There is something about this location where nothing survives for long. This has to be the 3rd or 4th thing in 10 years that has been on 47th street in this area. I have had moderate success with a robe, intimates, stockings and socks, but I leave empty-handed more often than not. I should look for housewares instead. We went to replace some gloves that had been lost, and there was NOTHING but 1 pair of running gloves. Is it too early or too late? We don't need snow/single digit gloves, just regular women's chilly weather gloves. How are there no gloves to be found in October? We will re-visit near the end of the month.

This is a convenient Ross right off 47th St. Lake Shore Drive. I've had consistently great luck with home decor and furniture here, whether it's bath rugs, area rugs, feather pillows, high count bed sheets, patio chairs, and even an armchair at bargain prices. Know how to quality test and your materials, and there are unbeatable bargains to be found. Admittedly, there are cheaply made stuff here, too, and you have to be patient shifting through things or making multiple trips. The assortment is pretty random, but you can find deals lower than Target prices. Just picked up a pretty grey 3 x 5 rug for only $20!

Maybe its me but this store is full off rags. Not my cup of tea. I saw items that would be much better selling at the family dollar. I'm giving 2 stars because the young lady at the front door was nice when I came in and when I left out. I will try coming back just to see if I see something give it 1 more try.

Disorganized, staff not always friendly. Today in a line of more than 20 and only 2 cashiers available to check out. Staff in the back of store was not very professional with conversation that was taking place. The host at the door was professional and friendly

Had a great time going through the racks. Found some incredible deals in men's, women's, and home sections. Friendly and helpful staff.

It's a lot like TJMaxx and Marshalls in terms of selection (clothing, home goods, toiletries, etc.) and prices.

"Wait, I thought this was a furniture store" - you might be thinking... Well, I went in for an entryway table (aka a catch-all table for next to the front door of my condo) and I found something I loved that wasn't quite the right size. Shari immediately reached out to the maker of the piece, and now I am getting one from her that is custom fit for my home! She has lots of beautiful pieces in the store, but if you don't see what you're looking for, be sure to ask about it. Odds are, if it's not in stock, Shari (or any of her employees) can probably help you find or build it. In addition to shirts, earrings, and furniture, Recycled Modern has a nice collection of beautiful wall art, and plenty of vintage glasses frames to try on (along with the option to order your own lenses to fit, for those who are basically blind without glasses like myself). Plus, candles! And as far as I could tell, any of the new items were all made by independent (largely local) makers. Vintage items sourced from all over. Just go. What else are you going to do. There's a pandemic. Go get a cute coffee table to make up for that plane ticket you didn't get to buy last year.

Also, I would like to thank all of the people that have come out to support businesses in this area that were hit hard by the current political climate in Washington D.C. At the height of violence in our streets I tried to do my best by supporting some of these businesses. During this phase 18th street looked like a ghost town on a Saturday. Normally on a Saturday in this neighborhood has people teeming everywhere and the smell of an asado in the air (Yum). Having time off and having an asado is the perfect way to relax and spend time with your family. Plus, who doesn't like the smell of an asado? Well during this time period I found this shop that I thought had some really cool and unique stuff. Also, you may notice that they have a fair amount of stuff with the famous Hulu's The Bear line, "Yes Chef, No Chef" on it. If you are a fan of the show like I am, then, the interior will look familiar to you because it was in a seen on the show (I think it was season 3). I immediately recognized the store and thought to myself "cool" and great choice. Anyhow, if you find yourself in the area, pop in and check it out. They are very selective as to which artists around the country they want to buy from and in turn sell their products. Maybe you will find that one unique thing that you have been looking for that you didn't realize you need. I mean, you never know unless you check it out. My fellow Chicagoans, please go out and support your local small shops!

It's always a pleasure to stop in here because they always have a unique and diverse selection of products to choose from. They keep the shop in excellent shape while maintaining a high level of style and taste. It is my preference to shop primarily from their in-house brand because I appreciate the creative process that goes into creating each piece, and the quality is always excellent. When I'm outside and wear their clothing, I always receive positive comments. They also carry a few other specialty and locally made brands in addition to the above. It was once my habit to visit not only for the clothing, but also to peruse the accessory collections for my girlfriend. This shop comes highly recommended by me!
