pearberry which was light and delicious, as well as the Japanese Old Fashioned which my partner thoroughly enjoyed. Although the price for bacon seemed hefty, it's almost a slab instead of slice of bacon. It's a solid portion and very thick and deliciously coated in a sticky sweet sauce that we enjoyed. We were having a great time and were in great spirits but it took a turn once we were seated for the dining portion of the experience.. I think our experience came from the person manning the meats, who in our opinion doesn't know proper temp checks. We ordered multiple filets, ribeyes, and a tomahawk at our table of 5 and every single one was under. We asked for medium and medium rare throughout our table, but they all arrived severely underdone. The tomahawk was the biggest disappointment, when you pay a hefty price, you expect better results.. but it was raw, because rare doesn't even really describe it. We are not the type to make a fuss, so we just ate our steaks and asked for sauce to make them palatable. The flavor was there but it was very subtle, it could used a bit more seasoning. We relied heavily on the sides and our prior experience at the bar to keep spirits up. The reason this review isn't worse is because regardless of our dining experience, our bar experience was superior and I'd go back strictly for that. I would try it again to see if the cook has gotten better but not for a while.

We sat down to a "Cajun night" menu to which I inquired if that's like a weekly thing or what and was explained that they will occasionally do various themes and recently had done Italian. They had Cajun music playing and a full Cajun menu, it felt like we were in Louisiana which I am very familiar with, I have roots there. I think having themed nights is a very clever way to bring a variety of fine dining options to a small town that doesn't have a lot of restaurant options. Fully support! Love the concept! Having had frog legs before I didn't feel the need to explore again so didn't choose those. I instead opted for some more cozy comforts such as the Crawfish étouffée and Duck Andouille Gumbo. Both were delicious, my only gripe would be the presentation was quite lacking. Traditionally, for either of those dishes, the rice is served from a cup as a topper, not the gumbo or étouffée spooned atop the rice. But the flavor hit it out of the park. Hubby ordered the Blackened Redfish and this is where the chef's talents shine. This was the winning dish of the evening. Hubby hates okra, I love it, and I'd never had it grilled before though and I'll be using that cooking technique in the future, especially since hubby actually likes okra finally. But I don't want to focus on okra for a fish dish. The blackened redfish was so well seasoned and perfectly flaky, the pinto beans had great flavor as well. We finished our meal out with the beignets and coffees (hubby espresso and me a latte) which paired perfectly with the beignets. We ate them politely with the fork and knife provided though if you ain't covered in powdered sugar or accidentally proofing powdered sugar across the table when you take a bite are you even doing it right? ;) but they were delicious, everything was. Again the only suggestion I have is to consider presentation. The dishes looked a bit bland for the amount of flavor they packed. A slice of that grilled okra on top of my Gumbo or just anything simple would've gone a long way. Overall I'll give 5 stars. I have no complaints. The restaurant's vibe and decor are great, service was great, food was delicious. We had a great night!

Anywho I was excited because colombian food is the best. Arriving it was already a hot Sunday afternoon, our seating was in the entry outdoor/sort of indoor area. This area has no air conditioning only two large fans on the right. There were only two waitresses for our entire party, which wouldn't usually be an issue but these two ladies did things way out of order. They started taking some drink orders and some appetizers but casually skipped over others. Most of us got our alcoholic drinks right away but we didn't get cups of water until well over an hour into our time there. A few of us did order the Arepa con queso for appetizers and those were delicious. I ordered the Arooz con pollo with Tostones and it was very salty and lacking in other seasoning for sure. The tostones were good but those are the simplest thing to make. Also my arroz con pollo had hotdogs in it, I've never had that before and those really could have been left out. For a drink I got the Colombiana Spritz and it was juice, not a drop of alcohol was in that drink and the amount of sugar in that drink plus the heat plus the lack of water, it wasn't fun. A couple in the party bother both ordered the banded paisa one regular sized and the other mini, both came out the same exact size but they have a price difference and they both had random things missing from each plate. Half of the party received their food before others even placed theirs. My friend ordered the Chorizo for her husband, which was $8 and you can see in the picture how insanely tiny that Chorizo was. She also ordered the Chicharron which was also $8 and had exactly 8 bits to it, she essentially paid $1 per tiny Chicharron, which is way too much. We already knew the checks were going to be a mess and they sure were. I didn't hate this place but the experience was not good at all. I would only come back maybe for an arepa or if I was invited. The experience could have been bad because of it being a large party but I can't say you'll have a better time.
