You can find pretty much anything here. Small packaged food items, drinks, toiletries, kitchen supplies, packs of socks or underwear, cleaning supplies, phone cards, cigarettes (for you smokers)... I could go in and on. I still have a really nice Rubbermaid colander and a plastic mixing bowl with handle I bought here in 2002. I use both frequently. I bought a granny cart around the same time here to use as a laundry cart, still have it. My favorite pair of sunglasses were purchased here, sadly broken during an especially drunken night out circa 2004. One of my favorite things to buy here was Dr. Sheffield's baking soda toothpaste (before Sheffield rebranded as a high-end offering, you used to be able to get a tube here for ONE DOLLAR. I'd buy like 10 and they would last months. I'd also get bleach, parchment paper and stuff like that. It's a fairly busy store because the neighborhood locals all know and shop here. I still stop in when I'm in the area to get deals on certain items.

Once in, had to wait as they crowd control how many consumers can be in store at once. I was happy at the selection of shoes at this store. I found four pair of sneakers. Ended up pulling the trigger on two of them. Ultimately got a nice pair of Nike court vision shoes for $44. Very good deal. Additionally got a pair of Salomon Drx Bliss $44 (retail $160) shoes which are traditionally running shoes but they were a perfect fit. Neither shoe had a box. However I am keeping these so don't need a box. Overall good experience at the store. Several grooming items available and good selection of hard to find perfumes. Always wanted Sunflower by Arden and couldn't leave at store for $10.99. I also saw some White Diamonds perfume for sale which was a big hit back in the day.

They are excepting returns/exchange which is great because the knife set I picked up was not in the best condition. SN: The return/exchange line is seperated from each other. Now for the important part you have to wear a mask, social distantings is in place but some customers don't follow the rules. They have hand sanitizer in the front of the store and there was one at my register. They only allow a certain amount of people in the store at a time and they wipe down the carts. The dressing room is closed but you can return for now if it doesn't fit. The employees I interacted with very nice and with the two I talked to you could see their smile through their mask...I mean one of them did have a mask with a smile imprinted on it but was only a positive. There were two clerks and both were eager to assist. Only being open 30 mins the store was busy. Being that I once lived in the area I know this is a welcomed addition and saves locals from the additional drive down to the locations on Stony Island. Always note that no two Dollar Trees seem the same. The stock varies. Though the stock was low, it did carry items I had not seen at other locations.

My boyfriend and I go up to the front and kindly ask if we could listen to a record and the ignorant employee with the gray hair stated only if we wanted to buy that record. He repeated this ignorant statement three times to us. How will I know if I want to buy it if I haven't heard it? It is no longer the 90s we have streaming nowadays I could've just looked this up on my phone but to be respectful I opted for the record player. The employee said I'd have to give him my drivers license in exchange for the needle. I did so, I listened to the record it did not please me. I took the needle off went back up to the front and retrieve my license. We then continued to look around for other records but that experience totally threw me off to the point where I didn't want to listen to anything else because of how rude the workers were. My boyfriend has been going there for years and encountering that was shocking. I suspect it's due to prejudice! Fortunately we love music and we did buy the records we came in there looking for.
