I had called the day before, asking what kind of oysters they were serving. I should have known better when the girl replied, "Rockefeller, fried, raw, we have it all." When I explained that I was asking where they were from, she had to go find out. Turns out they had Delaware. So the next day we went to have some. I could literally smell them as she approached the table. We asked her to take them back because they smelt horrible. She told us that all oysters smelled horrible. When we denied that she said it might be because the fish truck would be there the next day so they were probably too old. Seriously? Who trains these waitresses? Beer; that's the answer to all this restaurant's woes. Just make sure that you're at least three beers in before you order. The food is mostly deep fried and generally undercooked. Obviously, the fryer is under temp or the "Chef" (can you actually call them a chef?) didn't leave the frozen Alaskan Pollack in long enough to warm the center of the fish nuggets inside the fish tacos. It was mushy from under cooking. The baked oysters, described on the menu showed black pepper and parmesan cheese baked to perfection. I wondered if the person preparing them knew that they were supposed to put parmesan cheese on the oysters. The oysters showed up as baked oysters with black pepper and black pepper. My husband and I were here around 11am on 10/13/2025. The first thing we ordered were the ultimate cheese fries and there was a fast food small size serving of fries with almost no seasoning on them, very little cheese, and not even a entire slice of bacon worth of bacon on top. We sent them back after not even wasting a single calorie on them and the staff took them off our bill no problem. Staff was nice and quick. I wonder if the poor quality of our appetizer is what corporate wants and sadly the staff know about it and just have to deal with it because I've gotten similar dishes at other places for a similar price point and the dish we got that day wouldn't have been acceptable at a place like Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen down the street. I called ahead to place the order, and that worked well. Their estimation of when my food would be ready to pick up was pretty close. I think I waited about 5 extra minutes than expected inside. They have a big menu, which makes it a good place for people who are in the mood for different things (although everything they have is still under that American food umbrella). I got sweet potato fries as my side, and fried pickles to share. I thought the fries could have been a little softer, but they were fine. The fried pickles were good and had that tartness that I really enjoy! I felt like they gave a good amount of the pickles too. I loved that if you order the chicken, which I did, they give you options for spice level. I've never really seen that at an American food spot, so I was happy about that! Probably the main reason I ended up ordering the buffalo chicken tender basket. It came with 4 medium sized pieces of chicken... I wouldn't necessarily say they were the full size of a normal chicken tender that you'd expect, but it was still decently filling (especially with the side of fries). Note: There was also a regular chicken tender basket with the option of spice level, but when I asked over the phone, it seemed like the difference was that the buffalo chicken basket was tossed in your flavor choice, while the regular just had your flavor choice as a sauce on the side. Not only do they let you choose a spice level, but they have lots of choices!!! It ranges from mild ones like teriyaki and honey bbq to medium ones like cajun and and double dipped all the way to hotter flavors like mango habanero and at the very top "afterburn". I ended up at the flavor just called hot, which I thought was a good classic flavor. It was near the top of their flavor thermometer (4th from the top), but it really wasn't too spicy for me. I think with it being that high on the list, I was expecting a lot more heat. So if I ever go back, I'd probably try a different flavor in hopes that it's spicier! read more

Good food and selections, tons of flatscreen TVs with all the sports and a little bit unusual menu. Kind of a typical bar, burger and wings joint, service was fast and even though it's a lot of hard surfaces not too noisy. The menu had a bunch of choices and all the typical rubs and sauces of a wings joint. What made it special was the additional menu items like several versions of Oster's, fish and chips, sweet potato fries with house dipping sauce, and many other items. The quality was good, burgers were simple, they didn't ask how we wanted them cooked and I can't say it was as good as a steakhouse burger. But everything was fresh, bacon was crispy but not over cooked. They served really good sweet potato fries but had a variety of options including onion rings. My son ordered wings which were moist and juicy and not too small. Service was prompt and friendly. We look forward to going back and trying more of the menu, there were all kinds of things to try. Absolutely horrible management. They planned a birthday celebration to celebrate their anniversary and then didn't