You only get one chance to make a first impression, and this salon knocked it out of the park. I made an appointment for a mani/pedi based on a recommendation from my sister who lives in the area and could not be more happy with the service or the genuinely nice people who work here. I arrived wearing a mask and was asked a series of health questions to ensure the safety of employees and clients. The girl asking the questions was both polite and professional. The salon is spotless. No dust or hair on the floor or the retail shelves. While waiting for my service I observed tons of cleaning going on with an emphasis on high-traffic touch points. The pedicure chair was comfortable and had a nice massage feature. Each pedicure chair was separated by a clear shield so you could still see everyone around you. All employees were wearing a mask, and more importantly, wearing them the correct way. I didn't see a nose or a mouth the entire time I was there, LOL!!! I was fortunate to have an appointment with Lindsay. In a nutshell, she's fabulous. Besides being very friendly and easy to chat with, her work is immaculate and precise. I've never had anyone pay such attention to detail when doing a pedicure. My nails were cut and filed gently. After applying the polish to each nail, Lindsay painstakingly used a brush soaked in acetone around each nail plate to ensure there was no bleedover of color. Calluses were smoothed over and I was given the choice of warm towels and a shorter foot massage or no towels and a longer foot massage. Who wouldn't choose the longer foot massage???? My manicure was just as good. All the filing is done by hand, which is a lost art these days and something you definitely don't get at an average nail place. Lindsay took her time and shaped my nails exactly how I asked and made them as short as I wanted them with no complaints, all the while making great conversation and making me feel at home and relaxed. This was my first post-covid manicure and my cuticles were a mess. Lindsay was gentle but determined to get them cleaned up correctly. I was very disappointed with my recent experience at this salon. I invested over $400 plus a $100 tip, expecting professional results and service, but unfortunately that was not the case. 1. Service Quality - My highlights came out yellow/orange and uneven, without proper toning or blending. The stylist also did not provide the blowout that was part of the service, and I was sent home with wet hair. 2. Follow-Up Visit - I had to return the next day just to receive a toner, yet again I left with wet hair. For the price, I expected a polished, finished look, not multiple trips and unfinished service. 3. Customer Care - When I raised my concerns with management, instead of an apology or solution, I was told that the stylist "shouldn't have taken me because she stayed late." This response felt dismissive and unprofessional. Overall, I left feeling undervalued as a customer, despite the significant amount of money and time spent. I'm so disappointed to have to leave this review because I used to really love coming here. Recently, I had an appointment cancel on me right before my sister's wedding which was unfortunate. I also once waited over an hour for my appointment only to be told the colorist couldn't take me because her current appointment went way over since she didn't like her updo and had to do it all over again. Then, this morning I was canceled on again the day of a family event. Left high and dry today, I have no options left because they are booked. Most of the colorists are fabulous, but have walked out with hair dye splattered around my hairline. I love the welcoming staff who are friendly and knowledgeable about all the products. They remember my name and know exactly why I am there as soon as I walk through the door. Planet Color Salon got me in right away. Caroline my stylist at Planet Color was younger, but was a pro, actually listened to my hair goals and boundaries without overreach, and got as close to my inspiration photo as she could with the services I requested and without adding on unnecessary, damaging, costly services that would harm my hair and look temporarily good. Instead she did what worked on me instead of trying to copy flat Instagram trends and throwing a barrel curl over it. The results and final cost at Planet Color Salon was refreshing compared to my usual experience at Jeffrey Lamorte. I will officially be making the switch :) read more

