A couple of months after the funeral, I followed up to check on the status, only to find out that due to an internal mistake with their paperwork, they never even submitted the order. They admitted the error and promised to fix it and call us to confirm once the order was placed. Since then, I've been following up month after month, and still: no updates, no confirmation, and no resolution. This has been extremely frustrating and disappointing for our family. We trusted that things would be handled with care and professionalism, especially for something as meaningful as a loved one's final resting place. I sincerely hope they make this right soon. Update: September 2025 After leaving this review, I went back in person and found out they still had not placed the order. The employees on site were pointing fingers at one another about whose responsibility it was and finally assured us that the order would be placed this time. A few months passed with no communication, so I called today to follow up. The man I spoke with today was very kind and understanding, but I am just so upset and heartbroken that my family is still going through this nearly a year after my grandfather's funeral. He told me that the vase had finally arrived, but it was cracked and now has to be resent. This entire process has been exhausting and emotionally draining for us. We trusted this would be handled with care, and instead it has been delay after delay with no proactive updates. I sincerely hope they make this right soon, because my family deserves closure and my grandfather deserves his headstone.

It was disorganized, her funeral keepsake was not even printed, place was dirty, the grave site was about to fall in and the chairs were uneven and falling over as we said goodbye. They even messed up the music. Her headstone stillllllllll, 2 years later does not have her DOD on it. After the funeral, her family had to take out all of the flowers, no one offered to help at all. they pushed a cart to the front door and said here and left. She paid for all of these services many years ago, you had no problem taking her payments over many years, at least you can fix all that is wrong. I have made many phone calls and the answering service states the manager is not in. I don't think there is one. I have left several messages at both locations, Millington and Memphis. To this day no one has ever called me back. I just saw some disgusting pictures of the grounds there and a grave with plywood laid on top. i would take this place down. My family owns several plots there today and they will not be using them. Such a disgrace!!!!! L Hall

I want to start by saying that in 2011 when my father passed, the service from the funeral home was…read moreexcellent. Everything went smoothly. No issues, no complications. In March 2021, my mother died. She had been on home hospice for almost 3 months. We contacted Munford Funeral Home to let them know the situation. My parents had purchased prepaid burial plans through the funeral home. Plus, we wanted to let them know her body would need to be transported back to Tennessee. When my mother passed, we contacted the funeral home, and they seemed oblivious to the fact that we had spoken to them 6 weeks prior and were not prepared to help make arrangements for my mother. Everything was worked out and a funeral home in Texas picked her body up and then arranged for transportation to Tennessee. When we met with the funeral home to make arrangements for the funeral, we had to remind them that she had paid for a prepaid burial and had to go find that paperwork. (glad we gave them a heads up 6 weeks prior for them to be clueless and unprepared during our time of distress). During the "intake" we were told that because we were having the funeral so quickly, we could not have an ad in the paper (yet they did it 10 years prior for my dad in the same timeframe). We were also told that we could provide digital photos and request music to be played during the visitation. They made a comment that since we were from out of town, we probably didn't have any images. Yet, we were prepared. Remember my dad was buried 10 years prior and the digital photos were an option then so while mom was on hospice I gathered photos of her and had them ready. I dropped the USB drive off 2 hours after our "intake" with a list of songs to be played and photos to be shown during the visitation. The night of the visitation, the songs we wanted were not played. I had to ask why the images were not being displayed. I received an "oh, we saw the USB drive with the list of songs and photos and didn't know what to do". WTF!? 1) they tell the family to provide the song list and the songs, and then they are clueless as to what to do with the items 2) no one thought to call the family to find out what we wanted. They tried to correct the situation, but the young lady, who is the only one who knows how to run the system was gone. We had to wait 30 minutes for her to arrive and then watch as they rotated my mother in casket around to set up the images. Our requested music was never played. On the night of the visitation, family is allowed in before friends and others come to pay condolences. One thing that is still in my mind is that I had to adjust my mother's clothing to hide the cut marks from her embalming. No daughter should have that memory knowing her mother was cut open like that. Yes, it happens, but during my most emotional time, having to see and correct that is heartbreaking. The funeral home had the responsibility to ensure she was presentable, and they did not! Also, during the intake, we told the man that we do NOT have paul bearers and the casket would need to be set on the grave before we arrived. The casket was NOT on the grave when we arrived. They had to grab all available people (backhoe digger, Gardner, friend, preacher, etc) to move my mother. Just be aware that your pain and suffering will be increased immensely when you work with this funeral home. You can't depend on them to help you put your loved one to rest without them royally f'n something up. Readers know I am writing this review 3 months after my mother's funeral and my anger at how her funeral was handled has not subsided.

My sister beat friend lost her husband a few weeks ago and didn't tell her about the financial obligations in full. It's very shady that this establishment caused problems for the family over some personal grudge. This poor girl shouldn't of had to worry about nothing but getting to see her husband for the last time and getting to remember him for the way he was. I've never seen a hurst take off down the road with a casket moving around either. How dare you put that poor girl and their families in a state of horror. This man was somebody's husband son brother uncle and friend to all. The entire family deserves nothing but the best from the place that is a funeral home. I'm sorry to the family for the horrible time a Munford Funeral home. I will not be recommending their services to anybody I know.

But when my mother died, I was relieved and THRILLED (and who is thrilled in a time like this?) that we decided to trust them with the entire service. Karen and Paul could not have been more wonderful. They were on call for everything. We were never treated like an object or a number. They reacted quickly, on the weekend, and were on call 24 hours a day to make sure we had everything we needed. They heard all of our concerns, worked with any limitations we had, and -- beyond-- went the extra mile. At the last minute, when they overheard that one of my siblings couldn't come in, they arranged for a livestream so he could watch the service. The way they staged the room with the utmost care and attention to detail, really making it feel like a celebration of her life. When we expressed concern that the displays showcasing her life really needed to look like *her* and not like other tables in the lobby, the woman who designs them asked for photos of her home and living room, and painstakingly worked with us to make sure it was exactly what we envisioned. When I walked in and saw my mother's art, photos, even papers she had graded as a teacher and recipe cards on the tables, I actually gasped. It was so perfect. There were never any technical glitches in the service, we never felt like we were being "upsold", all the necessary "business" aspects were handled tactically and discreetly and respectfully. At the end of our first meeting, Karen gave us her card and said, "Call or text anytime, this is just five days to put this together, and I am on call for you during that whole time." As if we were the only funeral happening during that week, and as if it's the only time she's ever worked on a funeral. I'm not sure how she sustains that work life balance permanently, but this is clearly not just a job to her and Paul and everyone on their team, but a *calling.* I cannot recommend this team highly enough if you should have to go through the worst thing I have ever gone through in my life.

The team was kind and accommodating. Following the committal service I asked about picking up my grandmother's framed items for the reception at my home; I'd forgotten to mention it before then. Paul let me know that the items were to be catalogued and packed for pick up later that afternoon but the team gracefully met my last-minute request. By the time I got back to my car, the framed items and flower arrangements were carefully prepared for travel. I am so grateful for the support this team provided through this challenging time for my family.