staff for it!!! We came in for the first time tonight after a friend shared their advertisement with us. When we arrived we noticed very few cars in the parking lot, which surprised us. We walked in and the place was almost empty. So it shocked us when the hostess said it would be 20 minutes for a table. She then said she was short staffed and only had two servers. We debated about leaving, however I like to give new places a try. Our other option was Hacketts, which we should have chosen. After about five minutes my boyfriend says let's get a drink at the bar while we wait. He then asks the hostess if we can get drinks while we wait. Her answer, no it's a 20 minute wait!! We wait. About 5 minutes goes by and a friend of my boyfriends (who is clearly a regular) walks in. They chat for a second and he walks straight to the bar and is served! What???? I told him he should just go get a drink because clearly they don't really have any kind of management here. He just waits with us. Finally the hostess seats us. Now she says, sorry for the wait we are down to one server!!! Seriously they let someone off while being short staffed on an event weekend?? Even OT should have been authorized when you are turning customers away and making people wait 20 minutes while most of the tables are empty! We get seated. A nice young man walks by and says he will be with us in a minute. He heads over to a party of 8 to give them their check. Only they want boxes and the check split up multiple ways. We wait another 10 minutes and the two guys seated after us are served drinks by the bartender and their food order is taken. Still no drinks for us. This isn't bad enough, as the hostess didn't offer to even get us drinks or send the bartender to our table. However while we are waiting we see at least 4-5 OTHER employees milling around. Not one of them comes over to even take our drink order. We decided to leave. We have now been here about 40 minutes and don't have drinks. As we are grabbing our things the waiter comes over and apologizes. We decided to stay. That waiter did a decent job and food was decent. However if the management doesn't care to actually manage their employees or the schedule properly on an event weekend, I'm out. This was not worth the hassle. Good menu choices but not good food. I know someone that worked there and they would serve food on dirty dishes. Managers knew about it and didn't care including 5 cases of sexual harassment, 4 out of 5 were from coworkers/manager. They upcharge for things you won't even ask for or order. I could go on and on. But basically if u don't mind only sitting at the bar, with the taps covered with fruit flies and roaches crawling all over the liquor bottles and counters then this place is the place for you! Here's what we got: Fried Pickles - lightly battered but not very seasoned; very pickle-y LOL. They were good but not amazing. I'd get them again, though. Guacamole Bacon Burger - hamburger patty topped with provolone, bacon and a big dollop of guacamole. It tasted pretty good; didn't hate it but it was a mid-range burger in terms of my particular all-time favorites. Mac n Cheese - this was decent but standard and topped with extra cheese, which I don't prefer. Double Dipped Wings - sauced wings that are fried then sauced again. They had a good flavor but some were a bit overcooked since the wings varied in size. Not a consistent dish. Cajun Oysters - surprisingly, despite being stuck in the middle of America, these oysters were fresh, flavorful and very good! Onion Rings - very crispy and thick slices; tasty! Let me begin by saying that this rating only reflects the SERVICE we received and isn't about the food because it was delicious. So we called to place a to go order at 9:35 and the person who answered the phone told us to give her a minute and hung up. We called back at 9:36 and was asked to hold again (by the bartender) when she FINALLY came back on the line 6 minutes later she told us that we couldn't place a to go order because they close their doors at 10:00. After about 2 minutes of back and forth she decided that we could order but she was exceptionally rude about the whole thing. When we got to the restaurant the rudeness continued. Service is always awful, every time we go it takes forever just to get a beer so you better order multiples. Luckily the food is pretty good so at least the cooks can do their job. Food is always great. My complaint is with the service. The host's seem like they do not care for their jobs, look at me like, Oh, another customer, they do NOT have people skills, they should be saying " Welcome to Jefferson's". When they take you to your table, they take off ahead by a good margin and they act like they are going to sleep, barely can hear them when they talk to you. We have been to jeffersons several times, and each time it seems to go a little bit down hill. We usually sit in the bar, however today we sat in the dining room. The music was so loud it was inappropriate for anything but a dance hall. The beer selection is good. The service is OK. The food--not so much. The fries are the typical unseasoned frozen ones. The hamburger patties are premade, frozen, and dry.