I went once last winter, I specifically asked for highlights and long layers. The stylist put large amounts of dye on the top of my head and told me all over color would cover my grey - I had specifically said I didn't care about covering the grey hair and that all over color stained my skin. She disagreed and didn't do it carefully. Several people at work commented on it the next day and it was embarrassing. It was over $120 for someone with no experience who didn't listen and I gave her a tip, as she was inexperienced and I didn't know how bad it was until I left and got home. She also left me with dye on my head in a waiting room with people walking in and out instead of at her seat. She took a break and did not have another person there, so I'm not sure why I could not have sat in the seat out of the waiting room, especially since it was cold and the front door blew in cold wind when I had wet hair. Then she didn't cut layers and told me it would look better all one length and cut it the way she wanted it. Overall nice looking salon but thoughtless service - at least from my stylist that day. So far so good. I went to this salon for the first time to use the service of a nail technician. Gillian welcome to be back to her station shortly after I walked in. I was embarrassed to arrive a bit late, but she made me feel very comfortable as though it were no big deal. I explained my nail problems to her. I told her that I was interested in trying to no chip gel application. She agreed that that would be a great place to start with my nails. She explained each step to me along the way, and we discussed a plan for future applications as my nails grow out. I like my nails to look as natural as possible and I was pleased that Gillian was on the same wavelength and completely understood what I am looking for in future applications when we switch to a French manicure with a very natural look. I normally go to the Orland Park location (and sometimes the Frankfort location) for a quick toner or blowout. I see Taylor at the Orland Park location and Sam at the Frankfort location. All 3 of their salons are the best!! - Customer service is fantastic. All the staff are super nice and friendly! - Stylists are all very precessional. I normally see Taylor in Orland for color every 2-3 months. She's the best! - The owner Jeff is always in the salons and takes customers as well. That's very unusual for me to see. Normally, you don't see the owner just show up in the salons to take customers! That makes me feel really warm and fuzzy. He's also super nice, professional and you can tell that he really cares about his customers and employees. - During Covid, not only do they follow the state guidelines (temp check, require everyone to wear a mask, etc), they also sanitize the place non-stop. I feel very comfortable getting my hair done there. - Their price is very reasonable compared to all the fancy salons I used to go to in the city!! You literally get the royal service and treatment! I promptly volunteered and we had several exchanges over a private message in regards to day and time. I arrived on time at the salon for my appointment with C. She then tells me that I must have the wrong day. I show her my phone with the messages. She then tells me that I will have to wait for her to take another client because she booked both of us at the same time. After making arrangements for my children I was not about to wait for someone who can't even schedule appointments. I do not recommenced Jeffrey Lamorte. I recently got my hair and make up done there and first, for my make up my eye lashes fell off within 15 minutes after leaving. Not only my eye lashes, but my make up peeled off. For my hair, they didn't put in any hair spray and my hair lasted probably an hour. I called to come back to get everything fixed, they were extremely rude to me. I spoke with the manager who was so unpleasant and didn't let me obtain any sort of credit. Per our phone call when I scheduled the appointment, I obtained the name of the receptionist who said the price and they told me a price after I was completed of $40 higher than what I was told and didn't do anything about it. This place is awful. Management is rude and clueless and they are way to expensive. Go elsewhere. Plus, make up and hair is ugly here anyways. On start rating is way to high in my book. read more

Went to go buy Hair product but later realised i had a defected one when i opened it. i went back to trade for a different one two days later and happened to get that one person with the worst attitude. Ugh-went there when I stopped going to the Orland location because my stylist left. In the interim, I had a bad color experience so I specifically told Paige what I did not want THREE times. You know where this is going. Got exactly what I asked her NOT to do. When I mentioned this to her, she said "well next time I won't do that then."????Hello, why would I be back if I've asked you not to do something three times and you STILL do it.?? So I ask to speak to a manager, who was not there. So I call the next day and speak to Elaine who tells me she will speak with Paige and get back to me, within the next day. Still waiting for that call.....Suffice to say the complete lack of color knowledge and ability and the overall lack of professionalism makes me say, go elsewhere. UPDATE--So a week later Kelly the manager calls me, leaves me a voice mail and it's obvious that she has no clue what the problem was and why she was calling me. On top of it, after my first hair cut here they sent me a 10% off card. I forgot it at home and they made me drive home to get it! Granted my fault that I didn't have it with me, but are you serious?
