Lovely steakhouse in Joplin. Servers were swamped with a large event in town, but did a good job keeping up. Steak was fabulous--we finished every bite of our mignons and filet. Drinks were great too!

One of the best steaks I've had. This place would easily compete with any Dallas or Houston Texas steakhouse (where I'm from). I'm in Joplin a lot for work and happy I found this gem.

This is a beautiful old restaurant with a long history. It's a local favorite old steakhouse that serves elegance and delicious food. Reservations highly recommended and the perfect special night.

Possibly the best steak I've had in the country. Every bit on par with places like Mesa Grill, DelMonico's, Peter Lugers and more. The seat and strong crust on the top of the filet, then butter smooth center. The freshness of the sea bass with beautifully done greens beneath. Incredible drinks and service. Really a 5 star experience.

My husband and I went to Wilder's this evening for our 3rd wedding anniversary and it was AMAZING! The food is delicious, the server Katrina was so helpful and kind. It was like a time capsule into the 1930s/40s, we loved it! The food is TO DIE FOR! Extremely gorgeous and welcoming. 10/10

ive lived in Chicago, LA and Denver. this is the best Seafood and Steak you'll ever have. Ask for Crystal, she is so sweet, personable, and knowledgeable about the building. my boyfriend and I happened upon this place after seeing the solar eclipse in Littleton. seriously, eat here, have a drink and relax. it feels like a speakeasy in Chicago.

    What's the dress code?

It's across the board. I'd suggest at a minimum a polo and khakis for a gentleman. Dress for women. But we saw people in t shirts and shorts, hats.

We had put our name on the online waitlist (which we love). We were seated immediately when we got to the restaurant. It took at least 10 minutes for someone to come over to our table to take our drink orders. We ordered our food, and at least 15 mins later the server came back to our table and said, "Oh yeah, I keep meaning to tell you we are out of our 12 oz prime rib." So my husband and I had to quickly order something else. I ordered the 6 oz filet medium rare, and my husband got the filet and ribs combo, also medium rare. We waited another 40 minutes for our food to come. Our 5 year old actually waited for it well, but my husband and I couldn't figure out what was taking so long. When we finally got our meal, our steaks were not medium rare. However, we did not send them back, because we had already been there an hour and we were hungry. My steak was more like medium well than medium rare. The steaks were not seasoned at all, so they were also bland. My sweet potato was not thoroughly cooked. Honestly, the saving grace was the rolls and the green beans. Luckily, we had a gift card, so we only ended up paying $6 and the tip. Our server was not overly friendly or helpful. We never got refills on our drinks, except my son, and it took at least 20 mins for her to bring it back to him once he asked for a refill. It was a fairly busy night, but we have been on nights that are busier and we've received better food and service. We were definitely disappointed because it was our anniversary, and we thought it would be nice to go to dinner as a family. Maybe we should have gone somewhere quieter anyway. Can't take it back now, but it may be awhile before we go back.

The host and hostess, two teenagers giggling and making nonsensical hand signs at each other, were unhelpful and honestly pretty rude. While we were waiting (in a mostly empty restaurant), a woman came up to buy a gift card for her daughter. The boy couldn't fathom what a gift card was or why someone would want to buy one, nor could the girl standing with him. They eventually had to bring out the manager for this poor woman and she promptly got her gift card and left. When we were seated, I was presently surprised at the service! I didn't expect much based on the hostess stand encounter but our waiter was very enthusiastic and checked on us frequently. Our drinks were always full and we had what we wanted or needed promptly. We tried their appetizer sampler with the new mozzarella sticks and it was a hit! Everything was hot and fresh. I was honestly very impressed with how good the mozz sticks were. The rest of our food followed suit! Chicken strips, pasta, a very well-cooked steak, and all of our sides were excellent. The complimentary bread was hot and fresh as well! Our only complaint about the food is that the lobster was a little fishy-tasting, which is unusual for Outback. I do think the prices could stand to be lower or they could implement some more deals. However, I'm satisfied with what I got, even if it was expensive.

Then I am going to tell you that when I left, I remembered why I haven't been there in a long time. I ordered lobster. You get two lobster tails for $37.79. I paid $17.98 for two kids chicken tenders meals. The fries were not hot. They looked horrible and the chicken was dry. We ordered a blooming onion, which was greasy! The bread was good. My granddaughter ordered grilled shrimp, which was $27.98. This meal cost me $119.54, including tax. This is ridiculous. I won't be back. Now I see why Texas Roadhouse is running them out of town! That personal connection aside, Crabby's delivers an experience that feels both elevated and welcoming. It does lean towards being a bit more expensive, but the quality of the food and the care in presentation make it worth the splurge. I ordered the gnocchi marsala with chicken, and it was nothing short of heavenly. Pillowy gnocchi paired with a rich, savory sauce that lingered beautifully. Mrs. K. chose the salmon pancetta, which arrived as a work of art on the plate, perfectly cooked and elegantly presented. She enjoyed it very much, savoring each bite. And of course, we couldn't resist ending the evening with a crème brûlée: creamy, infused with vanilla, and topped with that satisfying caramelized crust that cracks just right under the spoon.
