During this time I mentioned to front desk I'd like to inquire about the cavities that I currently have during my cleaning. Throughout the 10 mins that I stood there with front desk, she constantly kept reconfirming me that I was covered through Medicaid for this cleaning but she have to ask her friend about the fillings. She even provided a document with the Medicaid code to me. I time and time again reiterated to her to not focus on the cavity situation now. After being called to take am x ray about 10:30pm... I was getting by another young woman. As I sat down I hear whom I thought was drunken man by how he was slurring his words say " you need to pick an insurance " I look back and YES he was talking to me. I then asked "how do I pick? I'm covered for this" instead of answering.. he literally walked away while I was asking. He kept stating that he doesn't take straight Medicaid.... About 3 rounds of that. I immediately stood up because not on my was his mannerism extremely unprofessional but I then felt very uncomfortable and bullied. Very very tasteless and nasty attitude. I mentioned that I've been to this dentist before and had an amazing experience and that's why I returned. I then told him that he was really rude and he asked how in the most aggressive way possible. I guess he had better things to do... instead of possibly helping me out somewhat.. Not only did I take off of work for this but I planned in advance. Very unfortunate that I had to experience this.. I had no problem paying the $100 in cash but I wouldn't dare let that person near me with that energy and foul behavior.

With an attitude, she responded "Did we ask you to pay when you were here?". After about a week or so, we received a call about a more than $200 bill because they are out of network. There were reviews about this kind of office/billing dealings that happened with some people in 2018 and 2021. Don't waste your time with this secretary. She is mean, nasty, very rude and no telephone courtesy. If she doesn't like the job, she better quit. IDK why she is still working there despite these incidents.

Upon completion my mouth was numb. That afternoon when the feeling in my mouth returned, I tried to chew on that side, and it was painful. The next day I called to return and get it looked at. I was told they were closed on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. I called on another day to come in on the same day as my wife's scheduled appointment ( as I'm having a hard time getting around on crutches) and they tell me I can only be seen by same dentist who did the initial ( lousy) work, and he isn't there on that day. Dr. Sniffen's prices are well below the competition. For $90 you get an initial check up and cleaning. Everyone else in town wanted between $120 and $250 for the same service! I ended up having to pay another $30 for the x-rays because my last ones were over a year old. I was very pleased with the cleaning and how the dental hygienist explained things to me. The staff was nice and courteous. I highly recommend this dental group's staff. The only caveat is that the office is a bit of a time warp, clean but well used.

I would pay twice what I was quoted after my root canal (granted with insurance) for the service and care that Dr. Sniffen gave. I ultimately agreed, but I wish this discussion had taken place during the consultation so I could have considered the treatment and financial implications beforehand. The most concerning part of my experience occurred during my crown placement appointment on June 9. When I respectfully shared this feedback and mentioned that I had already discussed a payment plan for the additional crown with the office manager, Dr. Loeb abruptly left the room and stated that she would not cement my crowns unless payment was made in full. As a patient in the middle of treatment, with three prepared teeth awaiting final restoration, I felt scared, vulnerable, and distressed. I understand that dental practices have payment policies, but I did not expect my concerns to be met in this manner, especially after I had already been working with the office on a payment arrangement. I appreciate Dr. Roman, the office manager, and the practice owner for stepping in, resolving the situation, and allowing my treatment to be completed. However, I believe patients deserve clear communication, professionalism, and respect, especially when they are in such a vulnerable position.

WP Dental told me I had to pay for all visits upfront in cash before I could be seen and then they would contact my insurance company. I have never experienced this before and this is very illegal. They are in network with United Healthcare and her second visit was not covered because she was either over the benefits limit or it wasn't covered. My daughter also told me she kept trying to push treatments that she didn't need. My wife picked this practice to support a woman owned business and if Dr Leo had been an honest person instead of a money grabbing liar she would have five additional patients. 5 STAR SERVICE. This is why…read more Friday night at 7pm, left a voice mail that I'm from out of town and am having dental pain. Early Monday morning, the office returns my call. They get my insurance info and tell me they will call back after contacting my insurance company. Within 30 minutes, the office calls back to confirm that they spoke with my dental insurance provider, confirmed exactly what was covered, and that they would bill my insurance directly. Then, they found me a SAME-DAY appointment later in the afternoon at 3pm. When I arrived, I did not know what to think at first. I've never been to a dentists office inside an apartment building before. After I met the staff, I DID NOT GIVE THAT ANOTHER THOUGHT. My dental hygienist was CARLEMI. Not Carmel or Carmeli or Carmela. CARLEMI. Remember that name because she is the BEST. She asked detailed, thorough questions about my tooth discomfort, quickly and painlessly took the x-rays, and cleaned and polished my teeth. She was warm, intelligent, funny, caring, and professional. Could not ask for more. Doctor Robertson was beyond a consummate professional. He immediately inspires trust and confidence. It is clear the doctor has been doing this for a long time and really knows what he is doing. On top of that, Dr. Robertson gives the type of personal service that one would expect more from a very small town doctor. He encouraged me to call him on his cell phone no matter what the hour if I had an emergency. He encouraged me to call the office to schedule a quick drop-in if I began to feel any more pain. He did NOT try to sell me anything I didn't need. He encouraged me to take a practical, sensible approach to save time and money and offered a cost-saving option just in case the pain returned. In short, I LOVED this doctor and his office staff and the entire experience from beginning to end. They made me want to move to Harlem. Go to the Harlem Center, and tell them Steven from Portland sent you. No reason. I just think that would be hysterical if you did.
