Where do I start. When you come in, there not really a way to know what to do if you have never been here before. Do you sit yourself ? Which You can't cause the tables are not cleaned in a timely manner. Or do you wait to be seated? Server passed us 3 times and didn't say anything to us and she saw us come in. One server (who I think is a teacher) was very good tho. She said hi and told us to wait. Then our appetizer order was wrong. I ordered wings since it said (fresh never frozen) and I swear it's the bagged frozen Tyson wings. And they took forever to bring us the wings. I went here today for a coworkers birthday. I loved the atmosphere of it being small and the dollar bills on the wall! I was stuck between getting wings and raw oysters, I thought oysters would be leave me with a less guilty conscious. So I got the oysters and they were delicious and big! I was expecting small ones on the half shell because it's not on the water location. Nope! They were a good size and yummy. I will definitely be back for thi 03/22/2019 So I really hate to write this review but I had such a terrible experience today at lunch that I can't ignore it. I begged my office to go and we went, I wanted the grilled chicken wrap because it was delicious last time I had it! So the waitress takes my order, I state grilled chicken wrap and to add raw red onion. She came back to the table to tell me that they didn't have red onion but had "purple". If you don't know that's the same thing. So I went along and said that's fine. Then came back a second time to ask how I wanted the onion raw or grilled. Literally said raw three times now. So the food arrives, and guess what, no onion. Also it's fried not grilled. I hate being that person but I sent it back. The whole table ate before I even got my food. I had to get it to go. To top everything off, nothing was comped and they charged me extra for the "sautéed onion". Displeased was an understatement. read more

What a nice place. I'm going to comment on the food, why I haven't tried this place, why I have finally tried it, and the unique atmosphere. "Wings, burgers, and oysters" are touted on the sign outside. So, I decided that I would try all three. I was not disappointed. First up were the oysters. While my server did not understand what "on the half shell" meant, I did get a half dozen wonderful morsels. They were large, sweet, tender and most important - purged. Well played. Second on the menu were the wings. Again, these were wonderful. Fried the same way I do at home, they came out without any funky coating. Tender, hot and meaty - these wings were great. Hot was not so hot. I ordered the "Afterburner" sauce on the side. It was moderate to my fire eating standards. I enjoyed them greatly. Last on my culinary feast was the Jefferson's Burger. Oh, boy, this was great. It was big. It was tasty. The veggies piled so high, I almost could not open my mouth big enough. Great, balanced flavors. It has taken me a long time to try this place and I am disappointed that it has taken me so long. Outside appearance was one reason I have not graced the door. Don't get me wrong, it looks nice, just not inviting enough. They are located next to a VERY popular restaurant. So traffic goes next door. It does not look like a restaurant. It is a former house. and the parking lot out front is small. There are similar restaurants with similar menus, but I was never convinced the food would be good. I was wrong. I drive for Uber. Riders have praised this place. Jefferson's sponsors activities for the high school where I teach. I felt compelled to try it. I'm glad I did. As for the atmosphere.. they have interesting wallpaper - dollar bills that have been decorated with all kinds of art work. Because it is a house, dining areas are small rooms. Where I ate, there were only two tables and two HUGE TV screens. It was both at the same time intimate and overwhelming. Given the food, history and atmosphere, I plan on going back. read more

Funky little joint close to campus, that serves your typical bar fare, but also Fresh Oysters?? Yep. They did it. I mean, they aren't straight out of the gulf fresh, but as fresh as I have tasted in Tennessee. This place did not disappoint! Ordered: Potato Skins, Curly Fries, Shrimp Jammers, and 3 different types of Oysters- -The Jefferson's baked (Topped with hot sauce, cheese and jalapeños) These weren't my favorite, but they were still good. -Santa Fe - (Topped with BBQ sauce, bacon and a shredded cheese blend) As much as i didn't care for BBQ sauce and Oysters together, you top anything with Bacon and you've got a winner. This one was my 2nd favorite and last but not least, my favorite, the Classic- -Oyster Rockefeller - (Topped with spinach, artichoke, bacon & Parmesan cheese) REALLY good. And they were actually shucked properly, none of the gritty sandy texture you get with some- you know what I'm talking about... Gross. These were pretty much perfect. The shrimp Jammers- Jumbo shrimp filled with cheese, and the fried... weird right? Seafood and cheese...? No thank you. But it was actually my favorite bite of anything I had there. Recommend. This was a great place to go to as we have been here several times. Tonight we had a party of 3, we sat ourselves, the table was dirty as the waitress just took the plates and cups off the table, we sat and she didn't even offer to wipe the table off. I wiped it off myself! Ordered oysters, kids chicken basket and a jalapeño burger. Oysters was small, not like usual. She brought enough crackers out for one order, had to ask for more. Kids chicken we had ordered ranch in which we didn't get and had to ask for that as well. Placed an order for pickup. The cashier told be it would be just a second until my order was ready. After waiting for about 5 minutes for somebody to acknowledge that I was by the register or at least to make eye contact. Well the "second" turned into almost 50 minutes of waiting for my order. The food is great but waiting times like this when a restaurant is not completely full is unacceptable. And I've never had this issue at their location in Brentwood. I stopped coming here for a while and when I came back after a few months I thought the long wait for food issues would e dealt with. But I guess it's not. read more

Great service with bland, underwhelming food. From start to finish my waitress was attentive, helpful, and quick. I spent no time with an empty cup. But I was disappointed when my shrimp po' boy arrived with stale, flavorless bread. The lettuce was almost as dry as the shrimp and I used up the tiny portion of sauce just to get it down my throat. Luckily, again, the attentive service kept my drink full to help me choke all the food down. The 5-star rating may be a bit misleading, but I did want to reward this burger "joint" commensurate with their resolution to our problem. My SO and I arrived of an evening to find a single empty table. We ordered fried pickles, cheese burgers, fries, and two beers. 30 minutes later, no food, though our waitress stopped by as mystified as we were. Finally, after 45 minutes the pickles arrived, but no burgers. Three different waitresses attempted to resolve the issue. After an hour, our burgers, and sides, arrived along with coupons for fried pickles, two more beers. The restaurant "comped" our dinner in its entirety. Some will say, of course, that is only to be expected. Perhaps. But our experience at other restaurants is quite different from Jefferson's response. We will go back. The food was good, comfortably filling, hot, juicy, everything a good cheese burger should be. The curly fries were hot with just the right amount of "spice." I recommend this place, but be aware that if it is busy one will need to be proactive in encouraging the kitchen to respond. The wait will be worth it! read more

Great Staff, Good Food I went in during a lull, and the staff made me feel right at home. Jefferson's is part of a small chain, but it feels more small-town. The fried oysters were what I'd come for, and they were good, although being from Massachusetts, they weren't at all what I was expecting. (These were still somewhat soft, and I like mine fried hard, still they were quite edible.) The stars of the meal were the tea, unsweet yet smooth, and the fries, with a pleasant crispness without, silky and mealy within -- just the way a good fry ought to be (despite the crinkle cut.) Jefferson's is by far my favorite place to have a casual meal and some beers with my friends. The servers are incredibly attentive, and genuinely care about you as a customer. I usually order either the Jefferson's Burger or the Chicken Tender Basket along with Fried Pickles or Mozzarella Sticks. The Jefferson's Burger is top notch - just a normal burger with american cheese, applewood smoked bacon with a nice BBQ sauce. The Chicken Tender Basket has never disappointed me - incredible hand-breaded tenders that can be tossed in any sauce you desire that are paired with french fries. Let me just explain something so it's understood, Jefferson's has THE BEST french fries I have ever had in my entire life; I cannot figure out what makes them so, so good but they are to die for. The Appetizers: Mozz. Sticks and Fried Pickles are both always well made, fresh, and on your table in less than 5-10 minutes. Beer selection is pretty good as well, paired with a fun, upbeat environment? Jefferson's cannot be beat in my opinion. 5 out of 5. read more

AGHHHH I love this place. I've been trying to find a solid wing joint in Murfreesboro and Jefferson's is awesome! My favorite wings are...the garlic and parmesan, as well as the Asian zinger (I think that's the name). The restaurant has a college-y vibe, which is no surprise since it's basically across the street from MTSU. My college days are loooong gone, but I love coming her because of the atmosphere.
